23/05/2026: Everything was great. We ate well, the wine was excellent, and the service was impeccable. A good experience. I have no complaints.

22/05/2026: Had an incredibly delicious meal and very knowledgeable and friendly service in a beautiful location. Excellent value for money. The wines too. We even went back a second time. Also for a drink or the super tasty ice creams! You won't find that anywhere else for that price. This place deserves a better score!

25/05/2026: We had booked in advance but were seated on the street side. Upon arrival, I mentioned that I had booked and asked if it was possible to be seated on the back terrace, the garden-style one, on a sunny Sunday in May. "No, sorry, it's closed, not enough people." Okay, first disappointment. Then, when it came time to order our food, no "crying tiger" (a type of pastry), even though it was a packed Sunday in Barbizon. What a shame. We wanted a glass of Saint-Émilion. The waiter told us they didn't have any, the menu had changed... okay, too bad. For dessert, there were two tarts (lemon or apple). Too bad for those who don't like tarts. The waiter told us there was ice cream across the street... The tuna tartare was good, but nothing special. We were expecting much better. It has a very upscale feel. The location, the prices, and the presentation are all high-end, and the waiters are friendly, but nothing more. The selection is very limited, and the dishes and wines listed on the menu are often unavailable… As we were leaving, we noticed that the back garden was indeed open… We ate well, but overall we were disappointed. Considering the prices, it's very overpriced. Don't expect anything worth the price.

25/05/2026: From the moment you arrive, the pleasure is immediate: the staff is welcoming, smiling, and attentive. The setting, decor, and furnishings perfectly blend elegance and simplicity, creating an atmosphere where you instantly feel at ease. As for the food, I was delighted. The chef brings a touch of surprise and originality to both the seasonings and the presentation, elevating each dish. Refinement and indulgence are present from the beginning to the end of the meal. A truly wonderful place that I recommend without hesitation.

30/12/2025: We had a wonderful lunch here. Service was excellent and attentive, the food was delicious, well cooked and well presented. We both choose from the set menu at €20.90 for 2 courses or 3 courses for €24.90 which was excellent value. The fish of the day in saffron sauce was cooked beautifully and the toasted cheese with honey and almond was great. Oysters were succulent as were the mussels. We shared the Ile Flottante with is light and fluffy meringue. We did not book, and were lucky to get a table, would strongly recommend you book in advance.

15/03/2026: Mathilde and her team gave us a very warm welcome; thank you for your kindness. The hotel is charming, the room was decent, clean, and the bed comfortable. The restaurant was very pleasant, both for dinner and breakfast. After spending our days exploring Avignon and the surrounding area, we appreciated returning to the peaceful atmosphere of this hotel, nestled in nature yet just minutes from the city. I highly recommend it.

26/04/2026: Tonight, we tried the cuisine at the Hôtel de France for the first time. I wanted to take my wife because it had been a long time since we'd been able to spend some time alone together without the children. I was looking for a place, a moment, an atmosphere that felt like us. I found everything I was looking for there. A luxurious setting, but not overly so, a simple and pleasant interaction with everyone—from reception to service and the kitchen staff—a special moment that felt like home, like the Southwest of France. This "home" I'm talking about is even reflected in the food, the aroma, the flavor of a chicken and pea broth, just like when I was a child at my parents' house. Back then, during the chore of harvesting peas, the only joy for that little boy was eating a few peas from a burst pod and the leftover chicken broth from the previous day, seasoned with vermicelli, at lunchtime. The surprising taste of red mullet with a duck jus was a delightful surprise. And what about the quail, served with a variety of sauces, purée, basil emulsion, small mushrooms, onions, and more? In short, I'll stop listing all the dishes. The conclusion of this review is simple: thank you to the entire team at the Hôtel de France for this wonderful experience. See you soon.

09/12/2025: A nice little restaurant... Honest food for the price, unpretentious, simple but good. Not all ingredients are fresh, which is a bit of a shame, but for the price, it's understandable… (although homemade fries and mayonnaise aren't much more expensive than frozen ones…). The service and welcome were impeccable and very warm. The dining room decor could perhaps use a little more warmth, although the fireplace was lit, which is a real plus, but it's really a minor detail. Hygiene was impeccable. And as a bonus, it was open on a Sunday (which is becoming rare!). If you're looking for a good little bistro, simple and affordable, this is the place.

20/02/2026: What a great idea it was to stop in front of the restaurant and go in with my son. We felt right at home. We ordered the Salsiccia; the crust was thin, crispy, and light. The service was impeccable. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back to try the other pizzas. See you soon.

23/05/2026: Average! No option to swap dessert for a scoop of ice cream… No sugar with coffee; you have to ask for it at the bar… little things like that make all the difference compared to other restaurants. I'm really not sure I'll be back.

24/05/2026: I stumbled upon this place during a Samba evening, with no expectations other than the music. What a delightful surprise at the brasserie: deviled eggs and macaroni with ham were expertly prepared with quality ingredients – a real comfort food! Superb caipirinhas and very friendly service. Definitely don't hesitate to stop by!

01/05/2026: Not good and very expensive. The satay beef was undercooked and frankly disappointing. Over €15 for that portion is outrageous. The fried rice with bacon and carrots... it's unbelievable. The spring rolls are good, but €9 👀 they need to lower the prices considering the quality...
