The Amorino boutique is a true haven of sweetness, an address that celebrates the art of Italian artisanal gelato with a unique touch of elegance.
What immediately catches the eye is the meticulously curated window display (as seen in the photo): this season, it's adorned with decorations in warm autumnal colors—leaves, oranges, and small packages—creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's a visual invitation to indulge.
But Amorino's true signature is its iconic creation: the flower-shaped (rose) gelato. This ingenious visual means that you first buy the gelato with your eyes. The great advantage of this petal-like presentation is that it allows you to mix as many flavors as you like in a single cone. The gelato and sorbet are renowned for their intense flavor and quality. Beyond classic flavors, Amorino also offers a collection of macarons filled with ice cream or sorbet (Macaron al Gelato), combining the crispness of the macaron with the refreshing taste of ice cream.
It's a gourmet and visual experience, a must for those with a sweet tooth who seek excellence and beauty on the plate or in the cone! 😉🤣

But that's not why you come here; you come here for traditional French dishes (snails, veal tongue, lamb, sweetbreads, andouillette sausage, lemon crème brûlée, etc.), well-prepared and generously served. A good wine selection. Efficient and friendly service. Given its popularity, reservations seem essential: one weekday evening, three people showed up in succession and couldn't get a table because it was full.

The rice is unlimited, which is rare in Paris.
The chicken with tripe and taro (you have to book) is really worth it; the taro is incredibly tender. The rabbit is good and boneless, perfect if you like spicy food.
The new duck is also excellent, ideal with a drink.
16/02/2026: The brightly festive poached fish in chili broth was exceptionally tender, while the beef with silky tofu was richly aromatic and perfect with rice. The refreshing mushroom and spinach provided a light contrast, and the classic yet deeply satisfying dry-fried green beans were full of flavor. The house specialty, “Kenken Duck,” which combines duck neck, chicken wings, pork ribs, and sweet potato fries, brought together a delightful mix of textures and flavors, making the New Year’s Eve dinner truly abundant and joyful.
On a slightly chilly evening, the predominantly spicy dishes paired perfectly with refreshing hibiscus tea and aloe vera juice, which helped cleanse the palate. The warm, soft pumpkin rice cakes with brown sugar syrup were also a pleasant surprise.
This restaurant, Dao Restaurant (55 Bd Saint-Marcel, 75013 Paris), comes highly recommended for seasoned lovers of spicy food—the heat is authentic and natural, with fragrance taking precedence over pure spiciness. A classic choice for festive occasions and gatherings with close friends.

18/02/2026: I love this restaurant, I go there often to eat with my friends! I usually order the chicken korma or the chicken tikka masala, and it's absolutely delicious. I can't get enough of their mango or rose lassi, it's amazing! Plus, you get papadum as an appetizer served with a delicious sauce. And how can I not mention the cheese naan, which is to die for! In short, go without hesitation!

Our server Jona made an effort to speak English with me as I cannot speak French, and to speak French with my friend who was practicing. She helped us with wine and food recommendations when we could not decide and her suggestions were great! Would love to come here next time I’m in Paris, for the food and especially for the service. 15/02/2026: A real gem! We're from Oléron and were looking for a good restaurant for a gourmet getaway in the Brouage Citadel this Sunday at lunchtime, and we found it! Open year-round, with great reviews and eels on the menu, that was all it took to convince us to book. Thank you, Google Maps! 🙃 In the end, everything exceeded our expectations. First, the wide selection on the menu, the excellent value for money, the quality of the wine we chose, creative and delicious homemade cuisine, generous portions, a warm atmosphere, a small seating area, and what a welcome! 08/02/2026: Le Moulin de Croy was a wonderful discovery. It ticks all the boxes.
The chef personally presents the menu, knows the origin and history of his ingredients, and even shows you the cut of meat you ordered and flames it right in front of you! The restaurant itself is lovely, well-decorated, with well-spaced tables, all handmade by the chef (of course!). The ingredients are high-quality and homemade. They are passionate people, proud of their restaurant, and very approachable!
It was my first visit, but certainly not my last!
Edit: I went back a second time for my birthday, and it was even better! The scallops with the thin slices of tuna that practically danced in the heat, and the vanilla ice cream from a local producer—whatever you have on your plate, it will have been carefully selected and prepared to perfection. The owners are very proud of their business, and rightly so!
