09/09/2026: I often walked past, thinking I should try it one day, but the crowds always held me back. Now I understand why. Starting with gyozas, which unfortunately weren't to my taste (too much garlic), their ramen was incredibly comforting, as was their warm welcome. The broth is flavorful without being overpowering. Everything is perfectly balanced, right down to the portion size, which I found just right. The fact that the food is prepared right in front of you creates a lively and convivial atmosphere rarely found in French restaurants. I'm so glad I discovered this place and I highly recommend it.

08/09/2026: Japan is still a long way off! I ordered a tonkatsu donburi, which I unfortunately didn't enjoy: the rice was tasteless, or more precisely, it had a flavor that barely reminded me of rice, there was far too much raw cabbage (is that in the recipe?), and overall it was quite different from what I expected from this Japanese dish. Well, I can see that I'm clearly going against the grain of the many enthusiastic reviews of this restaurant, and I'm willing to chalk my disappointment up to slightly too high culinary standards. After all, it's not easy to replicate Japanese excellence; I wasn't expecting the chef to have trained in Tokyo under a cherry blossom tree. But the most disturbing thing was the service, which, frankly, was anything but Japanese. "We're in France," you might say, and I readily agree, but that doesn't preclude friendliness or a minimum of attention to the customer. However, I was the first customer, and some people need a warm-up. The order was therefore taken abruptly, almost hastily. Even more disconcerting were the interminable verbal exchanges between the cooks, perfectly audible a meter away from the other diners, in a register one would rather not have to accompany a meal. Adapting to "French-style" service seems to have taken hold more readily than the Japanese art of hospitality and, in my case, of cooking. Yes, I know: we're not in Japan. But when I walk through the door of a "Japanese" restaurant, at least allow me a few illusions.

21/08/2026: Quick, simple, efficient, very good products, more than reasonable price. I understand the Gaultherie and Millau awards from 2019 to 2025. If you're passing through Étampes, don't miss this place. Thank you to the chef and also for the warm welcome.

19/08/2026: "Gault & Millau"? Who are they kidding? It has absolutely no flavor! Salad and meat without sauce, for example. Tasteless. And the setting is awful too. I don't usually leave reviews, but this is just ridiculous.

20/08/2026: No set menu (starter, main course, dessert), it's à la carte. Homemade fries, but too greasy. Dishes are not very elaborate and the presentation is mediocre. I don't think it's worth the price.

27/08/2026: We had a wonderful stay at the Auberge des Myrtilles. In a beautiful and peaceful setting, the inn is ideally located for hiking or cycling. The restaurant offers the opportunity to dine in and sample regional specialties. The blueberry tart is a real treat. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is very generous.

19/08/2026: I've been going to this restaurant for several years and I've never been disappointed. The food is good, and the service and welcome are very friendly and professional. The menu focuses on regional recipes, fish, meat, and shellfish, and the drinks are inexpensive, with wines by the glass at €3. The price of dishes can increase depending on the type of fish and shellfish, but there are simple, tasty dishes at very reasonable prices. Reservations are recommended for some summer evenings. The restaurant is open year-round, which avoids the disappointments of restaurants that only open occasionally during the summer.

30/04/2026: Having traveled to Japan twice, I highly recommend EKE, where I found all the elements of a truly authentic Japanese restaurant. A perfect lunch enjoyed on tatami mats. We chose the Momiji tasting menu with Japanese hot pot and a very good sake. The discreet service was noteworthy, as it's so rare.
