21/08/2026: I didn’t feel to investigate the restaurant in my hotel. I went to around the city and then google where I should go to lunch. It pointed me back this way and I phoned myself in the same place where I had spent the night. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The food was the simple but stylish French lunch I had been hoping for. Two courses with a glass of wine for less than 30 English pounds. I shall be back here next week on my way home. There was nothing whatsoever wrong with this place. I only failed to give it fives because there are probably places that I’m more stylish with a larger menu. I did not need those. This was the place I was looking for all along! Merci à tous.

29/09/2026: An all-you-can-eat deal that's definitely worth it! Prices have gone up, but it's still affordable. Special mention for the "mini galettes," which I love.

22/09/2026: Avoid this place! The staff isn't very friendly, and the food is poor quality considering the high prices. We waited almost 10 minutes for parmesan cheese after having to ask a second time. The menu provides no details about the dishes, making it difficult to know what's in them. To top it all off, the people in front of us were offered a complimentary digestif, which wasn't even offered to us. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

14/09/2026: We were quite disappointed with our experience, especially compared to our previous visits. First of all, the restaurant's dining room felt more like a cafeteria than a restaurant where you come to enjoy a pleasant meal. The tables are very close together, offering very little privacy. We had specifically requested a more private table, as we were there to celebrate a family birthday with a child. We were also disappointed with the service. We had to fetch the menus ourselves. We ordered champagne as an aperitif and had to ask for the appetizers. Even more frustrating, the main courses arrived before we had finished our aperitif. We would have appreciated being able to enjoy a second glass of wine in peace before starting our meal. Regarding the meal, we had asked if it was possible to substitute Parma ham for the scampi. The waiter immediately informed us that this might not be possible and that the price would certainly be higher. We found this remark rather inappropriate. When you come to a restaurant for a special occasion, the priority is first and foremost to have a good time and enjoy a quality meal, rather than immediately discussing a potential extra charge. Unfortunately, the dish itself did not live up to our expectations. The fresh pasta seemed to have been prepared some time ago, particularly because the top was already dry, and we found the amount of Parma ham extremely limited: three small pieces practically fighting each other on the plate. In short, we felt that the quality of both the service and the meal was not up to the standard we had experienced in the past. If you are looking for a place to relax with your family, enjoy a pleasant atmosphere, and a quality meal, this experience unfortunately did not live up to our expectations, and certainly not to the standard of our previous visits.

23/09/2026: The well-fed waiter with a full beard was very unfriendly. Perhaps this is an area where they prefer not to treat German tourists hospitably. We wanted to order a meal and received the bill immediately after ordering coffee, along with a request to leave, which we did. To all German tourists: Avoid this café.

22/09/2026: It's always a very pleasant experience to spend time at your establishment. The staff is very professional and friendly. The food is simply perfect. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the setting is beautiful. Thank you!

22/09/2026: The wait was far too long; we were served before my sister, who had to wait for her pizza while I was almost finished with my pasta. The waitress was incredibly slow and didn't even tell us that some dishes were no longer available, so we had to look again to see what to order, which was a waste of time. Two soft drinks, two main courses, and two espressos cost 75 euros—really very expensive for such a basic meal.

19/08/2026: A delightful surprise! While cycling along the Allier River, we enjoyed an unexpected and delicious break. The setting was lovely, and the sweetbreads were generous. We left feeling incredibly energized...phew, the return trip by bike is going to be tough!

16/08/2026: Auberge du Pont du Canal, by definition a friendly and pleasant place where life is good? Hmm, the definition needs revising for this establishment. We wanted to have lunch one day, two adults and a 16-month-old baby. We asked if there was a table available. We could already tell that having a baby was a problem. They found us a table and, so as not to disturb the other customers too much, we asked for a quiet corner. They offered us a high chair, a nice touch! We placed our order; the waitress was very friendly. Our little one started to get a bit restless; she was hungry. The appetizers arrived, but they weren't what we had ordered. However, we didn't pay much attention to that, knowing there were variations between shrimp and prawns in the appetizers, as well as between foie gras and smoked duck breast. Anyway, we started eating and feeding our little one. The owner, who everything suggests is indeed the owner, stormed in, furious, and told us it wasn't our food we shouldn't have eaten. We apologized, explaining that we were more focused on our child, trying to keep his crying and whimpering quiet so as not to disturb the other guests. She stormed back to the kitchen, clearly unhappy, and a few moments later I followed her to apologize again. What a joy to be called an "idiot" in the kitchen! I immediately asked for the meal to be cut short, which is indeed against restaurant regulations. We took our food and decided to leave, feeling rather uneasy about the rest of our stay in the region. It's a shame that families aren't appreciated in an inn with an appealing menu but a less-than-welcoming welcome. I also want to point out, for your own improvement, that serving industrial hamburger buns for a €19 burger is a real eyesore. Thank you again for your hospitality; we will certainly recommend it to everyone we know. PS: Your waitress is pleasant and friendly; we hope she keeps it up!

16/01/2026: I regularly have lunch at Dadou's and am never disappointed: a very pleasant welcome, quality dishes, and the dining room is quite bright with its patio. I recommend it.

07/09/2026: This place is perfect if you don't know french. The service was excellent and the staff helped us in english. They explained the concept and were really patient. The salad was amazing. So many ingredients to choose from and it tasted amazing. Will definitely come back here!

12/09/2026: Hello everyone! I came to eat with my mother. We had couscous and a pastilla. The quality, quantity, and taste were all excellent. We had an incredible experience. The prices are affordable, the atmosphere is themed, and the service is wonderful. I highly recommend this establishment for an extraordinary culinary experience, and don't forget to try the tea—it's exceptional!

09/09/2026: Disappointed. The ingredients aren't high quality, so there's no flavor. The pizzas are small, like supermarket pizzas. €32 for 2 pizzas… the price-quality ratio seriously needs improvement.

10/05/2026: Unfortunately, there's not much positive to say about this establishment… very, very disappointed and very expensive for what's offered. The food: Two set menus are offered, one at €30 and the other at €50 for a starter, main course, and dessert. €5 less if you order a starter and main course or a main course and dessert. We chose the €30 menu and the €50 menu. The foie gras starter on the €50 menu was practically nonexistent: three tiny pieces barely vying for attention on the plate, and the quality was barely acceptable. The main course on the €50 menu, a beef Rossini, featured a mediocre cut of beef—tasteless, tough, and full of gristle. The foie gras on top was probably not foie gras. The side dishes were shameful in terms of quantity and lacked any special character. The €30 menu is unfortunately no better. You have to search for the cheese and potatoes in the starter, and the quality of the chicken in the main course is deplorable. We decided to order just one dessert, to savor every last bite and try to salvage the experience. The "café gourmand" (a selection of small pastries served with coffee) consisted of petit fours. We've never eaten anything so bad… it makes you wonder if the ingredients were even good anymore. The shortbread was definitely several days old and made with rancid butter. The atmosphere: Rather frosty when we were coldly informed that there was no children's menu and that "here, children eat like adults." At four years old, whether it's lemon chicken or beef Rossini, no, children don't eat that. And certainly not at the menu prices. They agreed to prepare half a plate of salmon crumble, which was simply placed on a plate, without sauce, without any flavor… It cost €10. From our perspective, children are not welcome. Nothing serious, but it needs to be said. In terms of comfort, many of the tables have a bar at shin level. This makes it impossible to pull up a chair and put your legs under the table. The owners may never have realized this, but it's a shame to eat in such an awkward position. Another minor drawback was the very noisy dining room. When it came time to pay, the bill was very expensive for what we received on our plates and the service. This was especially true when we were charged for a full menu when it was supposed to be a starter and main course. Unfortunately, we can't give this experience more than one star and will not be returning to this establishment. In response to the establishment's review: The response unfortunately demonstrates the establishment's lack of self-reflection. What is described above is factual. When something is good, you say so, and when it isn't, you say so too. Spending such a large sum in a restaurant only to have a bad experience is truly a shame and should be mentioned. We're not competitors, not even from the restaurant industry. However, we are bon vivants, good eaters, and appreciate fresh produce. Unfortunately, no one asked us how the meal went; we would have been happy to share our opinion with you in person.

29/08/2026: We arrived at 1 PM with a reservation for lunch for two on August 17th. The service couldn't have been worse. One waiter was serving both the terrace and the interior, and another was taking payments and bringing out the orders, which were being prepared by a single cook. It was quite busy, and they were overwhelmed. The service was incredibly slow. They were completely out of salads for the first courses, so we went straight to the main courses. For the main courses, we had to order the only things left: a minced beef steak and a duck skewer. Nothing out of the ordinary. We had to wait again. They had several types of cake and ice cream. The cakes... were sold out. Anyway, we asked for the bill and left hungry, two hours later, and €58 poorer. That's all I have to say. I can't recommend a place like this.

28/08/2026: A very warm welcome. We've been customers for many years and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food. A friendly and welcoming restaurant, we highly recommend it.

25/08/2026: Good food, warm welcome, and excellent service. The only drawbacks, which prevented us from giving it 5 stars, were the terrace being practically on the road and the tables being very close together, and of course the prices, but that's become common in Val d'Isère!

18/08/2026: The service was adequate and the location was good. However, I was disappointed with the "artisanal" ice cream, which had a strangely artificial taste. I also would have preferred real lemonade instead of the Sprite I was served. I find it difficult to agree with all the reviews left on Google...
