22/04/2026: We went as a family, and we loved it. From the moment you walk in, the welcome is incredibly friendly and relaxed. The service was efficient and the food excellent. We'll gladly go back.

20/04/2026: A restaurant well worth the detour. The welcome was fabulous, our server was truly excellent. The meal was superb; we had a guest with gluten and lactose intolerance, and they did everything they could to accommodate their dietary needs. I highly recommend it.

06/04/2026: We stopped for lunch and found a seat outside, sampled a selection of cheeses, and then had roast ham and grilled beef. To finish, we had an almond cake. Everything was delicious. Of course, we also really enjoyed the wine. Service was friendly and fast.

24/03/2026: St Emilion 25th October Le Medieval Restaurant We both travelled by train from Bordeaux to St Emilion for a day trip. The town is approximately 20-30 minutes from the station by foot up a gentle gradient, passing vineyards enroute. We wandered around the town, which is beautiful, had a glass of Bordeaux opposite the medieval Church before wandering back down with the intention of grabbing some lunch before heading towards the train station. We sat outside initially as - even for the end of October - the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day but moved inside when a threatening rainstorm delivered on its promise. The food was great as was the service and – as always – the wine was excellent and reasonably priced, given that it is undoubtedly a tourist destination. Probably mobbed in holiday season but this was still had a number of locals dining out.

12/04/2026: I am really disappointed in the service and food quality of this restaurant. I’m bilingual, and live close by. My anglophone friend was visiting, and having walked past this restaurant often since I’ve moved into the quartier, I have always wanted to try out this restaurant. It has a really nice, inviting atmosphere with the lights outside and French customers. It was just an illusion. We both ordered the bœuf bourguignon and were both disappointed by how much fat there was compared to meat. It was impossible to cut through with the knife. The potatoes were also still a bit raw. I have had my fair share of bœuf bourguignon in France, and none of them were as tasteless, fatty, or as small as this one. The cocktails were good, I’ll give them that, but mine was rather small. The waiter checked on us twice throughout the whole meal, and once we were ready to pay, he told me showing the reader « here is an option to tip, what amount would you like? » I was shocked because I have never been asked to tip in France before, and told him no thank you, to which he became upset and was theatrically asking me why. I did not appreciate this at all. At this point, I realized that maybe it’s a tourist trap, although it’s confusing because many parisiens were also there, and seemed to have been enjoying themselves. They 100% thought we were dumb tourists who would fall for leaving a tip.

26/02/2026: A simple yet effective menu and setting. Very pleasant waiter. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. And if you want an incredible dessert, try the Dilane with flambéed Grand Marnier; it's worth the trip.
