29/06/2026: We went with colleagues, 11 of us, with a reservation on the terrace. The welcome was fantastic, the waitress very friendly and attentive. Then, the manager, Pascal, brought us the menus with explanations of the dishes and a presentation of the daily specials, which is a real sign of quality and professionalism. Honestly, I had the house-smoked salmon: excellent, probably the best I've ever had. Then the hanger steak with fries, cauliflower, and béarnaise sauce: perfectly cooked and very tender meat. For dessert, the Bounty-style chocolate mousse was amazing. All the appetizers, main courses, and desserts are hearty and generous: you leave feeling truly satisfied. My colleagues also ordered various dishes: homemade guacamole, melon and ham, house-smoked salmon, pork loin with chorizo, seafood salad, chicken pyramid with chorizo, sea bream, as well as several desserts like tiramisu, vacherin, etc. Excellent overall experience, I highly recommend it!

04/07/2026: Having lived in Saclay since 1994, this isn't the first time, and yet it will be the last, I eat there. A burnt focaccia as a starter, served cold. A risotto on the menu, but on the plate, dry black rice, reheated several times, inedible. Dessert, of course, at home. A 20% discount was offered on the bill, which doesn't excuse how a chef could dare to serve such dishes.

30/04/2026: I came to La Taverne de Tasdon restaurant with my parents on April 11th, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing… the service was quite disastrous. To begin with, no table was reserved in our name, even though we had booked for three people. We were lucky that a table was available, but considering what followed, that might not have been such a good thing after all… We ordered our drinks (a soft drink, an alcoholic beverage, and a glass of sweet white wine). After 10 minutes, the drinks arrived at the same time as our order was taken, but the wine served was a dry white. We pointed this out, and we had to wait another 10 minutes to get the correct glass. We then ordered two skewered beef pears and a chicken supreme. After a long wait, after 40 minutes, we were told that they were out of beef pears… almost an hour after our arrival. That was already unacceptable. So we switched to three chicken supremes, requesting them well-done. We were offered a soft drink and coffee (after the meal), and a few slices of cured ham while we waited. 25 minutes later, the dishes arrived, along with apologies and a promise that the cooking had been done with particular care… but again, disappointment: the chicken was pink. After an hour and a half wait, it was difficult to send the food back, so we ate what we could. My mother barely ate anything. When it came time to pay, we were hoping for a more substantial gesture of goodwill. The result: only the two coffees and a soft drink were offered, but the dishes were charged in full, for a bill of €72. An hour and a half wait, order errors, unavailable dishes, and cooking times not as requested… it was a very disappointing experience. Let's hope it was just an isolated incident.

19/06/2026: Passing through the area, I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality buffet; while not very large, it was all homemade. With the €19 all-you-can-eat lunch (drinks included) and the friendly service, what more can I say, except that it's a little gem.

03/01/2026: We made a last-minute reservation and got a table. We received a very warm welcome, the service was excellent and well-paced, and the owner had a friendly, witty remark and a genuine desire for quality. We ordered two set menus: starter, main course, and dessert, including gratinated scallops, sauerkraut, and trout, followed by a sorbet with a generous splash of liqueur and a chestnut tart. The large dining room was beautifully decorated with ample space between the tables, creating a wonderfully intimate atmosphere. We have no regrets and will definitely return, especially since the menu changes regularly!

14/02/2026: A restaurant nestled among oak trees, quite far from the nearest towns... the cuisine is refined, delicious dishes enhanced with truffles... French-style service, white tablecloths, etc... as for the ambiance, I would say the dining room could use some modernizing; it's a bit old-fashioned... But overall, the meal was very enjoyable, we will return

17/04/2026: THE RESTAURANT TO TRY IN ASCAIN! We stopped by chance one evening in Ascain and what a discovery! The chef was lovely, the food generous and delicious! The txuleton for two was perfectly seasoned, the fries were homemade, the sheep's cheese was excellent, and the pistachio-raspberry fondant was delicious… everything was homemade! If we're ever back in the area, this will definitely be our next stop!

09/04/2026: Best chip shop in the world, hands down. My partner and I stopped by once out of curiosity, and since then we go at least once a month (oops, maybe more now that we've moved even closer...). We've never eaten anything so good, especially with such friendly staff! Not to mention the very reasonable prices. We'll be back again and again without hesitation! See you next time! (P.S.: The delivery guy and his girlfriend 😄)

The glass of rosé ordered with the meal was served at the same time as the aperitif, without the bottle being presented. The rosé was warm... The courses were served very quickly, perhaps too quickly. The waitress was pleasant.

18/07/2026: It's always a pleasure to stop by Le Vieu Carré. The food is consistently excellent, with fast and friendly service. When it's hot, I highly recommend the salads, which are excellent, and the goat cheese salad is even quite original—you can eat the whole plate! I'll definitely be back...
