09/06/2026: The €16 set lunch menu is exactly what you'd expect from a country restaurant. The building's facade is a bit dated and not particularly impressive, but once inside, the welcome is excellent and you immediately feel at home. The restaurant has retained its old-world charm, while being very well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The menu includes country soup with the option of seconds, a simple cold starter, followed by a good, generous, and unpretentious meat dish of the day. A cheese course is offered before dessert. The desserts are frozen, but still reasonable for the price. The service is quick and efficient, ideal for workers and those short on time at lunchtime. Finally, the presence of many regulars is often a great indicator, and this is certainly the case here. An honest, no-nonsense place with good value for money for lunch.

27/04/2026: Impeccable service, a hearty country soup that evokes childhood memories, a generous starter and a delicious main course, all in keeping with the beginning of the meal, cheese and wine included, for a worker's lunch at €16.50 – it's a trip down memory lane, and you have to head back to work with a full stomach. I wish I could find restaurants like this every day...

09/07/2026: We arrived at 8:35 PM, but the manager refused to serve us dinner, claiming they had just closed the kitchen. He also refused to offer us a sharing platter… A real shame, considering the setting. We went next door to Le Ragondingue, where they welcomed us for a meal!

14/07/2026: The restaurant is well located, the service was impeccable, and we were served quickly. The summer menu (quite different from the winter one) was appealing, especially the "pinsa," which were very good, generously filled, and reasonably priced. However, we were a little disappointed with the rest of the menu, as we couldn't choose how the steaks were cooked in the burgers, nor how the Caesar salad was cooked (not much chicken and a lot of rather stale lettuce). It's therefore best to choose certain dishes. The prices are also a bit high for these items. Still worth trying!

06/04/2026: One can imagine it's expensive given the circumstances, but it should be good and quite filling. The Caesar salad at 19 euros with two pieces of chicken breast that I can't imagine being cooked on-site, croutons the size of a pinky fingernail, so uniform they probably didn't even leave the kitchen, bagged salad, and no Caesar dressing...

21/06/2026: I highly recommend it!!! The atmosphere is very friendly, the waiter is very smiling and attentive. The ice creams are simply exquisite and very generous.

26/07/2026: Although a "country coffee" sign hangs on the storefront, I've never managed to try it. Two attempts; two failures: The first time, we were at the counter, several servers walked right past us without even noticing us, and we left after 10 minutes. The second time, well, they refused to serve it after 4 p.m. Of course, they have the right to do so, but when you express your surprise, it's best to explain with a bit of tact rather than replying, "Are you kidding me?" There won't be a third time. I can understand that some products are more profitable than others, but in any case, a customer is a customer, and they deserve respect.

19/07/2026: We wanted to try their homemade butter croissants and coffee, which were delicious. But the best part was the service and friendliness of a young man who spoke Spanish, which we really appreciated since he was able to explain the products they sold, and we decided to try them.

18/07/2026: Yes, prices have gone up... but you can still enjoy a treat for under €4 with the chocolate éclairs (not coffee!). The Basque lemon cake is a real marvel... however, the flan is nothing like a flan at all! As for the weekend tart, called "tarte monge," which used to cost just over €3.50, it has not only gone over €4 but also been reduced by a third! That's completely unacceptable! The ready-made meals in trays are decent... avoid fish that's too hot... especially since it's often leftovers from the day before... the quiches remain the local favorites... as for the "baguette monge," the 2.5 cm crust on each end is laughable, except for connoisseurs... in a little while, they'll be baguettes! And the price is outrageous! As for the waiters, they do what they can because the customers are often in a hurry, even aggressive. (Not all of them, thankfully) the waitresses at the terrace shop remain remarkably friendly and considerate with customers, many of whom are foreign. To sum up, either you raise the prices or you reduce the portion sizes, but NOT the second option! Best regards

20/07/2026: After a hygiene inspection, we thought we were safe since they'd taken the initiative to reopen the restaurant, but nope, bingo! We got sick two hours after our meal 😡 We'll have to go back. The display cases don't close properly either, some desserts are way past their prime, and the verrine with the Kinder Bueno was completely soggy and tasteless. Avoid at all costs!

18/07/2026: It's been a long time since I've been back... Bad luck, it was 'administratively closed' at the beginning of June for health reasons. Furthermore, I saw in the newspaper L'Yonne Républicaine that after the article, it was 'marketing with the restaurant' on Avenue Gambetta in Auxerre.

28/02/2026: Unfortunately, it's closed. A wonderful surprise in the neighborhood! The Pha Long soup was exceptional ❤️, the private terrace was lovely, and the welcome was charming even though we arrived very late in July, in the middle of the week.
