17/09/2026: On the recommendation of a friend (who couldn't make it due to vacation), we discovered this restaurant in Brignoud. Although there were nine of us, we were pleasantly surprised. The setting is lovely with a charming terrace, and the welcome was warm. From the daily special to the desserts, everything was a delight! The value for money for a complete meal (aperitif, daily special or à la carte depending on your preference, wine, dessert, and coffee) is truly excellent. A fantastic place that we highly recommend!

27/09/2026: The staff wasn't very friendly; no hello or goodbye. The desserts (we only ordered them) were more than disappointing. The French toast arrived cold and not at all soaked in the French toast mixture, and the banana Nutella on the dough (probably for a flammekueche) was overcooked and tasteless. We were really disappointed and won't be back.

07/09/2026: It would actually be a nice place to linger. Unfortunately, it's closed. The owner apparently doesn't think it's necessary to inform his guests about the correct opening hours. Otherwise, 5 stars.

04/09/2026: Was supposed to be open according to their own Google and Facebook pages. Arrived there at 12:45 on a Friday after a hike of about 4km (elevation climb 450 meters) just to receive a rude “fermé”. Very disappointing

22/08/2026: We booked a table at this restaurant on a whim, and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, the chicken ballotine delicious! High-quality cuisine.

20/09/2026: The worst of the trip. I was treated like dirt. I sat at my table for ages with loads of waiters walking right past me without a word, as if I wasn't even there. I left without anyone noticing. Avoid at all costs!

18/09/2026: Hippopotamus is very pleasant, the service was good, the food is tasty (a small salad leaf with the main course would be appreciated), and the prices are very reasonable. Close to Montparnasse train station, ideally located. The staff is friendly. Perfect for a lunch and/or dinner break!

08/09/2026: Lovely terrace. Very pleasant service, attentive young man. Excellent, refined cuisine. Please note that the menu is not the same as the one shown online... change of ownership, which is a shame.
