26/11/2025: A very bad experience at La Caverne des Artistes. The galettes and crêpes are clearly lacking in quality: soggy batter, often low-end and tasteless fillings—one wonders if the ingredients come from a discount wholesaler rather than a real chef. The prices are high—absolutely no value for money. The service is appalling when the restaurant is finally open; the welcome needs improvement, and you can't rely on either the menu or the advertised opening hours. As it stands, I strongly advise against going: it's best to avoid it altogether.

17/06/2026: A truly awful experience. I'm absolutely shocked. First, the service was incredibly cold, and they seemed to be bothering me if I asked a simple question. Second, avoid the cocktails, especially the mojito (which, oddly enough, is number 2 on the menu). It had no flavor whatsoever; it was just sparkling water and ice cubes with barely any aftertaste of lime/mint/alcohol, and that was just enough to say it had any taste at all. When I politely asked if it would be possible to have a small slice of lime extra because "I really like lime" (instead of being critical), the waiter/bartender said, "We followed the recipe, it's the right amount, there's nothing we can do." Excuse me? A completely unpleasant attitude. I could have even paid the extra, but they were completely unwilling to accommodate me. And on top of that, it cost €7.50 for a tasteless drink. Absolutely ridiculous. The terrace and location seemed really nice, but the service and quality are truly deplorable.

17/06/2026: Brasserie and tobacconist in Montsoreau. Very friendly, summer and winter. Since the beginning of June, it's under new ownership. Every lunchtime from Monday to Saturday, you can have lunch on the terrace or inside; on Sundays, only charcuterie boards are available!

04/05/2026: Discovered by chance while searching online. Beautiful setting. Very friendly welcome and service. Superb, high-quality meal with fresh ingredients. We will gladly return.

01/06/2026: Had a nice visit here. The rooms are simple but clean and practical. The whole building is an older inn so don’t expect fancy trappings but it’s a nice place nonetheless. Was arriving a bit late but the staff were happy to host us in the restaurant. The food was tasty and with a bunch of locally sourced vegetables and meats. The breakfast was fairly simple, not a huge selection, but the tables were neatly set, there were some croissants and jams, some cereals and coffee and juice. The ambiance of the whole place was relaxed, so nothing formal, no attempts to act overly fancy, or overly service oriented but also down to earth, happy to chat a bit and ensure needs were met. I’d happily return.

17/05/2026: A woman (smoking outside in an apron, to illustrate the point) who raises her eyes when you ask a question—you wouldn't guess there's an outside area behind her! A little kindness and a smile are free and can pay off big time; in this case, we turned around and left. What a shame...

28/07/2026: Permanently closed since June 2026, perhaps someone else will take it over later? It was a well-located, lively, and welcoming family restaurant 👍🏻 We hope to be able to enjoy the place again!

11/03/2026: A very nice little restaurant in the town of Couëron. It is indeed a bit noisy, but the food and service were excellent. One small suggestion for improvement: a website where you can see the menu or daily specials would be a plus, to avoid having to use Facebook.

16/05/2026: Always excellent! The service was very pleasant, friendly, and quick. The set menu was €16 (starter, main course, dessert) and was perfect. We come very regularly. Congratulations, keep up the good work!

12/05/2026: We received a very poor welcome; we felt like we were bothering them. The owners were extremely rude when it came time to pay, as they would have preferred cash. We were subjected to a barrage of derogatory remarks about "young people arriving without wallets" (we're both 50 years old!). Go spend your money elsewhere; these people are awful! Blaming your customers for a lack of communication skills or a sense of humor is certainly not the best response. Your reply to my comment only confirms my impressions from my last visit.

09/02/2026: The food wasn't good. We had a Tori Don and a Katsu Don, and they were inedible. Too greasy, with a bland and sickening taste. The spring rolls were okay, they were standard. We didn't try the sushi.

02/07/2026: Always super friendly and pleasant. The pork spring rolls and noodles are excellent.

22/06/2026: Over the years, the portions have gotten smaller and the price has gone up. More pasta than meat. That's ridiculous. We'll go there later.

12/06/2026: A small, old-fashioned neighborhood bistro. Unpretentious but very efficient. A choice of three appetizers, three main courses, and three desserts. Enough to find something you like... friendly and very professional waitresses. The owner always has a kind word too. We've been before, and we'll go back. Some days, it's a good idea to make a reservation.

14/06/2026: Incredibly RUDE service. Waiter came up to us and very rudely asked to leave. We were having 2 teas and there were at least 2 or 3 unoccupied tables around. We were on the phone and with very poor social skills he began taking to us…. very rushed, very frantic about wanting us to leave. We asked him to please wait as we were on the phone. He came back and basically kicked us out. I understand that some rotation is necesary in order to receive new customers, I understand. But that’s not a way to treat a customer. He could’ve calmly asked us to vacate the table, and we would have. I’m a neighbour and will never come back.
