17/08/2026: What a disappointment! My family and I used to go there for a few years when the previous owner was still there. Today we were there and had a two-hour wait due to a serious lack of organization. As for the food, it used to be good. They were turning people away at 1 p.m. I felt sorry for the poor waitress who couldn't do anything about it and seemed completely fed up with the situation. It's a shame, it used to be nice, but that was then.

13/08/2026: This isn't the Schtouwa we used to know. There weren't enough vegetables with the hanger steak, so we ordered a salad on the side. The steak seems smaller since the change of ownership, and the shallot sauce must be a pre-packaged (gelatinous) mix. The dining room was half empty; perhaps it's the holidays, but maybe customers are going elsewhere. Get your act together.

09/05/2026: Horrible experience. I was assaulted and verbally abused by a customer behind me who pushed me and tried to touch me. I told him to calm down. The owner refused to give me a refund even though his wife had told me to come back with the JNR box and the defective cigarette. Then he had the nerve to tell me, "You've been here several times and you're never happy. We don't give refunds, I'm not selling you anything anymore, get out of here!" The customer laughed at me while saying, and I quote, "Good luck to people like that," pointing his finger at me. Anyway, I left in tears. It's unbelievable why there's so much aggression and hatred in this filthy tobacco shop. Yes, there are only scumbags here. It's easy to assault a petite blonde!

04/05/2026: Hotel with rooms for solo travelers. Spacious room with a single bed and a large shower room. Friendly staff and 24-hour reception.

15/04/2026: This hotel is a disgrace. I don't understand how it can have four stars; it's a one-star hotel at best. It's dirty, unprofessional, needs a complete renovation, and they serve you yesterday's stale breakfast...

01/07/2026: Stopped here while cycle touring along the Velo Scenic and quickly discovered the place is totally anti-cyclists. We thought they were joking to begin with but then some UK ex-pats explained that the barman pretty much hates all forms of cyclists. It was buzzing inside with locals so presumably the owner doesn't need any more customers, in particular cyclists. There is a very nice cafe around the back of this place so go there instead.

05/05/2026: The manager came out in the pouring rain to chase us away; we were two women on bikes on the sidewalk, ready to make his entire day's sales. This man has many talents—perhaps he was torn between a career as a bouncer and running a restaurant. In the meantime, we highly recommend the establishment to Philippe Etchebest, who loves ambitious projects.

29/08/2026: Passing by, the Moulin des Aumieres in the dome is open Monday to Saturday. Sourdough baguette €1.25, a delight! 15/08/2026: As a restaurant professional, I am very dissatisfied with the behavior of the owner of this bakery. While the baker is very pleasant and friendly, the owner clearly doesn't want to work, wastes everyone's time, and is undeniably hindering his own business. He talks a lot but gets nothing done and prevents everyone from working properly. It's no wonder I'm reading the comments on this site. Dear sir, I think it's time to call it quits!

27/07/2026: A seasoned shopkeeper in the Croix-Rousse district... Here you'll find generous and excellent breads, delicious and high-quality pastries... As for the service, I think some customers should look at their friendliness; kindness goes both ways...

18/07/2026: I agree with all the reviews; the pastries and bread are very good, but the service is far from welcoming. Unfortunately for the person working in the kitchen, the waitresses and owner don't make you want to come back. Ladies, come down from your silver tower.

11/08/2026: I strongly advise against going there. I was initially quoted €18, but after insisting that this wasn't the correct price, it dropped to €15, then €12, and finally to €7.10. I find this completely unprofessional and, above all, very suspicious in terms of pricing. Be careful and always ask for the correct price before paying.

11/08/2026: Very disappointed. The staff said I had to order something to use the restroom, which I did, and after ordering, the staff informed me that there were no restrooms after all, what a coincidence!

14/06/2026: Hello For a fruit platter costing 70 euros, half of it consisted only of apples, with very few other fruit varieties. The fruit itself was very good, but we were disappointed.

22/08/2026: The brunette receptionist spoke in a very curt tone, and what's more, she forgot the sugar for an espresso, as well as offering tote bags. The croissant was dry, as if it were almost yesterday's. I won't be back.

15/08/2026: A very bad experience. We had reserved a basket on Too Good To Go and, upon arriving at the bakery, we discovered it was closed. Three different customers had gone there to pick up their orders. I find it a shame that the baskets were still being offered on the app when there weren't any available. We made the trip for nothing and wasted our time. Very disappointed with this experience.
