Inside, you'll discover a warm and colorful atmosphere, with lovely artwork that gives the place a lot of character. As for the food, it's just the way we like it: classic French dishes, generous portions, and very reasonably priced. The service is impeccable, and the wine list is also worth a look. And depending on the season, there are two different atmospheres: in the warmer months, a small terrace with your feet in the sand, nestled in a quiet patio. And in winter, a cozy fireplace creates an even warmer ambiance! A place that deserves to be discovered! 18/09/2026: Terrible service. We asked for the menu to see what items contained gluten, and some weren't listed. When I asked the waitress, she said she didn't know and assumed they didn't—completely uninformed. We ordered three dishes, all "GLUTEN-FREE." When the food arrived, they didn't even have the water we'd ordered 20 minutes earlier. We had to ask for plates to serve ourselves. They brought us the "GLUTEN-FREE" cheese board, as stated on the menu, but (as the waiter confirmed) it came with fried onions that CONTAINED GLUTEN. Furthermore, a glass fell from a table that hadn't been cleared (because they weren't clearing any tables despite not having to do anything). The waiters walked by, kicked the broken glass, and none of them bothered to pick up the shards, which ended up scattered all over the terrace. In the hour and a half we were eating, not one of them even picked up a broom to sweep them up.

15/09/2026: Terrible service — the blonde girl at the bar was rude and kept giving me dirty looks. Even worse: she scooped ice with her bare hands straight from the bottle container, then handled cash with the same hands 🤢 Basic hygiene tools exist for a reason — not using them is pretty gross. Won't be back.

18/09/2026: My girlfriend and I had a great time. The portions were generous, and the service was quick. We highly recommend it for the quality of the meal!

13/09/2026: Very disappointing meal here last night, September 26, 2012. Most of the dishes were far too overcooked, even burnt: popadoms, onion baguettes… I ordered chicken korma: not a trace of almonds or coconut. My friend ordered butter chicken, which looked practically the same as the korma! Very bland, tasteless, and colorless. We ordered two different biryanis, but they looked identical. I had a house cocktail, but I think they forgot the gin! The waiter was in a terrible mood. Overall, it was really not good and it wasn't cheap – I wouldn't recommend this place.

02/09/2026: Quite disappointed. While the restaurant in the village is indeed large and pleasant, and the servers are friendly, that's not enough. Prices have increased significantly for a quality that is more than mediocre and smaller portions. It's no longer worth the trip. The Carolingian restaurant will be missed by the residents of Saint-Phil and the surrounding area…

30/09/2026: the worst meal i had in the whole France in several years i’ve been living here the starters were cold from the fridge, not fresh, absolutely bad in the taste the main dish was also not good and so simple as it’s not served in the restaurant but in a canteen i had to ask for the bread, but could only get one piece… and then ask again to serve a piece to everyone at the table it was very disappointing especially with the price of 40€, which is the price for lunch in a really good restaurant all 3 of us were shocked and upset

25/09/2026: The starter was a tasteless pâté, the main course was two undercooked slices of filet mignon, and the portion was too small for adults. The dessert was okay. I do not recommend this restaurant. The servers were unfriendly.

07/10/2026: Delicious breakfasts and a beautiful setting, but the best part is the lady who works there: so kind, smiling, helpful, and warm. She has a heart of gold, and it was a real pleasure to meet her. We'll definitely be back! Thank you again! ❤️

03/10/2026: After mealtimes, it's no longer possible to order an espresso or a long black, but surprisingly, double espressos and coffees with cream still work.

29/10/2026: I strongly advise everyone to avoid this restaurant. This is the second time I’ve updated my review. The owner is two-faced and dishonest, and the staff treat customers with disrespect. If you don’t want you to say I’m giving you a bad review, then I’ll give it to you Objectively speaking, the food is actually quite decent for international students, but the service is really hard to describe in a positive way — I would even say it is terrible. The younger female waitress, or perhaps the owner, had an acceptable attitude, but the older female waitress was extremely rude and impatient. When my boyfriend and I entered the restaurant, she very forcefully tried to seat us at a table in the corner next to the toilet. At that time, there was only one other table of customers in the entire restaurant, while all the other tables were completely empty. We compromised and chose a very small table instead. While we were ordering, this older female waitress completely pushed my frustration over the edge. I asked her whether the douzhi could be served at room temperature, or at least not cold. She told me she did not know, and her attitude at the time was extremely impatient. I then patiently explained to her again and asked whether, IF it turned out they did not have it at room temperature, I could change it to another drink instead. However, this older waitress simply changed my drink to something else immediately. I noticed that your Chinese is actually quite good, so I assume you should understand what the word “if” means, right? Secondly, this is your own restaurant. You do not even know what drinks your own restaurant has? Then what exactly are you running a restaurant for? You might as well close it down. We ordered three dishes at the time. I asked her whether all three dishes would fit on such a small table, and she told me yes. Well, technically, they did fit — but it was ridiculously cramped. If you knew what was going on, you would think I came here to eat. If you did not, you would probably think I came here to survive. My boyfriend and I have been studying in the UK for nearly three years. We have traveled to many countries across Europe, both big and small, and We've eaten at Chinese restaurants in almost every city we've visited. Never before have we encountered an older waitress with such an impatient attitude. I genuinely regret being so tolerant of her at the beginning, because it only encouraged her to push things further and take advantage of my patience. When we paid the bill, the owner apologized and waived the cost of one drink. However, that still didn't make up for how angry this experience made me. I sincerely hope your restaurant will properly train its staff. Objectively speaking, the food was indeed acceptable for international students, but the service was indescribable, even appalling. My boyfriend and I have been studying in the UK for almost three years, and we've been to almost every European country, big and small, and tried almost every Chinese restaurant in every city. I've never encountered such an impatient elderly waitress! I regret my initial tolerance; she took advantage of my attitude. Second reply: 1. We have never been satisfied with a two-person table or a table next to the toilet. Your staff pretended not to hear us until I got angry and finally changed our table! 2. How often you clean the toilet is your business; not wanting to sit next to it is mine! 3. Don't you know why I turned on my DJI camera? If it weren't for your rude attitude, would I have turned it on? Why did your attitude change after I turned it on? And is there any need for taking photos in your restaurant? Don't you know what your own shop looks like? Secondly, please inform us beforehand if photography is not allowed. Finally, is photography equipment expensive in your eyes? Why do you call it a "treasure"? 4. I didn't lie about the order. If I were lying, may I be hit by a car and die. I don't care if you knowingly framed me or were deceived by that old waiter. I'm not the only one treated this way. You know right from wrong. If you don't, you can check the security footage. Don't play innocent. 5. There's no need to blame the victim for discrimination. It's vulgar behavior. 6. In my years of studying abroad, your restaurant is the worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to in Europe, bar none. Stop lying and betraying your conscience. You have children too; have some decency.

27/10/2026: The food here is delicious and authentic, but it seems like I can't order on Uber lately. I live far away, so I have to order delivery. I really miss it.
