17/09/2026: Although we were there during the off-season, we still managed to chat with the people at the refuge and buy some beer (€6 per beer, and no free water available, but it's a remote area, so not surprising, but something to bring). There are bivouac sites nearby with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to see any ibex.

03/09/2026: I was very disappointed by this experience, especially considering the very positive reviews. I completely understand the constraints of a mountain refuge: no running water, complicated supplies, vegetarian meals, etc. But that doesn't excuse everything. The outdoor facilities are in very poor condition. We were asked to leave our bags in containers outside, which is understandable, except that these containers were completely broken, battered, and full of holes. What happens if it rains during the night? You could easily end up with all your belongings soaked. Meals are eaten outside when the group is large, which I can understand. But when it rains, we're supposed to eat under a completely torn and badly damaged canvas. We can accept the constraints of a mountain refuge without being forced to eat in the rain. Regarding the meals, I have nothing against vegetarianism, but I simply didn't find them tasty. Yet there are plenty of good vegetarian meals available in France. I can understand the dry toilets, but they still need to be properly maintained. During our visit, the cleanliness left much to be desired. Finally, I sometimes feel that the refuge takes advantage of its location: on the Platé Desert, there aren't really any alternatives, and hikers are practically forced to pass through. Given the price, I think the service offered by the French Alpine Club really deserves improvement. I'm obviously not asking for the comfort of a hotel, but a minimum level of maintenance, cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities seems perfectly reasonable.

30/08/2026: We had pizza and pasta, we ate very well, we only saw one cook, the dishes still came out quite quickly, the waiter was very nice, despite the fast pace.

23/08/2026: The wait time was far too long. This opinion was clearly shared by many customers seated around us. Especially when you see the cashier continuing to take takeout orders even though the restaurant was packed. The pizzas, once they arrived, were decent despite a very hard crust. However, a big shout-out to the only two servers who were there for the entire restaurant (???) and who were working at a pace similar to the runners of the GRP... they were like machines, thankfully they were doing their best to keep the service running.

02/09/2026: I don't often leave negative reviews, but this time, it was impossible to stay silent. I paid €11.20 for a tuna sandwich that was frankly inedible. As a result, I didn't eat anything and only ordered a drink. At that price, you'd expect a minimum level of quality. The value for money is clearly disastrous. They seriously need to rethink the food, the quality of the ingredients, and the prices, because paying €11.20 to leave hungry is truly outrageous. Very disappointed, I won't be back.

24/07/2026: My god, so many restaurant professionals here. Always complaining, "We don't have this, we don't have that," and so on and so forth. So here we're all about authenticity, no frills, no fuss. We eat well, we drink, and we have fun. We're not in a convent or at some Michelin-starred restaurant where you pay 150 euros for a three-carrot and half-potato meal. Want fast service? Go to the cafeteria or the burger joint; it'll be quicker for almost the same price.

13/07/2026: Unfortunately, there was a staff shortage in the kitchen. We waited two hours for our first course, and there were several mistakes in our order. The food was quite good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The menu described the French toast as having caramel, almonds, and iced popcorn, but none of those ingredients were present. As compensation, we were at least offered complimentary after-dinner drinks.

15/08/2026: I hope it's not an Italian making the pizzas, because shame on them! And don't even get me started on the "Mexican" dish; we were extremely disappointed. Otherwise, my glass of Coke was perfect! PS: Avoid this place if you have a discerning palate. The waiters were fantastic 👌🏽 super friendly and professional.

12/06/2026: The service was nice, but quite slow, we had to wait a long time for the food, which was very tasty. Their Formula 1 collection is also interesting.

21/07/2026: Fast and welcoming service, sadly the food is not authentic. The phat Kaprao is far from the original taste, flat, oily and without wok-chi.

25/08/2026: I've revised my review; the staff is fantastic. Even the dog was well received. The service was quick and friendly. The cappuccino was nice... They don't accept credit cards for orders under €10.

12/07/2026: I was surprised by the quality of the food offered at breakfast and dinner. The chef is excellent and cooks primarily with local and seasonal produce! One small drawback: the rooms are very poorly soundproofed.

16/06/2026: May 2026. Hotel located on the outskirts of Rennes. They were painting when we stayed. It's a hotel that specializes in group bookings, like ours of 40 people. Dinner consisted of a salad with cheese and ham, tough pork loin (no one in our group could eat it) with spaghetti and vegetables, inedible green beans, and a cream tart. Breakfast was also very basic with little variety. The room was small, the bathroom spacious but old. They only provide one bath towel per person and no hand towels. The room fits a double bed with a comfortable mattress and pillows. It has something resembling a wardrobe, a table with a chair, and a window overlooking some hedges at the back of the building. As is common in France, the TV only broadcasts French channels.

29/04/2026: Hi, Your response is just like your service: completely off the mark. Serving a corked wine happens, but getting annoyed when a customer points it out after tasting it is just ridiculous. Yes, you take a sip to check, that's literally the point, even your colleague did it. As for acting like a self-assured expert in front of people in the industry, that's a bit clumsy. Anyway, no worries, the pleasure of not coming back is widely shared 😉

23/08/2026: We were treated to typical Corsican hospitality. I hope the owner is only like that with tourists; otherwise, he should invest in a vending machine—the pizzas would be just as good... It's a shame about the beautiful storefront, which is much more inviting from the outside.

20/07/2026: Credit where credit is due. We ate richly topped and very flavorful pizzas. The staff were friendly and took the time to speak with me, a tourist, to explain some ambiguities on the menu. You can eat on-site, but it lacks atmosphere, though that doesn't detract from the pizzas at all. Thanks!!
