23/05/2026: Avoid this place! The food wasn't cooked as we requested (well-done vs. medium), our table was placed on the road because the restaurant was too noisy due to a group of young people, the service was slow, and the waitress was arrogant. When it came time to pay, she asked me to wait until she finished her cigarette break (she was sitting outside at a table next to ours)! AVOID

16/05/2026: A lovely establishment, a hotel offering good value for money, combined with a restaurant boasting a varied and high-quality menu. All served with a cheerful atmosphere.

24/07/2026: Excellent fish shop and superb delicatessen section

09/06/2026: Dirty cutlery, broken fridge so no chilled bottled wine, wine by the glass tasted like boxed wine. Oyster not very fresh. It's a shame, because it's a good concept that could add something special to the fish shop.

14/08/2026: A wooded and flowery campsite located near the forest in a fairly hilly area – lots of hills: something to keep in mind (walkers, cyclists... if you're not very athletic, this is important). Very well maintained, with a friendly team at reception, the bar, and in maintenance. They were very responsive; we had two power outages in our mobile home, which were quickly resolved, and a burnt-out lightbulb was changed in 5 minutes! Dog friendly! Our Golden Retriever was well received, but unfortunately, the coastline of the entire region isn't dog friendly! There are no nearby beaches where dogs are allowed, even in the evening (you have to defy the rules and go to smaller, less supervised beaches). For us, this was a real drawback – no long evening walks with the family by the water! Luckily, our day trip to Île d'Oléron allowed us a proper evening at the beach with our dog. Our mobile home: It was a privately owned mobile home (I found out too late; I don't like renting from private individuals). Clean (despite a dirty pair of underwear under the mattress of one of the children's beds), the interior was fine except for the bedding, which was disastrous. It really needs replacing; none of us slept comfortably! On the other hand, the exterior wasn't really to my taste: a lot of decorations, all kinds of lamps, rugs, mismatched flooring, and a small wooden terrace cluttered with an outdoor kitchen... (I prefer a minimalist decor to feel a bit more at home). The swimming pool: Perfect, a very decent size, always clean and supervised. The campsite offers activities for children and adults, which I won't comment on as we didn't participate. The snack bar, La Paillote: We ate well there several times. It's true that the hill is quite tiring when you drive up it several times a day. The beaches are right across the road; they're really beautiful, but you can tell they're at the estuary, so the water is very sandy. Just step outside the campsite and walk for 5 minutes. The village of Meschers is charming, close to St. Georges de Didonne, Royan, and Talmont (don't miss it!).

08/08/2026: We spent a week as a family at Camping Les Loges. Unfortunately, in our opinion, this campsite doesn't really live up to its 5-star rating. The swimming pool is far too small for a campsite of this category, and we expected much better. The evening entertainment was also quite disappointing, especially for children. We've stayed at other campsites, and the evening entertainment offered was much more interesting, varied, and well-organized. We also found the staff to be very discreet, almost too discreet: sometimes it felt like there was hardly anyone in the campsite. It lacked a bit of atmosphere and energy. The campsite is also quite hilly, which isn't very practical with young children. Despite everything, we had a good week as a family and enjoyed our vacation. But to be honest, we won't be returning to this campsite. For an establishment advertised as 5-star, we expected much more entertainment and a lively atmosphere.

04/04/2026: Absolutely avoid this place. That's the last time I'll ever set foot in there. Pay close attention to the meat they serve you: they just scoop it straight from a bowl and give you yesterday's leftovers… I'll stop there; more in the other comments.

09/09/2026: The quality of the pizzas is catastrophic; I just ordered a burger and my stomach hurts and I feel like throwing up. I seriously doubt the quality of the ingredients. The gentleman, however, is very nice.

31/08/2026: Today around 6 PM, I went into this restaurant to use the restroom urgently. The unpleasant owner told me, "If you need to use the restroom, you have to buy something." Of course, I refused, and she threw me out! It's unacceptable! No wonder they have more customers in their little restaurant... In that case, they should simply change careers if they don't like it! My advice: don't go to this restaurant if you want to be treated like dirt. Avoid it at all costs!!!

20/08/2026: A very traditional feeling cafe that has not changed with time. Stop for a coffee along the Bicycle route.

10/06/2026: I'm a tour operator and work closely with the Accor chain. This IBIS STYLE doesn't live up to the quality standards it bears. It's an older property, with rooms that probably haven't changed since it opened. The rooms have new, comfortable beds, but the rest of the furnishings are damaged from wear. The carpet is so worn that it no longer has the red and black color it once had. In the first Google photo, that hint of yellow isn't a reflection or a hue, but rather the color has faded over time (just look under the bed to find the original color). The bathroom isn't much better, with a wooden door with chipped paint and tub panels that fall off. Breakfast is rather meager, with few products and undrinkable coffee. The only positives: The kind and welcoming receptionists, the private parking, and the proximity to the city center. This hotel should be downgraded to an IBIS BUDGET!

09/06/2026: Basic Ibis hotel. Several problems arose during my stay. The Wi-Fi connection was nonexistent, forcing me to use my own phone; there was a problem with the payment terminal. Breakfast was basic: cold cuts, fruit juice, bread, pastries – the standard fare. The rooms were adequate. The reception staff were welcoming, friendly, and smiling.

11/08/2026: Superb experience. The waiter was extremely helpful and really good.

05/06/2026: Terrible atmosphere, unfriendly staff, dirty brasserie – avoid it! I do not recommend it.

24/08/2026: I booked this place for my birthday. There were four of us girls, and the reservation was obviously in my name. Upon arrival, the security guards refused us entry without any reason or explanation. My birthday was ruined! I absolutely do not recommend it. The guards were very insulting and threatening when I said I was going to leave a review. This city is a complete mess... As a Parisian, I've never seen anything like it. A little more civility, gentlemen, please! It's just a restaurant.

15/08/2026: We had a reservation for the evening, but one of the bouncers wouldn't let us in before the doorman even arrived... My husband's shoes were a problem, but flip-flops or jeans and sneakers were fine for the others!! Otherwise, your racial profiling is absolutely ridiculous!

03/10/2026: Just by looking at the state of the toilet brush and the changing table, you can tell they offer the bare minimum. Hygiene is appalling, the food is frozen, expensive, and undercooked, and the coffee is curdled. Outrageous.

26/08/2026: I bought a kougelhopf yesterday. What a disappointment! It had no kougelhopf flavor whatsoever, but instead a very strong taste of rancid butter. Horrible. Poulaillon has a good range of products, but this is truly beyond disappointing.
