07/07/2026: A perfect evening thanks to Hermine! There were seven of us for dinner with friends at La Demeure Monceau, and we had a wonderful time, largely thanks to Hermine, our lovely waitress. Her warm welcome, helpful advice, and efficiency throughout the meal made the evening even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, and her attentive service left us with an even more memorable experience. Thank you, Hermine, we will gladly return!

03/07/2026: Great experience! Honestly, it was absolutely delicious. The pizzas are generously topped, the dough is excellent, and the ingredients are full of flavor. Everything arrived piping hot, and the portions are generous. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. I highly recommend it!

13/09/2025: The restaurant has fundamentally changed its concept. Not a disaster in itself, but they should update the links/photos. Completely understaffed, one overwhelmed waiter for the entire dining room. The kitchen is taking it easy meanwhile. Way too hot inside. The food was okay, nothing special. We just wanted to leave...

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.

25/06/2026: The staff were cold and unprofessional. Even in the sweltering heat, they refused to give us water carafes because we hadn't ordered any food.

24/02/2026: Very tired God forgotten place with food that reminded me of post war times and where cappuccino tasted more like hot chocolate and costs 4 euros per coffee even though the price on the machine clearly states 2.60 euros. It took 5 min for someone to come out from the kitchen to serve us. Food and deco looked so uninviting that we decided to just order a coffee and leave. I would not recommend.

10/02/2026: Update from January 10, 2026: Back at this cafe and it was very, very good, simple, and inexpensive. Basic but very tasty starters. Main course: roast chicken, super delicious, with green vegetables, potatoes, and jus. Absolutely fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was a generous portion! A small chocolate mousse-style dessert, so very good. I loved it because it was well-prepared and homemade; it was absolutely delicious, well done! Original post: Great food. We had the chicken escalope with tarragon sauce, which was to die for: perfectly tender, flavorful, a delight. The vegetables were great. The welcome was incredibly kind and pleasant; we felt very comfortable. The decor is very nice. In short, a good cafe-style restaurant, but of high quality. Just a slightly smaller selection of starters and desserts, but it's not a big deal. Thank you to the owners.

03/06/2026: Dear Owner, I recently purchased a prawn biryani from your restaurant for €12.50, and unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality. The prawns and rice did not seem to be cooked properly, and the dish was not enjoyable. What concerned me even more was that when I placed my order at the cashier, I overheard the staff asking the chef how to prepare a prawn biryani, and the cashier mentioned that it should be made similar to a mutton biryani. This gave me the impression that there may be a lack of proper knowledge or consistency in preparing this dish. As customers, we pay good money for the food we order, and we expect it to be prepared correctly and served at an acceptable standard. You are not providing the food for free; we are paying for quality and service. I kindly request that you take the necessary steps to improve the preparation and quality control of your food so that future customers have a better experience. Thank you for your attention. We wanted a simple yet visually stunning Italian meal, and frankly, everything was exactly as we envisioned. The taste, the flavors, the colors... What more could we ask for on our wedding day? 04/07/2026: We didn't understand the owner. We'd barely stepped inside. We had our dogs with us after our lovely walk along the canal. We were immediately accosted by the owner with a very curt, "I don't allow dogs." Which we completely understand. It's a food store (or at least I think so, since we didn't see any in the end). But why bark at us like that? I immediately left with the dogs, but after my wife called out to us, the owner doubled down with, "I don't allow dogs. Get out!" It's a shame, not a greeting, not a smile. I understand that dogs aren't allowed, but a little politeness in saying so wouldn't hurt. This review in no way judges the quality of the store, which we didn't have the opportunity to visit.

24/07/2026: Excellent kebab sandwich with raw vegetables like we used to eat in the 80s in the neighborhood. We called it a gee... very friendly owner.

18/05/2026: On a weekend in Paris, we had a great quick kebab! The homemade white sauce was delicious! A REAL kebab. A big THANK YOU for your warm welcome and generous smile.

13/07/2026: We stopped by chance, but we'll definitely be back! My mother had a homemade tarte tatin for afternoon tea, and I had wild blueberry ice cream. The dishes and pastries are made according to the season and what the chef finds at the market (I read it on the menu, and I readily believe it). Excellent value for money, served with kindness and a great sense of humor! A wonderful discovery! 🍀

08/07/2026: I didn't eat, just had an ice cream and a few other drinks. I met a boss like I wish I could meet more often. A bit like me when I ran my bakery. And yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are shopkeepers, always here to serve you, but don't overdo it, and don't take advantage of the situation to do whatever you want, as I unfortunately witnessed.

13/05/2026: Cocktail reception for 18 people. Perfect. Som, the restaurant manager, is very attentive and generous. We had a very pleasant evening. A place to recommend without hesitation.

02/04/2026: We wanted to have lunch there as a stopover during our walk on the Camino de Santiago, but the restaurant was full due to a seminar. The manager offered us a seat on the terrace and allowed us to eat what we had bought at the bakery. So we can't comment on the food, but the service and friendliness were excellent, and the terrace was very pleasant. Thank you very much!

16/05/2026: I came with my children for a family stay. The room was clean, as always in these hotels, but the bath towels were far too small. But the real surprise was that the top bunk wasn't made, and when I pointed it out, I was told: "That's standard Ibis Budget!" I'm stunned. Is it standard practice to make fun of customers who are choosing a budget hotel? It's shameful... and what's more, I'm sure it's untrue because we've stayed in several Ibis Budget hotels and I've NEVER made the top bunk myself (Ibis Aubagne and Ibis Strasbourg, among others...). The staff were not friendly at all. Two positive points: breakfast and accessibility.

09/05/2026: A lovely hotel with ample parking and plenty of Tesla chargers. The rooms are clean and well laid out, though a bit small. But perfectly adequate for sleeping. The mattresses are comfortable.
