17/05/2026: New owners, and the difference is immediately apparent! As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, clean, and bright space. The menu offers something for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, with a special mention for the French toast 😋 A must-try soon!

14/05/2026: Very disappointed considering the price of the room. In poor condition. The shutters were held together with wire so we didn't dare close them, the bed was uncomfortable, the carpet was worn, the shower had no place to put the shower head and a plastic curtain, no place to put the soap... there were stains on the floor, the paint and wallpaper need replacing, the decor was outdated with plastic flowers and a shabby wardrobe... I do not recommend it.

09/06/2026: ⭐⭐ 2/5 — Beautiful historic setting, but 100% outsourced catalog. The shop located under the arcades of Rue Royale is aesthetically remarkable, and the service is perfectly adequate. However, an analysis of the products reveals a blatant lack of local authenticity. Although the brand claims to be the "oldest chocolate shop in Orléans since 1760," it no longer makes its own products. The online catalog and the specialties offered in-store (notably the chocolate crottins and camemberts) are perfect clones, down to the last cent, of the product descriptions of Maison Mercier, based in the Cher region. The descriptions and prices are exactly the same. 😱 The chocolates are objectively of good quality, but if your goal is to consume or give authentic, handcrafted chocolate, made in the pure Orléans tradition and crafted locally, it is better to turn to the city's independent artisans. Update following the owner's official response: Rating maintained (2/5). So be it: this is not "subcontracting" in the strict sense, but rather integration by Maison Mercier, which crafts its products in its own workshops in Baugy, in the Cher department (18). In terms of customer experience and transparency, the fundamental problem remains unchanged. The major historical claim displayed in the window—"Oldest chocolate shop in Orléans since 1760"—serves as a marketing facade. The Orléans identity is disconnected from the reality of production: 100% of the catalog, price lists, and product descriptions are exact replicas of a brand from another department. Similar to the labeling irregularities observed in other local food sectors (such as honey), the deliberate maintenance of this geographical ambiguity in the shop—without explicit display of the origin at the time of purchase—biases consumer consent. The craftsmanship remains artisanal and of high quality, but the added value is no longer local to Orléans. For chocolate truly made on-site by independent local artisans, my initial advice remains the same.

16/07/2026: Be warned, if you order breakfast, the hot chocolate tastes like water, despite being sold by the waitress as "super hot chocolate." It's made in a machine with powdered milk or just water, not with fresh milk like the old-fashioned way, and all for €4.90... Furthermore, holiday vouchers aren't accepted for breakfast, only for lunch or dinner. We will definitely never return to this establishment.

16/07/2026: A very warm welcome (Marc), the waiter seated us at a table in the shade as requested. He served us throughout the entire dinner and we highly recommend his attentiveness and kindness. A very pleasant evening.

22/07/2026: I very rarely leave negative reviews for restaurants. I prefer to highlight the ones I've truly enjoyed. But this time, my disappointment was so great that after much hesitation, I finally decided to share my experience. It's undoubtedly all the greater because I lived in Japan and am very familiar with its culture and the politeness that characterizes it. That's why I never imagined that, having reserved a table at this restaurant, I would be greeted so rudely, especially by a Japanese woman! The reason given, at least ostensibly, was that the kitchen was about to close and that I therefore needed to hurry and place my order. However, I had reserved a table, and what's more, it wasn't even the last available slot. The food was good, but it wasn't enough to make up for my disappointment. As I was leaving, I even tried to say "see you soon" in Japanese, but I only received a strange and hostile look in return. What a shame. I certainly do not recommend this restaurant and I have no intention of ever going back.

18/07/2026: I had a reservation with them for friends, then suddenly they closed without warning. Impossible to reach them; Google says to go to their website, but the number on the website is invalid... and it's been like this for several months now. Still waiting for a refund.

13/06/2026: The food is fantastic, fresh and refined, and the service is top-notch. A superb place for a romantic dinner; the atmosphere is very calm and intimate.

12/06/2026: Beyond being delicious, the food is very filling, the orders are always accurate, the dishes are flavorful, the prices are quite reasonable, and the wait is also minimal. The only downside is the lack of seating, but you get used to it.

13/06/2026: This used to be my go-to place for Kâak warka in Paris, but lately the crust has become too thick, making the pastry a bit dry, which is a shame. It's still a good Tunisian pastry shop, though not the cheapest.

09/06/2026: I came to buy cakes for a dinner party and I wasn't even able to taste a single one before buying them. I took a large box advertised as weighing 1 kg. On the scale, it weighed 982 g. The saleswoman then added another cake, saying, "Here, it's free." The total weight then increased to 1006 g, which I saw myself on the scale. I think this is a shame, because it wasn't really a gesture of goodwill but simply a way to reach the advertised weight. Furthermore, the interaction was rather cold, as if I were bothering her. A disappointing experience.

09/02/2026: Visited in December, the waiter was very unpleasant in his words and attitude! Clearly frustrated that a woman spoke up! I just want to leave this place as soon as possible!

09/11/2025: It was fine. They didn't even answer the phone for a reservation. That's rubbish.

19/09/2025: I booked online, which went smoothly, but once I arrived at the restaurant... it was closed! I looked everywhere; I was definitely at the right door. The online opening hours matched the website and my reservation. Furthermore, I called, but the number wasn't even in service, and there was no information whatsoever, neither the opening hours on their door nor any message indicating they were closed. It's in moments like these that you see how little they care about their customers.

05/08/2026: Excellent quality and fresh, the prices are very reasonable, I highly recommend this place.

19/07/2026: In the heart of the Brauhauban market, a very lively and welcoming place. Pleasant and smiling staff. Fresh and delicious oysters accompanied by a very well-matched white wine. Salted butter with perfect crystals of salt. A minor point about the bread: rye bread (or country bread or traditional bread) would have provided a better flavor pairing.

30/06/2026: Excellent brunch! The set menu, including a savory dish, a sweet treat, a hot drink, and a cold drink, completely won us over. The food was delicious and the service was quick. A great place for brunch. We'll definitely be back!

30/06/2026: This place is a complete rip-off. The servers are unfit for the job. When I ordered a Coke, which was outrageously expensive at €6.40 (unheard of in this neighborhood), I asked for a carafe of water for my friends and me because it was hot. The water was lukewarm and disgusting. When I went to pay for my Coke by card, the server entered €6.90 on the terminal, and when I told him, "It's €6.40," he said there was an extra €0.50 charge after 8 pm. He didn't tell us this when we ordered. It's incompetence. Disgusting.

04/05/2026: The place to be in Valletta for a wonderful lunch and afternoon on the terrace after a morning of skiing. The staff is fantastic and the location is excellent, all at reasonable prices (for a mountain resort).

22/07/2026: I'm Belgian and I was coming back from a concert on Saturday, July 11th. At 18, I was just looking for somewhere to get a soft drink or some water. Around 2:30 am, I saw people on the terrace and inside, so I figured it was still open. I approached the entrance, and that's when a man, whom I presume to be the owner, yelled at me like I was nothing, telling me to "get out." He practically insulted me. This lack of respect is unacceptable. I asked him where I could find somewhere to get a drink, but he kept yelling. It's completely disproportionate towards a young tourist. In short, it's really a shame I have to publish this review because this interaction made me incredibly uncomfortable even two weeks later... I suspect this situation was disproportionate because he either mistook me for a homeless person or simply because I'm tanned, but given the crazy world we live in, that wouldn't surprise me at all...

05/07/2026: A very bad experience. I ordered iced chocolate, and the waiter confirmed they made it. However, he brought me hot chocolate. When I pointed out the mistake, he rolled his eyes, sighed, and then responded rudely, claiming I had never ordered iced chocolate. The most shocking part was his response: "Just put an ice cube in it." Mistakes happen, but such unprofessionalism and a dismissive attitude are unacceptable. I will not be returning.

01/08/2026: I ordered a salmon poke bowl to go and was disappointed because the rice was bland with very little sauce, there was hardly any salmon, and a third of the avocado was black and inedible, but they left it in anyway. It was canned mango, which was very poor value for money. I didn't enjoy my meal, although the staff were pleasant.

14/07/2026: Terrible...deserves zero stars. The terrace was packed for the match at 8 pm...we waited 50 minutes for a drink, finally going to the bar, and when we ordered our food, after a one-hour wait...they offered us tapas because of a problem in the kitchen...it was match night...and only two servers...for a full terrace...shameful and disrespectful to the young servers.
