24/02/2026: The restaurant has been replaced by an unidentified Asian place (Le Mekong), which I would avoid at all costs. I ordered gyoza as a starter; apart from the shape, they were nothing like the originals—saturated with oil and made with the wrong ingredients. Then I had a green chicken curry, which I've never seen before: hot water with lemongrass stalks and a chicken breast swimming in it. They should be told to remove the lemongrass stalks before serving, just like the other aromatic leaves; it's inedible. In short, avoid it. The value for money is disastrous.

27/05/2026: I came to eat last Sunday. It was the first time I'd ever eaten alone in a restaurant, and I have a very bad memory of it. I ordered the two-smoked salad with duck breast and smoked trout: a huge disappointment. I started eating and discovered about ten bugs in the salad; it's unacceptable. I told them, and they apologized by bringing me a second salad. I decided to check the salad just in case, and I discovered that it was also infested with bugs! I've included photos as proof (the black spots on the salad). It's completely unacceptable; I don't even want to imagine the hygiene in the kitchen. I didn't even dare order another course. They brought me a glass of champagne as an apology, and I even paid for the single scoop of ice cream that served as my meal. It's shameful!

22/05/2026: The setting is lovely for a pleasant break. However, we had an unpleasant experience with the waiter who brought our order back with a bloody finger – not very professional. There was a drop of blood on the table, as well as on our glasses and ice cream. Not very professional at all.

13/05/2026: The location and service are very good. However, the bedding needs improvement and the breakfast is not great.

29/07/2026: Clean rooms, no air conditioning, bar and restaurant closed. No reception. In 7 days I saw one (1) employee only once. In the room the air conditioning was replaced by a 20 cm fan. Hotel to be used only if there is no alternative.

23/07/2026: Room booked for a stay at Europa-Park, located about 30 minutes away by car. The location is ideal: everything is close by in Erstein, especially shops. As for the room, it's adequate for the price. It's clear they've tried to modernize it, but a few improvements are still needed, particularly regarding the blankets, which are outdated and uncomfortable. The rest is satisfactory, although the bed could be a bit bigger. The bathroom is quite modern. The main drawbacks concern cleanliness: the room hadn't been dusted, and we saw three spiders in three nights. This is definitely something that needs improvement. Despite this, I recommend this establishment for its excellent value for money, its convenient location, and its friendly and welcoming staff.

06/09/2026: I came to this restaurant without knowing they prepared halal dishes, which I believe I ate. I survived! The fries were very good with a delicious, slightly spicy, unfamiliar sauce, which I loved. A pamini, presumably with chicken, onions, tomatoes, and a sauce? Salad and other things I didn't know about the fillings. Very good, hot, and appetizing. I say bravo Aziza!

20/08/2026: Wait a minute, this for 10.50? Seriously, once is enough! There was practically no meat in the sandwich. They need to stop treating the French like fools. The only positive thing I can say about the service was that the waitress was friendly enough.

14/05/2026: The restaurant owner is a kind and respectful woman. The food is good and the dishes are prepared in a clean environment. The only problem is that the restaurant is closed on certain days and only opens during certain periods.

16/04/2026: Great little kebab shop. Very welcoming staff. Lots of choices.

28/09/2026: The pizza there is absolutely delicious; it's definitely the place to go! The service is always friendly and welcoming, which is lovely, and what's more, the setting is gorgeous, surrounded by vineyards! 😍🌿

22/08/2026: We were very disappointed; out of 4 pizzas, only 2 matched our order! The pizzas are expensive for what they are.

19/08/2026: A charming lady who ran the dining room and cooked all by herself! The galette was very good and the price more than reasonable.

02/10/2026: Very disappointing. The food was definitely frozen, and very expensive considering the portion sizes and taste. No tablecloth, just paper napkins, and a limited wine selection clearly aimed at selling off leftovers. The restaurant is going under! A tourist trap.

29/09/2026: Excellent meal at Commissioner Dupin's restaurant, and at his table no less. Thank you to the whole team for this wonderful experience.

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.

13/09/2025: The restaurant has fundamentally changed its concept. Not a disaster in itself, but they should update the links/photos. Completely understaffed, one overwhelmed waiter for the entire dining room. The kitchen is taking it easy meanwhile. Way too hot inside. The food was okay, nothing special. We just wanted to leave...
