27/03/2026: Disappointing decorum It's a shame that the attention given to the cooking classes didn't translate into even a minimum of decorum. The meal was good, but a restaurant isn't just a place to eat; the welcome is important. We still spent over 90 euros for two people. We lowered the bill for the food, even though it was good, because the chef wasn't respectful of the customers. Given the off-season, he can't even use being overwhelmed as an excuse. Only an English-speaking couple received standard, professional treatment.

18/02/2026: Absolutely splendid restaurant! It's by far the best Caesar salad I've had in Montpellier. I highly recommend this welcoming place for a meal with friends or a relaxing moment alone on the lovely terrace. The staff are very attentive. The beef carpaccio was also excellent.

22/03/2026: It absolutely astounds me to see the awful videos and photos of these poor cows imprisoned in stalls and allowed no movement whatsoever, yet people ❤️ & like them! Perhaps the ❤️’s & Likers should spend the winter season with that nasty metal frame around their neck while chained to guarantee no movement. And yes I know this is due to snow outside & the cows can’t graze. No need to keep them locked up like that though, how about a barn they could at least move around in???? Response to reply below. I was giving 1 star to the way the cows are tethered up in those metal neck harnesses. I’ve now upped it to 3 in response to your comment. I know a fair bit about how farming works, grew up in Cornwall and had a lot to do with farms, mostly dairy. As for giving 1 star I give what I feel, you can see my reviews and I’ve never seen a business promoting itself with photos & videos of cows locked up like this, so I haven’t given any other mountain farms 1 star, yet. Where I grew up the cows were not locked up like this! I know this is common practice in these environments but it doesn’t have to be. You point out they are outside May-October so that’s 6 months chained up like the photo & video then, unless I am missing something. As for the excuse why they can’t move around, you’ve answered it yourself, “cost of the buildings” so the cows endure 6 months locked up like this so the costs are kept down, exactly my point. But as I wrote, I have upped the stars. I hope you can take on board that these cows are living creatures, have done no wrong but the system feels it is perfectly acceptable to imprison them like this……. To save money🤐

16/02/2026: We had a wonderful meal! I had a ribeye steak, it was tender, homemade fries, and the tiramisu was to die for, a real treat! Go for it!

06/02/2026: We wanted to have lunch at this restaurant because Google indicated it was open until 10:30 PM. The chef agreed to serve us even though we arrived around 2:30 PM, but every time we ordered a dish, something was always missing. He was only interested in making his profit and refused to make any concessions. It's a shame; he lost two potential customers. We only had a drink while waiting for our meal, which we had to cancel because he wouldn't serve the dishes on the menu. Special mention goes to the bar staff and the waiter, who were lovely and apologized on behalf of the chef. The chef didn't even come to speak to us.

04/05/2026: What a wonderful discovery this beautiful restaurant was, with its lovely indoor and outdoor terraces! An unforgettable experience awaited us with an excellent lunch. We opted for the €38 set menu, which featured dishes that delighted our palates, prepared by a chef who works with fresh, seasonal ingredients with great care. Special mention goes to his duo of crispy asparagus, the Angus beef, the duck breast, the crème brûlée, and the baba au rhum. The Graves wine was excellent. The welcome was warm, friendly, and professional. We will gladly return.

23/04/2026: I want to thank Manon, who looked after us this evening. She's smiling, kind, and helpful! Although she's new, she's already more professional than most in this field! As for the food, it was a delight! The cuisine was sophisticated, flavorful, and refined! The setting is also very pleasant and clean; I highly recommend it!

28/10/2025: We had lunch there on a Saturday in October (not many places were open). The dishes were homemade and generous. The service was friendly. Very good!

02/04/2026: [March 2026] - Update: We've erased the disappointment of last time; a takeout order with friends to redeem ourselves: mission accomplished! Everything is very good: rice, fish, portion sizes, gyozas. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Last time it was a flop, it happens ;) [Nov 2025] - Takeout order. We redeemed ourselves with smiles from the ladies: a very good sign. The gyozas were very good, the fish was finely sliced ​​and a nice addition to the sushi. But the rice was a bit dry, with little to no vinegar (a basic requirement), we prefer it slightly sticky/moist. Some of the makis were sparsely filled. We were recommended this place, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to our expectations. Perhaps our standards were too high. Best of luck nonetheless, and add more vinegar to your rice :)

30/03/2026: Perfect! The rice is delicious, the salmon is excellent, the miso soup is perfect, and the desserts are very good! Not to mention the service and the extremely pleasant atmosphere ☺️

21/03/2026: A very pleasant setting at the entrance to La Rouvière. Fresh and well-prepared food. Very affordable; I highly recommend this place.

11/04/2026: A good place with a friendly, unpretentious welcome. A smile and professionalism are guaranteed. There was a bit of a wait between the starter and the main course. The dishes are classic but good, accompanied by a nice glass of red wine.
