09/06/2026: Takeaway pizza. Very friendly welcome and conversation.
The pizzas are EXCELLENT! Crispy and soft. My daughter and I loved them. I don't usually eat the crust of pizzas, but I didn't leave a single bite this time. Plus, the dough is sourdough!! So it's much easier to digest.
And for those who don't know: This sourdough fermentation also helps reduce the amount of phytates! (Phytic acid is an anti-nutrient) There's a small park nearby where you can sit and enjoy them.

18/07/2026: We stopped at La Balagne for a cocktail, the only place in the area with two trees providing a welcome bit of shade this time of year. Besides the excellent cocktails, the warm welcome and the pleasant atmosphere on the terrace made us want to stay for dinner. The pizzas are truly excellent, and the red mullet fillets with pastis were a real treat. In short, a fantastic evening; you can go without hesitation. Thank you, La Balagne, for this lovely evening; we'll gladly return.
17/07/2026: The welcome was more than pleasant; I just left. Since I arrived very late at night, I was lucky enough to encounter a very kind lady who kindly gave me bottles of water and refused to charge me.

08/07/2026: I've often gone there for a drink, but today I wanted to go for a meal. It was around 6:20 PM, and when I asked if they served food, the owner replied, "Not before 1:00 AM, we're not in the Netherlands." Very disappointed. I left after just one drink.

I've been coming here once a week since 2022, and I've also been with several new people.
And this is the first time I've been disappointed.
The waitress was unpleasant and kept making snide remarks. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to this restaurant, despite the two lovely cooks. She also made the same remarks to other customers.
In short, disappointed.
23/07/2026: An excellent spot in the narrow streets of Aix's historic center for lunch, offering outstanding value for money. The portions are generous, the dishes are delicious, and the staff is exceptionally warm and friendly. Highly recommended!

19/07/2026: Avoid this place at all costs, the welcome and service were terrible, we left without eating after waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes even though our order had been taken, they literally treated us like idiots.
29/05/2026: Was hoping to go there for dinner but the man turned us down because we didn’t have a reservation all for other people to come in as they please and not to mention all the seating inside was free too. We believe that it may be because we were tourists as we can’t think of any other explanation. Very disappointing experience and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone hoping for a meal.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the speed of service: I hardly had to wait for my order. The dishes were delicious and served quickly. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a restaurant where you're well received and served efficiently. We had a very good meal and the staff were very attentive.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
11/07/2026: We booked a table for two hoping for a pleasant meal, but it was a culinary disaster. The starter was tasteless fried prawns, and the main course was a whole sole, bones and all (I wish I'd been told it would be a whole fish...) drowning in curry sauce.
The chef seems to have a passion for paprika; he puts it everywhere, absolutely everywhere—even the rib-eye steak smelled of paprika.
We suspect they used too many frozen products.
