13/05/2026: Disastrous experience; I strongly advise against this type of club. The manager is unpleasant, everything is much more expensive than the initial price. No one was on the court behind us, and he turned off the lights after just two minutes of play.

I was disappointed with the spritz (not even sure it was prosecco, it was incredibly flat) at €10 a glass, the main course was nothing special, the €10 glass of champagne was just a tiny glass, and the state of the toilets was appalling – clearly understaffed.

01/07/2026: The current state of the hotel was not at all up to the standard of a 5-star hotel or a Relais & Châteaux, for that matter. The restaurant was not up to the standard of a 1 Michelin star, either. When we arrived at the hotel on a Wednesday afternoon, only one person was working, and she was the receptionist. She somehow found someone to help us with our luggage, and she helped us to get the manoir suite #118 in shape for us. No one had read my email requests for the room; it took a long time to get the room the way we wanted it. We arrived during a canicule. The suite had only one air conditioner, and it was in the bedroom, at the far end of the suite. It could not cool the salon, the entry, the closet or the bathroom at the other end of the suite. Housekeeping staff arrived and with their help, the bed was remade the way we like it. In the bathroom, there were only huge bath towels. We were told that there were no hand towels at this hotel. There was no dish for the soap and nowhere to hang the towels conveniently near the sink. There were no hooks near the shower either. The suite had been renovated but not with the comfort of the guest in mind. When we asked the woman at reception if they had forgotten our fruit plate; one was brought. We asked where the bottles of water were, and we were brought some. We were charged 14€ for what is usually a welcome gift of fruit and 20€ for two bottles of water. In our experience at a 5-star hotel, water and fruit are included in the price of a suite. After we unpacked we took a shower. The floor of the shower was really slippery and dangerous. We are glad that we survived in one piece. We had a disappointing meal at the restaurant. We sat looking at the lovely grounds and that was nice; it was actually the only good thing about our meal. The service was not good—it was very, very slow. The music was not appropriate to the bucolic setting and the food was just okay. The amuse bouche arrived and it was a tomato soup and a savory feuillette. The bread did not have a crunchy crust so Dimitri did not like it. We ordered the fois gras cooked in a bain marie which we usually like. This was not tasty enough. The ceviche entrée was also tasteless. For our main, we ordered the pork. It was so dry, it was like paper. The sauce had no character and there was not enough to moisten the pork. Dimitri liked the white asparagus; Audre thought that they were overcooked. The soufflé was good. Our meal cost 77€. Breakfast on the terrace was adequate but not at a 5-star level.

09/05/2026: May2026 (new) The lunch menu seems to have changed. Although the prices are a bit lower, the quality and portion sizes are different from last year, especially the coffee at the end. Overall, last year's experience made me want to return, but this year's was a bit disappointing. We would like to return if the food could be improved. June2025 Great restaurant and service! Every dish is amazing! The fish is also very delicious, and the surprise is in the details!

07/06/2026: A very warm welcome and excellent food, plus it's right next to a beautiful lake. I highly recommend it.

27/04/2026: We ate there on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The entire meal was very good and served hot. The St. Véran white wine was delicious. The welcome was very warm. It's best to book ahead. A good restaurant, and there aren't many like it in the area.

04/08/2026: First and last time at Marie Blachère in Wattrelos. The brunette saleswoman who was there on August 4th at 5:00 PM was bitter and rude. I asked a question about the pastry offers, and I was treated like an idiot, with repeated, haughty "well, yes, that's what I just told you." You get the feeling you're bothering them (to put it politely) rather than anything else. If you're not happy, stay home; we shouldn't have to pay for your bad mood. No wonder there's nobody in your bakery.

25/07/2026: Luckily the baguettes are excellent because I don't go there for the friendliness of the staff... It's also a shame they no longer make sandwiches to order at 12:30 on a Saturday!!! On a Saturday!!! I really don't want to get one that's been sitting there since dawn and isn't necessarily to my liking.

13/07/2026: For an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant, I found it perfectly acceptable. Don't expect haute cuisine, but the value for money is good. The highlights are clearly the skewers and appetizers, which I found very well done. The dining room is pleasant, well air-conditioned, and the staff is welcoming and efficient. Considering the price and overall experience, I think this restaurant deserves its 5 stars.

30/06/2026: Available for delivery every other day, very poor telephone service, 3 portions of spring rolls to share with only one sauce, one savory sauce and one sweet sauce for two meals, and prices far above and unjustifiably high... And yet, a customer for over 5 years....

21/07/2026: It started off well with a warm welcome, but ended on a bad note: an extremely long wait, and the food wasn't cooked properly and was bland.

19/07/2026: The Bayonne festivities led us to stop for a drink and a few snacks, just to start. We had a very cold beer and sangria with padrones (a type of sausage), rabas (a type of sausage), and ham croquettes, all served by a very friendly waiter. This impromptu little aperitif before watching King Léon wake up was just what we needed; it was excellent. While we were enjoying our snack, we asked if there was still room for lunch and if a reservation was required. We were very glad we did; there was space. So we returned to eat after our good king had woken up. We particularly enjoyed the cassolette of squid and the ham with asparagus. The Axoa (a traditional Bayonne stew) was also very good, and the cheese with its membrillo (a type of sausage), the nougat glacé with its red fruit coulis, and the chocolate cake with its bed of crème anglaise were all devoured. Add to that excellent service with very friendly and pleasant staff, and the picture is complete. We had a wonderful time on the banks of the Nive during the holidays.

01/05/2026: I went to pick up my order, and when I got home, one kebab was missing. I called them back to let them know, so I had to drive all the way back to get it—four 15km trips in total. And this time, not an apology from the waitress, just a tap on the bag as if to say, "Okay, here's your kebab." The waitress was completely unfriendly, not a smile. It felt like we were bothering her. As for me, I won't be going back.

02/08/2026: We came to this restaurant for dinner one evening with friends and, unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Given the prices, we expected much higher quality food, but that was absolutely not the case. The salmon pizza, priced at €20, contained only three small pieces of salmon. The beef tartare seemed to be made with defrosted meat, accompanied by fries that were clearly frozen. The pasta carbonara was completely bland, and the sauce was watered down. As for the fish stew, it was so devoid of flavor that even the fish had no taste at all. All the dishes were sorely lacking in seasoning and quality. For a bill of over €200, we left with a real sense of disappointment. Unfortunately, we do not recommend this restaurant in its current state and hope that the quality of the food will be improved.

13/07/2026: One star for the waitress, 0/5 for the meal. Dry galette without butter, two slices of cold goat cheese. As for the other dish: inedible meat, no meat knife. Who is in the kitchen???
