27/09/2026: What a culinary experience! From the amuse-bouche to the starter, main courses, and desserts, everything was magical, and what can I say about that view over all of Paris? Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and professionalism.

27/09/2026: Beautiful location, deeply underwhelming experience The Jules Verne is a perfect example of how an extraordinary setting cannot compensate for a disappointing restaurant experience. The view is spectacular and undoubtedly the highlight. Unfortunately, almost everything else fell well below what you would expect from a restaurant of this reputation. The service was particularly disappointing: the staff appeared poorly trained, and the level of attention and professionalism was simply not what you expect at this kind of establishment. And then there is the food. Very disappointing. Several dishes had an oddly gelatinous texture, and overall the cooking lacked the refinement, precision and pleasure I would expect from a two-Michelin-star restaurant. It felt surprisingly disconnected from the level of the setting and reputation. The biggest issue, however, is the lack of overall value. This is not simply about the price being high — you expect to pay a premium for an experience like this. The problem is that the premium does not translate into a correspondingly exceptional meal or service. You are essentially paying for the Eiffel Tower experience and the view, while the restaurant itself does not live up to those expectations. One additional point worth knowing: there are quite a few restrictions associated with the experience. For example, you cannot go outside to smoke, which was not clearly communicated beforehand. If your main objective is to enjoy the Eiffel Tower and the view, there are other options. The restaurant on the first floor offers a very similar setting and view, while the overall food and service experience is not dramatically different — at a fraction of the cost. In short: spectacular view, disappointing restaurant. The location is five-star; the food and service unfortunately aren’t. I would not return.

04/10/2026: The food was delicious, fresh, and well-prepared, with generous portions and great attention to flavor. Everything we ate was to our liking, and we truly enjoyed it. The staff was very hospitable, and we had a good laugh with them, which created a relaxed atmosphere. They were also incredibly sweet to our French Bulldog who came along, and even offered water for our little dog. Definitely recommended for a pleasant meal!

07/09/2026: The food was well-prepared and very good, but the service was rather cold and slow...🥱 and there was absolutely no atmosphere. Not recommended for children; the menus are too expensive.

21/08/2026: So happy to have discovered this place. It's wonderful to be able to eat fresh, delicious food. The daily menu is truly exceptional, offering excellent value for money. The portions are generous, and everything is homemade, even the bread, which, by the way, is absolutely delicious. 27/09/2026: Had a weekend in Calais with my family, came here for breakfast. And I can say hand on heart that every single thing we had was amazing. Panini's a burger and a cake all exceptionally good. If we end up in Calais again sometime we will be back here for any meal of the day.

04/08/2026: I needed the restaurant and hotel to celebrate my partner's surprise birthday. The reservation was made three months in advance of the event and remotely (I live in Asia). All communication was via email, and the hotel was very quick and patient in responding to my emails and questions, with professionalism and courtesy. The reservation included the restaurant with a wide variety of dishes (including cake) and rooms that they adapted to my specific needs. Their website was quite clear and very helpful. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious, with ample time to enjoy them. The dining room was large enough to accommodate all the guests and included a small dance floor. The venue is very pleasant, with a garden behind the hotel's facade, which the rooms overlook. It was spacious enough for both the children and the adults to enjoy a short walk. I highly recommend this hotel and the service they provided during our stay, especially for the holidays.

A magnificent setting, impeccable service—thank you, Pauline, for your kindness and attentiveness—and the buffet, entirely suggested by L'Orangerie and which I wholeheartedly approved, was a true delight. Everything was excellent, from the appetizer to the dessert. Congratulations to the Chef for this wonderful success. A sentiment shared by all the guests. And finally, a huge thank you to Guillaume for accepting despite the last-minute arrangements.

28/06/2026: A lovely discovery last night! We were lacking inspiration for dinner and spotted this little pizzeria not far from our place. We pushed open the door and discovered a timeless spot that we particularly enjoyed. We started with an aperitif in the garden, which was very pleasant in the heat, and we each enjoyed a pizza 🍕. To our surprise, the crust wasn't what we expected, but it was excellent and made with quality ingredients. Our plates were completely empty! The service was warm and friendly, even familial. We'll definitely be back to try the other options on the menu.

21/07/2026: Very disappointed. I'd been there a few months ago and it was perfect. The owner and my usual waitress were excellent. The other waitress didn't seem to know how to smile and appeared to dislike her job... I sincerely hope it wasn't the same cook as a few months ago... Pleasant enough for a drink, but that's all.
