07/05/2026: The burgers are really very good and high quality. We don't go there anymore because we don't eat that kind of food, but if you like burgers, go without hesitation. Plus, you'll be supporting local businesses rather than those big fast-food chains (which serve tasteless and unhealthy products).

08/06/2026: Came here with my boyfriend for a date night in Colmar. Great food, pork cheek was melting in my mouth, and the cream of asparagus, I could drink a whole bowl! Old man serving us was very polite and friendly, he recommended a great golden Gewurtztraminer wine! Service was a bit slow, that’s the only thing I’ll say!

03/06/2026: The Michelin Green Guide recommended this establishment, and the menu looked quite tempting, so I headed to Maison Rouge for dinner (it's best to book, especially during peak season). The salmon was delicious, accompanied by a sauce that perfectly complemented it. The wine, a Gamay, recommended by a smiling and humorous woman, was also an excellent choice. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and the time I spent in this restaurant, despite the heatwave.

07/06/2026: Avoid at all costs!!! The waiters were incredibly rude. They initially wanted to seat us on the terrace under the scaffolding, then next to the toilets, but no one came to serve us, and we ended up leaving on our own. We were very disappointed! We'll never go back.

06/06/2026: I didn't have any particular expectations going in, so I was very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the impeccable cleanliness of the place, the hospitality of the staff, and above all, the exceptional quality of the meat and fries—I've rarely eaten better. An unforgettable moment was when I asked for an extra portion of fries, and they gave them to me on the house! The portions are really generous, and surprisingly, there are even vegetarian options. If you want to have a good time and eat good meat without breaking the bank, this is the place to go!

01/04/2026: We went there for the open house for my son, who wants to become a waiter. We received a very warm welcome from a student who gave us a tour of the kitchens, classrooms, and other facilities. We also had the opportunity to chat with some of the other students. The apprentices all greeted us. Their professionalism is immediately apparent. The setting is magnificent, in a castle that has retained its charm. We highly recommend it!

06/03/2026: Expensive for what we ate. Non-local products, unless Fleury Michon is from the region... Sorry, but apart from the wine, which was also non-local but of good quality, everything else was frozen. The fries were too salty, the ribeye steak was frozen, and the children's menu was expensive for what was served. In short, we had to ask for the fruit puree that was supposed to be included in the children's menu when we were leaving because our child had ordered a scoop of ice cream instead. 31/05/2026: An absolutely catastrophic experience at Restaurant de la Carpe, avoid it at all costs. Let's start from the beginning: I arrived at noon. I was served at 2:30 PM. Yes, you read that right. A TWO AND A HALF HOUR wait for food. At this point, it's no longer lunch, it's being held hostage. I could have caught the carp myself, cooked it, and gone home. Speaking of which, let's talk about the "signature dish": the carp. Bland, tasteless, unseasoned, soulless. It's as if they grabbed a fish from a puddle and threw it on the plate without even considering whether it tasted good. For a restaurant named "La Carpe" (The Carp), it's quite a paradox not to know how to cook it properly. All that for this, after a two-and-a-half-hour wait. But the worst was yet to come: dessert. I ordered a Dame Blanche, a classic of French cuisine that ANY self-respecting professional knows. As a reminder to the kitchen staff, who clearly skipped their basic cooking classes: a Dame Blanche is vanilla ice cream, hot chocolate, and whipped cream. PERIOD. No fruit. It's literally in the name: "WHITE." So they bring me something with a million pieces of fruit on it. I politely point out the mistake, and then comes the kicker: they explain that it's MY FAULT because I didn't "let them know" that I didn't want fruit. Seriously? I have to tell them now that a Dame Blanche doesn't contain fruit? Do I also have to point out that black coffee isn't supposed to be green? And when you dare to make the slightest comment, the owner speaks rudely, in an aggressive and contemptuous tone. No manners whatsoever, no concept of customer service. You feel like you're intruding by eating in your own restaurant. The funniest thing about all this is the pretension. Clearly, the chef fancies himself a haute cuisine chef, but the gap between his stated ambitions and the reality on the plate is simply comical. The cherry on top: "The photos and description are not contractual." Fantastic. So you can serve anything, any old way, make people wait two and a half hours, and flout the most basic rules of French cuisine, all while being unpleasant, and then hide behind a legal disclaimer to avoid taking any responsibility. No self-reflection, no apologies, no professionalism. Endless service, bland dishes, a disastrous dessert, and an unpleasant, pretentious owner. The perfect combination. If you value your palate, your time, or your sanity, steer clear. Absolutely avoid. Zero stars if that were possible.
