15/12/2024: We had an exceptional meal at the Vivier to celebrate my birthday. We received a very warm reception and everyone was attentive during the dinner. We chose the menu du Vivier all around seasonal products: foie gras - delicious-, deer -very tender and amazing sauce, we took the cheese special with a generous portions of truffle shavings and the dessert around raspberry and pistachio. We enjoyed every bite of the meal as well as the wine. The sommelier is very knowledgable and provided good recommendations for the meal. It is definitely the best and most romantic restaurant in town, with excellent value for money.

17/09/2024: Quite cozy and entertaining restaurant at the marina and certainly better than in a sterile 5 star hotel. Although there are some locals there, the food could be a little better. Everything is a little under-salted and has very little roasted aroma, which is what you would actually expect “à la plancha”. The grilled giant prawns were therefore disappointing for me and also not cleansed of the intestines. Too bad!

2 atmospheres to choose from with the Lamparo and next to the Lamparino for grilling over a wood fire.
Ideal for an evening with lovers or friends.

12/09/2024: La casa pépé ? Le meilleur restaurant italien de Rennes. J’y vais depuis des années que ce soit pour déjeuner ou dîner et je trouve que le rapport qualité prix est très appréciable. Les pizzas sont fines et bien garnies tout en laissant place à un dessert. N’oublions pas de mentionner leur lasagne à la mozzarella qui est juste exquise. Le personnel est très accueillant, c’est toujours un plaisir d’y retourner.

29/11/2024: I ordered the tuna steak and my husband ordered the mussels. Tuna steak was very heavy, it didn’t taste fresh and there was a funny smell. The potato wedges and mushrooms that came with it were soggy and overcooked. I couldn’t find the appetite to eat it. I nibbled on my husband’s mussels which were very bland. When they came to collect the dishes, I gave the exact same feedback. They didn’t even apologise and charged us for the whole thing. I am obviously not coming again. I sometimes really struggle to understand the Google maps ratings (given this place was 4.8 at the time of this review).

It's still so good. And it's always open late, which is perfect for people with late lunches. :)
I had lunch at this restaurant a few days ago.
Friendly welcome, nice and relaxing setting. It has the particularity of serving until 4 p.m., which is very good for people on the move when many restaurants no longer serve after 2 p.m. People arrived at 3:40 p.m. and were seated without problem.
The food: very good. The tasty starter, the dish of the day sought after both in terms of presentation and flavors, the fish on the menu presented before being prepared, very fresh, the accompaniments, the fries... Everything was very good, refined and sought after. There are real people in the kitchen!
The desserts are generous, whether they are in the normal or mini formula: they serve mini desserts in gourmet coffee or... individually, which is very original for a light touch of sweetness, without overdoing it).
In short, I really liked it. I will go back.

02/09/2024: Very good stay in the hostel.
The room is spacious, bright and very well equipped. The swimming pool and sauna/hammam are great.
We enjoyed the Jardin d’Hiver restaurant where the proportions of the dishes and cocktails were generous. The restaurant staff is professional and attentive. We had specified when booking that it was for a birthday, and we thank them for their attention: we were offered a dessert with a candle and happy birthday.
The establishment is well located and the staff are great, especially Fabrice who made our stay even more pleasant with his kindness and good humor.
The reception staff are attentive, pleasant and do their best to satisfy our requests.
01/09/2024: A big thank you to the entire team at the Auberge du Jeu de Paume who gave us a wonderful welcome and pampered us during our stay for our wedding! Big smiles, personalized attention throughout our stay, the whole team knew how to pull out all the stops. The room was very pleasant with a lovely view of the Château park. The food is very good and the service attentive. It was great!
