17/06/2026: For a stopover on a cycling trip, it's simple but adequate. The room in the annex is clean, but a bit worn. A fresh coat of paint would make all the difference. The food is well-prepared with tasty simplicity. Breakfast is minimal. Overall, it's what you'd expect from a small village inn.

22/07/2026: The food at this little Indian restaurant is delicious. 😋 The service is always good and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. We shared a platter of saffron rice, and there wasn't a bad choice on the menu from what I've tried.

21/08/2026: It didn't reflect the photos. Sadly nothing was open and the owners left the auberge locked up. This is a mixed review. The rooms are beautiful, the bed was a super king. But everything was locked up and we had no access to the bar, the games room or the garden. When we checked in the owner told us to always keep the front door locked as the guest house is very large. We went up to our room but when we returned downstairs to explore the lounge and billiard room we found everything to be locked and the owner gone. I decided to explore the outside but there was a huge oak barrel blocking access to the decked patio so we weren't sure if we could go there. I decided to take a look. It was quite neglected and not like the photos. When I turned back I found a huge St Bernard dog blocking my way and growling at me. I'm not the best with dogs and so I had to turn my back so he would lose interest in me which he did for a while. I called my husband to try and distract the dog so I could escape past the barrel. It took me quite a few minutes and I thought I was a gonner but he turned to hubby and I sneaked out. Later I had to make friends with same giant growly dog when we went to our car by feeding him some paté from out of our car boot. He liked the paté and I think we made friends. However, I find it a bit worrying that the owners would leave a giant and possibly dangerous dog unattended and allowed to free roam around the auberge. Well, after that there was no chance we would try to enjoy the beautiful garden for fear of Mr growly attacking us. And so we were stuck in our hotel room. We tried to go for a walk but there wasnt much to see. As the restaurant was closed we went for food. At 7.30, it was a Tuesday and nowhere was open! Trudging around town we eventually found a pizza takeaway but it had just closed! We did manage to use it's self serve machine so we didn't starve. All in a a very disappointing stay, if only the bar and games room was open we would have had a lovely time.

07/09/2026: We have been here several times as it is within walking distance of our hotel. The people that work here are very sweet, informative, considerate of our needs and forgiving of our terrible French! From the morning coffee to lunch and dinner, the food is wonderful. Prices are on point. A side note, we had a person that uses a walker and the cafe had plenty of room to accommodate the equipment. It was a delightful cafe!

25/08/2026: A little disappointed with the value for money. It was good, but nothing exceptional. The service was extremely slow, even though it wasn't very busy. However, the terrace was lovely and the waiter was very professional.

29/08/2026: The food is still more or less fresh and mass-produced… Several friends have gotten sick from the shellfish, I've been back at least 30 times, and they don't even offer you a free coffee, they're so stingy… As a shopkeeper myself, even if they're smiling, they pounce on you as soon as you arrive to buy a drink and inflate the bill to over €30 per person. Sure, we know why we're there. Their loyalty card has really put a final blow to my future visits; I won't be going back. Three of us arrive. They give us a loyalty card—well, no, I take it—at the register where they stamp you once per visit, all for something. In the end, we don't even know what a drink is! After 10 visits, even with three people, it's €90 * 10, or €900, just to earn one drink, or €300 if you're alone 😂😂😂😂😂. Whereas at my place, after the ninth or tenth visit, you get your main course and dessert free. So before going to an all-you-can-eat place, think carefully. It's €30 per person there, while at my place, it's €25, but you get local dishes, and I often offer coffee, etc. So, favor small restaurants; it's truly shameful. And yet, I've gone back several times. They have no sense of business; it's normal to think too much about money. No matter how friendly they are, all they care about is making big profits without fostering customer loyalty like me, who's happy to have returned and spent at least €2,000 there in 5 years. It's a real shame, very expensive for what is essentially just processed food, but that's the way it is, we know. It's mainly the owner's stinginess that makes me want to throw up; I don't want to come back. Good luck, you've just lost a very good customer.

15/09/2026: On a Monday, few places are open, but Le BISTRO de l’OCEAN is: We really enjoyed the set menu, which was reasonably priced, both for the excellent food served—simple recipes that were very well prepared and delicious—and for the attentive service. The tables on the terrace were pleasantly shaded; a moment of complete satisfaction!

14/09/2026: A wonderful discovery! Delicious food, impeccable and attentive service. Above all, our dog (a golden retriever) was very well looked after. The waitress was incredibly professional, especially considering the rather unpleasant and unfriendly table next to us. We will definitely be back.

20/08/2026: We were delighted with our experience at this small restaurant. The kebab meat was very thinly sliced, lean, and excellent. The kebab sandwiches (crepe/poached) were very well balanced in terms of the amount of meat, sauce, and vegetables, as well as their distribution. They weren't homemade fries, but they weren't bad. The dining room was very pleasant. The kebab menu was very reasonably priced.

Between the filth and the syringes found on the ground last time, it's totally unacceptable."
