11/09/2026: The Soubeyran Gate is one of the most iconic monuments in the historic center of Manosque. Located north of the old town, this monumental gate marked one of the main entrances to the city through its medieval ramparts. History and Architecture Construction and Alterations: Erected in the 14th century (around 1382) to protect the city from invasions and banditry, the gate was later modified, notably in the 17th century with the addition of its bell tower. Wrought Iron Bell Tower: The structure is surmounted by an elegant wrought iron bell tower in the shape of a baluster, characteristic of the Provençal style, housing a bell. Defensive Architecture: The building retains its imposing appearance with its crenellations, machicolations, and pointed arch marking the entrance to the main shopping street in the city center. Role and Tourist Significance Entrance to the Old Town: It forms the transition between the modern town and the historic pedestrian center of Manosque, leading to Place Marcel Pagnol and Rue Grande. Listed Heritage: The building is listed as a Historical Monument and, along with the Porte Saunerie to the south, represents one of the two remaining major vestiges of the town's medieval fortifications.

03/09/2026: While in the area, I stopped by one evening to try the five-meat couscous. It was hearty and flavorful. The next day I returned and tried the mechoui. It was just as generous, with a large piece of meat that melted in your mouth. Honestly, this is a place worth trying. The staff is very friendly. Top-notch!

02/09/2026: The welcome was pleasant; we were a table of eight. Opinions were very mixed, both regarding the quantity and quality of the food. For me, the fish in the tagine was overcooked and dry; unfortunately, not the best I've ever tasted. A little disappointed.

20/08/2026: Good and hearty. Special mention for the shrimp spring rolls. My husband really enjoyed the caramel chicken.

23/07/2026: Homemade Vietnamese cuisine, four set menus including a vegetarian option, a lunchtime express menu, and two other menus at approximately €18 and €23, each with several choices. Excellent value for money, generous portions, everything makes you want to return. We were with a baby and everything went smoothly even without a dedicated changing table; the owner quickly and efficiently arranged a separate table for us.

01/10/2026: Appointment on time. Very pleasant doctor, explained things well. It's a shame that for the follow-up we have to go back to Haute-Savoie to the sports medicine doctor's orthopedic department... Thank you to the whole team for the quick appointment.

28/09/2026: What a terrible clinic, what appalling staff in the emergency room! I arrived on my own around 6:40 PM on a weekday evening after a fall and severe knee pain. The nurse, who was clearly disgusted, told me there was a 7-8 hour wait because there was only one doctor and they weren't making any progress! You call this an emergency?!

02/06/2026: We were looking for a small restaurant for lunch after arriving in Paris and spontaneously found this one. We received very friendly advice, the prices were reasonable for the platter de jour, which was very generous and delicious. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

09/09/2026: We stopped here on a whim and were completely satisfied! The friendliest waiter ever served us tarte flambée, pizza, schnitzel, and fries, and everything tasted delicious! The atmosphere is clean and rustic, and our dog was very welcome and greeted warmly! A big "thank you" again, we'll definitely be back!

30/06/2026: We arrived, everything was fine, and then 15 minutes later they told us it was closing time and asked us to leave. What's more, the manager swept the sidewalk and left all the cigarette butts and other trash in the street.

29/07/2026: I ordered several takeaway pizzas and for the first time I'm disappointed. The pizza dough is different and noticeably less good. The toppings have also decreased in both quantity and quality.

08/05/2026: Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Honestly, nothing to say, it's top-notch! I just got home from work and I can tell you it's the best pizzeria in Loos and Lille. The staff is wonderful, very welcoming and attentive. As for the pizza... it's amazing! Fantastic, fantastic, excellent. Quality ingredients and delicious flavor. Go for it without hesitation, it's 100% approved!"

10/10/2026: A very disappointing experience, both in terms of service and the staff's attitude. If I could, I would give zero stars. We had to wait a long time before ordering and even longer to pay the bill. We decided to pay at the counter, but the waiter couldn't find our table on his screen and seemed annoyed that I hadn't brought the receipt to the register. He retrieved the receipt from our table and told me the bill was €18. I pointed out that this amount seemed high compared to what we ordered, asked for my receipt, and indeed, we saw that the bill was €16, not €18. So, I urge you to check your receipts carefully. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and simply apologizing, the waiter became angry, telling us that "to err is human," without any apology or attempt to reflect on his actions. Of course, everyone makes mistakes. However, the least one can do is acknowledge them and remain respectful towards customers. The service was deplorable from beginning to end, and the waiter's attitude made the experience even more unpleasant. I want to clarify that I'm not usually one to leave negative reviews, but this experience disappointed me enough that I felt compelled to share my opinion. A minimum of professionalism, respect, and politeness would have been enough to avoid this review. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment based on our experience.

25/09/2026: Adore The Gourmandine in all ways.. lovely friendly and efficient staff overseen by the ever charming Fabien, good varied menu at a decent price, excellent meeting place right by the slopes.
