14/06/2026: I've been coming to this restaurant every year, and this was by far the worst experience I've had. The place has completely changed, and not for the better. The waiter was extremely rude, arrogant, and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. The service was practically nonexistent, and we were left waiting for long periods without any attention. The food was disappointing and nowhere near the quality it used to be. I will definitely not be coming back and I think the restaurant should shut down.

10/05/2026: If you're passing through Saumur, make a detour (Restaurant La Vallée du Clairay) on the road to Rosiers-sur-Loire! I just returned to my favorite restaurant where the service is impeccable. The waitress is very friendly and welcoming, and the waiter is lovely too. Go check it out if you want to try different flavors; personally, I love it! 🍽🥂

17/06/2026: A magnificent place. Upstairs, don't confuse it with the bistro on the ground floor. The steak tartare was very good and well-seasoned. The tagliatelle with garlic sauce and duck breast was good. A good quality duck breast, generous amount of porcini mushrooms. I was less impressed with the lemon tart; the lemon cream was a failure and couldn't be replaced with thin slices of lemon. The price is reasonable considering the quality of the food.

13/06/2026: We arrived at 8:45 PM, but were stopped at the door and refused entry, told the kitchens were closed… This is the second time; the first time was around 8:30 PM! What's the point of opening if you're turning customers away at these hours?!? I'm referring to the main restaurant (upstairs) at Les Halles, not the bistro. This was our last attempt; we won't be back. 😕

20/05/2026: A decent meal for €31. Good quality, well-prepared dishes. However, the food wasn't served piping hot. The back room was noisy and poorly lit. The wooden chairs were uncomfortable. The cool temperature meant we had to keep our parkas on. Upon arrival, there was a wait to be greeted, then to find our reservation table. The two waiters seemed overwhelmed by the number of customers. They rushed through orders without listening to the customers.

30/11/2025: I went to the drive-thru this evening and unfortunately, my experience was not satisfactory. The person who took my order was unpleasant from the start. Then, when I went to pay, I tried to politely explain that I wanted to pay with several different cards. Before I could even finish my sentence, she closed the window to attend to another customer at the self-service kiosk without really listening to my request. I would have simply appreciated it if, once she came back to me, she had paid at least some attention to my request before confirming the amount on the payment terminal. The total was already displayed without giving me a chance to explain how I wanted to pay again. It's not the fact that she was helping another customer that bothers me, but rather the lack of listening and attention afterward, when all I was doing was making a simple request. A little more kindness and attentiveness at the drive-thru would really make a difference for customers, especially since I'm a regular customer and the service isn't usually unpleasant. Thanks anyway to the rest of the team.

03/06/2026: I ordered a platter of oysters that didn't look very appetizing. But anyway, with vinegar and shallots, I ate my platter. The wait was long. And when I got home, I was sicker than ever. This deserves to be reported to the health department.

30/06/2026: Pleasantly surprised since the change of ownership, the staff are very attentive and the value for money is frankly excellent.

26/06/2026: I loved this brasserie before the change of ownership, but I'm very disappointed now: awful yellow paint has been smeared everywhere, whereas the decor used to be so lovely, and the service has become quite unpleasant. Such a shame.

07/06/2026: We received a wonderful welcome and discovered the restaurant with an exceptional and excellent beef stew and a perfectly cooked fish medley. 21/11/2025: Just passing through… What a find! Bravo! We thoroughly enjoyed everything from the appetizer to the dessert. The menu is simple, with only two choices, which guarantees seasonal cuisine. And it was so delicious! Not to mention the impeccable service. I recommend it 1000%!

18/05/2026: We had a delicious lunch here this afternoon. The food is truly top-notch! As a starter, I had the asparagus with marinated beef. The pleasant smoky flavor really gave the dish an extra dimension; it was very tasty. The lamb main course was also a bullseye: the meat was perfectly prepared and accompanied by flavorful vegetables and a delicious gravy. Compliments to the kitchen! The only downside lies in the setting: in the dining room, you sit quite close together and it can get pretty noisy. However, if you are willing to overlook that, you get a fantastic culinary experience in return. We will definitely be back here again!
