24/06/2026: Bland. The name doesn't do justice to the Basque terroir, with a salad that was disappointing in every way. Luckily, the heatwave killed my appetite. Give it a miss.

20/05/2026: An Alès institution for at least 30 years. The salads are delicious and varied, and the desserts are just as good. Very affordable prices. Top-notch service and waiters.

12/05/2026: We were greeted by the owner, if I understood correctly. Unfortunately, the welcome wasn't very warm, and we found the service rather rushed. The salads were sorely lacking in seasoning, the charcuterie wasn't of high quality, and the omelet was seriously lacking in salt. The positive points, however, remain the prices, which are reasonable, and the decor, which is beautiful.

23/06/2026: Stopped by this bistro near Place du Marché Saint-Honoré. The terrace is nice and it’s in a convenient spot, so it was busy as usual. The food was fine overall. The côte de boeuf and fries were genuinely excellent though, really well cooked and tasty. The prices are still a bit high for what you get.OK if you’re already in the area.

02/07/2026: We came to enjoy half a dozen oysters as a family. A very warm welcome, oysters of exceptional quality, and for those who don't like oysters, there are mussels and shrimp. You can also buy and take away. Perfect, and we'll definitely be back! 😉 And thank you for the carafe of fresh water.

30/06/2026: BEWARE!!! We ordered 12 oysters and one was dead with a very unpleasant smell. We told the waitress, who very politely went to tell the manager/owner... to our surprise, she looked at her and made a face and gestures that suggested... they're tourists.... I will never go back to that place. There are other restaurants to choose from. I didn't complain to ask for anything in return, just so they would know, because it's my money and I decide how I spend it.... And I won't be going back to that place.

07/07/2026: A fantastic restaurant. Everything is homemade, from start to finish. The dishes are carefully prepared and full of flavor. The welcome is superb, the waiter is top-notch. Lou Grilladou is a must-visit! I highly recommend it.

07/07/2026: We were in Carcassonne for 3 nights recently. Our first night, we picked a place at random and were very disappointed with the quality of the food, however on our 2nd night we ate at Table d'Alais which I had researched before coming and had pre-booked. We were not disappointed. There are several levels of fixed price menu to choose from, as well as à la carte, varying from 26€ to €79 and, whilst the menu is small in options, what there is, is delicious. I had a cold veloute mise en bouche , octopus for my main course which came with a jet black cushion of potato coloured with squid ink - never seen anything like it before and it was intriguing. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the potato was creamy with hidden lardons of bacon, and a perfectly presented dessert. My friends had veal which was served pink and was lovely, and risotto, was was tasty, but could have been warmer. The staff were efficient and allowed us to taste a few wines before committing to one we liked (not something offered everywhere) and the bill, including a decent tip came to €180 for us all - very reasonable for high quality food, wine and service. The dining space is quite small, but is air conditioned, making it a very pleasant experience overall. If you like elegant dining, then I recommend Table d'Alais to you.

06/06/2026: I've been coming to this restaurant for several years now. We always receive a very warm welcome. I prefer to dine in rather than order takeout, but it's also possible. I particularly recommend the colorful ravioli and the noodles in broth with an egg 😍. A great restaurant near my home that I enjoy going to regularly.
