21/09/2026: Absolutely awful experience. The sushi had a weird chemical/alcohol taste, so we stopped eating it and told the staff. We asked if they could replace it or at least remove it from the bill. Just “no.” No explanation, no attempt to check the food, nothing. Then we paid for a glass bottle of Coke and asked if we could just get a plastic cup so we could take the rest of the drink with us. Again: “no,” because apparently the bottle is more important than the customer. Never experienced such ridiculous customer service. We literally paid for food we couldn’t eat and a drink we couldn’t take with us. Would never come back.

21/09/2026: Absolutely terrible experience. I strongly DO NOT recommend this place. We came about two hours before closing and from the moment we walked in, the waitress looked visibly annoyed and acted as if our presence was a problem. we were treated with an incredibly unfriendly and rude attitude. We ordered item B2 from the menu and sushi. When the food arrived, both of us tried ONE piece of sushi each and immediately stopped eating. The taste was absolutely awful and extremely strange to the point that we genuinely became concerned that something might be wrong with the fish or the ingredients. It had a very unusual, almost chemical-like taste, and neither of us felt safe continuing to eat it. The meat we ordered was also very unpleasant. We politely explained the situation to the waitress and asked if the sushi could either be replaced or removed from the bill. Her response was simply NO. She told us that we ordered it, and if we didn’t like it, that was our problem. No apology, no attempt to check the food, no concern whatsoever about the fact that TWO customers had independently said the sushi tasted so strange that we were afraid to eat it. With raw fish, food quality and safety should be taken seriously. Instead, our concern was completely dismissed. The experience somehow got even worse when we were leaving. We had also ordered Coca-Cola, which was served in glass Coca-Cola bottles. Since we had paid for the drinks and hadn’t finished them, we wanted to take them with us. The waitress stopped us and said we were not allowed to take the bottles because the restaurant collects them. Fine, we then asked her to simply pour OUR drinks into takeaway cups. She refused and said they had no plastic cups, so apparently we were just expected to leave behind drinks that we had already paid for. We left almost all of our food behind, paid the bill and walked out hungry. Terrible food, unbelievably rude service, zero customer care, and a completely dismissive attitude when we raised a genuine concern about the quality of raw fish. One of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. We absolutely do not recommend this place and would never come back.

20/08/2026: We reserved a table for two on August 18th for 12:15 PM. We arrived on time. Thirty minutes later, our order hadn't been taken. We left. There was only one waitress, who was rather unfriendly and only asked if we wanted an aperitif. She became very unpleasant after we declined.

09/09/2026: ⭐️ 1/5 — And that's only because I can't give it 0… Honestly, I don't even know where to begin, this experience was so disastrous. We had already tried to eat here a week ago. There were five of us, and we were refused service because apparently there were only tables for two and four. We didn't really understand that then either… Today, the welcome wasn't any better: no greeting, a grumpy face, no warmth whatsoever. We were seated without a word, not even a "bon appétit." Extreme coldness from beginning to end, with the distinct impression that we were bothering them. Then there were the pizzas. The menu offered 24 cm and 29 cm pizzas, but after measuring them at the table, our pizzas were about 20 cm. So, naturally, when you pay for a pizza advertised as 24 cm and you receive one that's 20 cm, it definitely raises some questions. I ordered a Bolognese pizza for €9. Honestly, I was expecting something decent. The result: a dry, very floury pizza, nothing special, and frankly, not very good. I finished it in under three minutes, but considering the size… 😭 And the cleanliness? It's a disaster. The photos speak for themselves: glasses with streaks, tons of limescale, a carafe in a truly unsettling state… I even wiped my glass with my napkin and it was covered in streaks. Disgusting. And yet, they claim the hygiene inspection/service is "very satisfactory." Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out where that is, because that's absolutely not what we saw there. I thought to myself: okay, let's give them one last chance with dessert. Spoiler alert: bad idea. 😭 There were only four desserts on the menu, so the choice was easy. I ordered the chocolate fondant… which arrived cold. Ice cold. Not lukewarm, not even slightly chilled: cold. It also tasted like flour, and to top it all off, the spoon clearly didn't look clean. And as if that wasn't enough, I then went to the restroom. The restroom was filthy. The mirror was so dirty I could barely see myself. 😭 And to make matters worse… I got locked inside! My colleague had to come and get me because I couldn't get out. 😭😭 So, in the end, we had: ❌ a frosty reception ❌ no greeting or "enjoy your meal" ❌ pizzas smaller than advertised ❌ a dry, floury pizza ❌ frankly alarming cleanliness ❌ glasses and a carafe with a lot of limescale/stains ❌ a cold, floury dessert served with a questionable spoon ❌ dirty toilets ❌ a mirror so dirty you couldn't even see your reflection ❌ and, to top it all off, a customer locked in the toilet who had to be rescued by a colleague 😭 At this point, if I could give zero stars, I would without hesitation. I'm really not the type to leave negative reviews for no reason, and I actually tried to give them several chances during our meal. But this is just too much. A very bad experience from beginning to end. I absolutely do not recommend this establishment.

05/09/2026: I was genuinely sad after returning to La Poule au Pot. I had such wonderful memories of meals here a few years ago and was excited to come back. One small example captures how much the experience has changed: the steak frites used to arrive with a magnificent silver platter piled high with beautiful thin fries — generous, festive and quintessentially French. They also used to give you a side of sauce for your steak. Now the frites arrive in a small martini glass kind of bowl. The sauce is gone. Feels like shrinkflation. When I mentioned how disappointed I was, I was told the old presentation resulted in too much waste. I understand wanting to reduce waste, but something special has been lost in the process. It wasn’t simply about having more fries; it was the generosity, presentation and sense of occasion that made this restaurant memorable. I came back because I loved La Poule au Pot. I left wishing it were still the restaurant I remembered. Guess if I want a platter of fries I have to go to go to Le Relais de l’Entrecôte.

01/09/2026: Very disappointing experience The restaurant is conveniently located close to the marina in Port Vauban, Antibes. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was low, the service was poor, and the prices were extremely high and completely disproportionate to what you receive. The waiters were not professional, and the overall experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant. Save your time and money and choose somewhere else.

17/08/2026: We came as a family looking for a quiet place with good home cooking, and that's exactly what we found. Attentive service, a lovely little menu with local and French specialties—there was something for everyone. We found the portions generous, and everything was fresh and delicious. We especially loved the bone marrow and zucchini blossom fritters as starters, and the fish (grouper that day) was excellent, right down to the desserts. We'd heard about it but had never been, and since we're from Antibes, we won't hesitate to go back.
