Combining authenticity and generosity, here's my experience: 🇮🇹 What We Loved (The Positives) • The Quality of the Products: This is the restaurant's strong point. The ingredients are fresh, carefully sourced, and you can taste it from the first bite. The Italian cured meats and cheeses are remarkably refined. • The Mastery of Pizzas: The dough is light, airy, and perfectly cooked in a wood-fired oven. These are far from mass-produced pizzas; here, tradition is respected. • The Setting: The restaurant has a warm atmosphere and tasteful decor, making it a very pleasant place for a romantic dinner or a meal with friends. 🧊 The downside (The welcome) • The service: This is unfortunately where things fell short. While the meal itself was flawless, the waitress's attitude created a bit of a chill. The welcome was rather distant, even icy, sorely lacking the smile and warmth one expects in an establishment with Mediterranean flavors. At times, you get the feeling you're "bothering" them, which contrasts sharply with the generous portions. 📋 Conclusion Overall rating: 4/5 Donatella is an excellent restaurant for the taste buds. 03/02/2026: Originally from a village near Lainsecq, we've been passing by L'Escale for years. This time, my husband and I decided to go in for lunch. The set menu was simply perfect. No complaints whatsoever regarding the welcome, the service, or the price. I highly recommend it.

17/10/2025: Very disappointed the price is too high considering the quality of the dishes prepared. I regret coming just like many people today we were a whole group more than half did not like some even asked for the dishes to be returned to the kitchen (inedible) I will never come back too bad although friends told me that the service was great with good dishes and well that was not the case today.. even the pizzas are bland without flavor at 13.50 the pizza they are at the level of a frozen pizza brand reference of Leclerc. Change the cook or close the restaurant it is better

21/03/2026: A forgotten latte, and a lesson in disdain thrown in for good measure. We come regularly from the south of France, and Patapain is a place we genuinely appreciate in Orléans. We always enjoy stopping by—until this morning. The coffee machine was broken at 8:15 a.m. Fine, these things happen. Once it was fixed, my latte was ready, but no one brought it to me. I got up to fetch it myself and calmly mentioned that it was a shame—my family had finished breakfast a while ago. A young employee's response: "Well, if we could have done it differently, we would have, right?" I replied that it was still annoying. He said: "Yeah, too bad." Back at my table, I expressed my confusion to my family. He then added, from across the room: "Oh, come on, move on." That's when the problem ceased to be an oversight and became a serious mistake. I asked to speak to the manager. She responded promptly, apologized, and offered to give us some cream puffs. I politely declined. I didn't want a goodwill gesture. I wanted an apology from that employee. It never came. So yes, as he so aptly put it: what a shame. What a shame that a single employee, incapable of the slightest courtesy, is enough to tarnish the reputation of a business that deserves better than this.

05/07/2026: A truly magical and authentic place. You really feel at home there. The team is very warm and welcoming. The food is homemade, sophisticated, excellent, and flavorful—in short, an explosion of tastes in your mouth! We were won over! Highly recommended! Excellent value for money 🥇

05/07/2026: Fellow hikers, if you're hungry, steer clear, because the portions here won't fill you up. The Saint Marcelin salad costs twenty euros and consists of a tiny mound of lettuce and low-quality cured ham. The daily special was good, but again, the portion was small. The ice cream was good but expensive (3.90 a scoop is pricey). The crème brûlée in the set menu is as thin as a crepe. Another major issue is the bread! Serving bread of this quality when there are two bakeries nearby... In short, we were very disappointed, especially since it was recommended by the Routard guide! We left feeling a bit ripped off. The only very good thing was the service; the two waitresses were lovely, thank you for saving the experience!

17/05/2026: Hello, While on holiday in Lons-le-Saunier, we visited the town center and stumbled upon this crêperie, and we weren't disappointed! The staff was pleasant. One lady (owner/manager?) was very kind and smiling. We had the set lunch menu; the portions were generous and the food was good quality. We're delighted to have discovered this place 😊 Arthur Hahn

17/05/2026: We organized a friend's birthday party there. The platters and tapas were delicious, the service was perfect, the atmosphere pleasant, and the place welcoming. We were informed over the phone that it was €25 per person for the evening, including the platters, tapas, etc. There were 10 of us, and we also ordered bottles of wine. When it came time to pay, we were told it was €25 (for the platters and appetizers) plus €25 for the private use of the venue. This information wasn't provided over the phone, nor was the cost of the private use explained. We were disappointed by this. After speaking with the person there, she contacted her manager, who agreed to charge us only €25 for the platters, tapas, etc. We strongly regret not having received this clear information over the phone or on the website, as it's not mentioned anywhere! Despite a pleasant evening and a delicious pre-dinner drink, we will not return there; deceptive business practices are not one of our values.

16/05/2026: Warning: To start with the positives: a very pleasant place, quality products and service. Now for the negatives, beware! My friend, who was celebrating her birthday, booked the mezzanine on the first floor. The bar owner told her the price would be €25 per person, including tapas (this is a set menu, as indicated on the website, for groups of €25 per person). But when it came time to pay, the waiter told us the price per person would be at least €70 because there was an additional €50 private booking fee per person. This is never mentioned on the website, and the owner never spoke to my friend about it on the phone! So be wary of this bar, which will try to add €50 per person at the end for groups, without having discussed it beforehand or mentioned it online! Go there for a drink, but not to book the entire place for a private event!

The service was top-notch, impressively efficient, and attentive to every detail to ensure everything ran smoothly. A big thank you to "La Table d'As"! We recommend them without hesitation!

27/05/2026: I stumbled upon this place and was pleasantly surprised to discover simple yet delicious home-style cooking. I started with baked cheese with ham and toast, followed by a beautifully presented pork knuckle with fries and salad, and a quick bite. I highly recommend this restaurant, which also serves pizzas! It's right in the city center and parking is easy. I was on a scooter, so no problem at all. The gentleman at the counter was very professional!

11/04/2026: We didn't come for a funeral, but for a romantic weekend getaway. We arrived late, at 9:00 PM, and were greeted by very friendly hosts who offered excellent hospitality and a delicious meal 🥘. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the quality of service.
