16/07/2026: We arrived in the afternoon. There was a long wait for three ice creams despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Hygiene in the restaurant was deplorable (tables not cleaned, very dirty floor, smell of urine in the dining area near the restrooms...). We didn't see a single employee cleaning during our entire visit.

06/07/2026: Passing through La Bourboule the weekend of July 4-5, 2026, on our way back to our accommodation, we stopped by Chalet de l'Ours. We spoke to the pizza maker, who was very pleasant and friendly. He invited us to sit down before taking our order. He was missing an ingredient for one of the pizzas we had ordered, and he told us right away and offered a substitute. The pizzas arrived, and to be honest, they were excellent! The crust was thin, not at all thick, and the toppings were just right—not too heavy, but made with quality ingredients and full of flavor! I highly recommend this restaurant, as the owner is incredibly kind and caring, especially towards children! See you soon!

30/04/2026: I went in today between 12:30 and 1:00 PM. I placed a small order. The employee put the sandwich next to the register and told their colleague, "My order." In the end, the person in question left, leaving me standing there. I waited while customers filed past behind me. "You were very lucky the order was for a colleague, otherwise I would have stood you up." So, to summarize your way of doing things, one person takes the customer's order, a second person handles the payment if everything is going well, or, like me today, they take the order and then leave the customer standing there. It's been a long time since I've been back to your establishment, and now I understand better why things haven't changed.

22/04/2026: Good bread and open on Sundays, which is great.

08/06/2026: We dined at L'Épicerie with high expectations, especially given the cheese-focused concept, but we left very disappointed. The welcome was pleasant, and we were seated. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short. I chose a €40 goat cheese platter, one of the restaurant's featured specialties. Before ordering, I asked for information about the cheeses on offer. The first server, who had just arrived, couldn't help me, which is understandable. Another server then took over and asked the chef, but she ultimately couldn't provide any further details. So, I enjoyed my platter without any introduction or explanation of the cheeses, which is particularly disappointing for a restaurant that emphasizes this experience. Regarding the cheese board itself, most of the cheeses were very strong, with little variety in flavor. The bread served seemed somewhat haphazard, in limited quantities, and I had to ask for more bread as well as the bottle of San Pellegrino I had ordered, which had been forgotten. My partner ordered marinated poultry. When he asked what the side dish was, the waitress told him it was risotto. He then added a portion of fries. However, when the dish arrived, there was no risotto, without any explanation or apology from the staff. Ultimately, despite a friendly welcome, the lack of product knowledge, the oversights in the dining room, the lack of explanation for a cheese board at this price, and the inconsistencies in the dishes served significantly detracted from our experience. A disappointment considering the prices charged and the advertised concept.

24/04/2026: Quiet room. Noisy front door. Impeccable cleaning. Pleasant housekeeping staff. Spacious and pleasant lobby. Bring your own bottled water; the tap water is disgusting: too chlorinated. The water in the bathtub is light gray. The bedding (uncomfortable mattress, bed linen too short so it constantly leaks)

17/03/2026: Nice hotel with lovely staff who all try to be helpful. As mentioned previously in reviews rooms are slightly dated & not designed well … with doors opening awkwardly restricting space… no bottle water in room & TV not a smart one… saying all that the room was comfortable for the one night we stayed .. breakfast was really good with plenty of choice .. we had free parking at the front of the hotel which limited… We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant ( review on restaurant) .. the hotel served a purpose breaking our journey on our way home .. we wouldn’t hesitate using it again as the price was excellent.

06/06/2026: We had a wonderful time! The welcome was particularly warm, and the staff went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay from beginning to end. The rooms are comfortable and clean, offering a calm and relaxing setting in the heart of the region. As for the restaurant, the cuisine is generous, delicious, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Each dish is carefully prepared, and the service is both professional and friendly. The family atmosphere, the quality of the services, and the value for money make this establishment one we wholeheartedly recommend. A big thank you to the entire team for their hospitality and professionalism. We will gladly return on our next visit to the region. ☺️

08/08/2026: Why wasn't my review published? I'll say it again: the welcome was icy cold; I had to be the one to say hello. The restaurant wasn't cleaned between the two days I was there. It was impossible to get dinner because you have to book in the morning! Unbelievable! In the evening, we saw a few occupied tables, the rest of the restaurant was empty, and the menu at the entrance said "Full"... In short, I wouldn't recommend it.

29/05/2026: It's a bit early to comment on the hotel and/or restaurant's services. I went in simply to inquire about a reservation and was greeted by a smiling and helpful hostess who showed me around the rooms, which I found particularly pleasant (especially the one with a balcony and sea view) and spacious. I've often driven past this establishment without ever stopping. It just goes to show, "opportunity makes the thief." To be continued...

20/05/2026: I'm giving it one star because zero isn't an option, but the woman who greets you at this bar/tobacconist is incredibly unpleasant. (The toilets are supposedly private.) Anyway… And the coffee? Don't even get me started! It was terrible, so I didn't drink it. This woman even threw it on the sidewalk behind our car, which was parked in front of the bar—unbelievable! The bar lives up to its name, (THE CALVARY), my advice is: don't stop there!

13/12/2025: I rarely write restaurant reviews, but today I came to have lunch at your place. Besides the price, I think my 12-year-old daughter makes better pasta than you do… The dish was bland. The pasta was cooked al dente (okay!), but the mushroom sauce was nothing like a sauce… a milky liquid with button mushrooms still full of water. No seasoning whatsoever. In short, I wanted a good pasta dish, and Gino is only Italian in the color of its storefront!

27/11/2025: Mandatory set menu! Not listed on the menus...main course + dessert + drinks (too late to leave). The main course was pizza-panini?? At first, we didn't know what it was. In the end, it was just bread with a lot of empty space inside.... which was fine, I wasn't very hungry! For drinks, you're entitled to everything except..... water! But it's good for your health! They're taking us for a ride.... The owner or employee wasn't very friendly because you asked questions. In short, it's the last time, not even for a coffee. And as the saying goes, it was better before!
