25/05/2026: We deliberately avoided tourist hotspots in Alsace, seeking something authentic. A place with genuine Alsatian atmosphere, nature, tranquility, and honest cuisine. We discovered the Auberge Lindenhof in Hohwald through ChatGPT—and it was an absolute stroke of luck. We planned our bike tour specifically to include a stop there and were thrilled to even get a table. Almost exclusively locals—that says it all. The food was outstanding. Add to that the special atmosphere amidst nature: pure idyll. It was also wonderful to see the joy and warmth with which the owner and the entire team work. You can immediately sense the passion they have for this place. For us, it was a truly special break on a beautiful bike tour in a stunning region. Thank you for this experience.

20/02/2026: A wonderful first experience on Valentine's Day evening with our son. We had a fantastic time; the food was excellent, and the owner is lovely, passionate, and very attentive! Truly delightful! We'll gladly return!

17/02/2026: Finally, an authentic restaurant, the kind that sadly becomes increasingly rare. The owner is very friendly, passionate about Italy and its cuisine, much to our delight. The dishes are generous and of high quality. For dessert, a truly classic and excellent tiramisu. A very good place to eat, and we must support the last remaining artisans of good, fresh food!

15/02/2026: This unassuming little bistro is a real gem in this central neighborhood. The welcome is very friendly, almost familial. The food is excellent, with generous portions for a reasonable price. They also have a good selection of beers. It's a popular spot with regulars, so reservations are recommended.

29/01/2026: My husband and I often come to this bar. It's a bar with a neighborhood bar atmosphere right in the center of Lille. The food is good. We always receive a warm welcome.

09/04/2026: What an atmosphere!!! We had a fantastic evening with flawless entertainment and, above all, a young owner who took excellent care of everyone. The tapas were superb, and for beer lovers, there was a huge selection, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

18/03/2026: Stopped by for lunch on a weekday. A small, discreet, working-class restaurant where the welcome is warm, the service is excellent, and the food is good. The dining room is nicely decorated. Good value for money. Small private parking lot and a great location on the peninsula.

15/04/2026: Short lunch stop on the route along the Loire. Service was attentive and friendly even though it was quite full. Food came fast and was all fresh, creative and both traditional and engaging. Don't miss to take im the view from the platform just behind the restaurant.

03/05/2026: Best scotch and whisky selection we found in our entire stay in France. Service is direct and efficient, no time wasted - as you'd expect from a bar. They warmed up to me when I showed knowledge about their scotch selection and did a bit of a tasting tour of their offerings. We arrived about 5:30pm, it was pretty quiet with a lot of tables available. By the time we left at 7pm, the place was completely full. Show up early, or be patient waiting on a table.
