10/06/2026: Coffee for €1 at the counter; I've been a regular for a year now. The atmosphere is friendly, even with the other customers, thanks to the owner and the waiter. I also often have lunch there; the dishes are affordable, varied, and tasty. I highly recommend it.
10/06/2026: A warm and lively neighborhood bistro, especially on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. I love enjoying their cheeseburger at the counter. The staff, both day and night, are friendly and professional—well done! The new team is phenomenal.

28/05/2026: I'm ngl. I couldn't tell you what was on the pizza I just ordered. Of course, each individual ingredient has a name or a way to be described in English. That's not the problem. The limiting reactant in my futile attempt to describe this culinary experiment is that there are simply no words hitherto invented that can even begin to capture the taste, no, the experience that is a pizza du sud ouest. I remember once having a debate among my classmates on whether words were in fact metaphors, not the perfect messengers of information that they promise to be, but instead a mere facade behind which true meaning resides untouched by human comprehension. I understand now that it was the pizza that touched me. Indeed, I feel like Winston Smith, imagination bursting with ideas unsatisfied but a conscious bounded by the chains of langauge. The naive passerby simply looking for their next meal might inquire how I might speak so. The recipe is in no way special to this establishment as of my knowledge and the list of ingredients offers a plethora of flavors and textures, a myriad of French delicacies placed in front of you upon a silver, doughy platter. Foie gras, duck breast, dried figs, pine seeds, goat cheese, I am no stranger nor dissenter to these delights, and should I have the privilege to dine on even one of these, no reservation would hamper my showering of five star reviews, but sometimes the total is not the sum of its parts. Two perfectly tuned notes might birth a devilish, discordant dissonance, and it quickly becomes painfully evident in ones first creative world that diamond and gold blocks are not in fact the best building materials for a house. The Bible teaches its followers not to mix meat and dairy, and just as how combining two guns does NOT make mauga a good character, these individual gifts from God form a Satanic pentagram on ones palate, summoning a pandemonium of paroxysm upon anyone bold enough for the challenge. Nevertheless, I envy not him with the blissful ignorance of inexperience, nor would I consider this an unpleasant endeavor. While I'll be content leaving my duck breast and dried figs as separate dishes, I implore every adventurer to embark this culinary journey, for it is moments like ones first bite into a pizza du sud ouest that make life worth living. Oh, and the steak was alright.

16/06/2026: The "gourmet weekend" package truly lives up to its name! The restaurant is excellent, with refined, fresh, and flavorful cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed everything from appetizer to dessert in a chic and tranquil setting. Kudos to the entire team, both in the kitchen and the dining room: it was fantastic (and the wine list was varied, a bonus for wine lovers)! As for the rest, the hotel staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean and comfortable (the roller shutters were a nice touch), the breakfast was generous and varied, and the Wi-Fi worked well. In short, the establishment is perfect for a gourmet and relaxing getaway.

13/06/2026: Couscous restaurants have almost all become mediocre, with poor-quality meat and broth that's almost always too greasy. Le Cercle is an exception. A delight: quality and freshness! An exception not only in Auxerre and the Yonne region, but also nationally. For example, despite my extensive experience, I couldn't name a single North African restaurant in Paris or the Île-de-France region in general that's as good as Le Cercle. Warm welcome and fast service to boot. Bravo!
17/05/2026: We were spending the weekend in Auxerre and stumbled upon this great place. We thoroughly enjoyed the merguez couscous, and the staff's friendliness was a real bonus. We highly recommend it!

13/06/2026: A friendly welcome and we were shown to our table. There are only a few tables with a view. Since only three tables were occupied, we got the full force of the service, which didn't change even when it got a bit busier. The tables, which were far too small, were already set, but the server clearly lacked training. The aperitif was placed to the left of each place setting. Now, quickly, we had to take our order. Not another wine? You just brought us the aperitif; we'll decide later. The wine glasses were immediately taken away. After a few minutes, the appetizer arrived, which we ate with our aperitif. I still had the last piece of bread in my hand and was still chewing when the plates were cleared away. Now, quickly, we had to order the wine. And then the main courses arrived. The plates were extremely hot, and we were told to wait. I immediately understood why. My meat was only lukewarm, the vegetables even colder. The sauce, however, had a skin on it. Clearly, the food had been kept warm. That explains the server's haste. ``` The quality of the food was good, as far as one could judge under the circumstances. We finished with dessert in an hour. The bill was already on the sideboard with the dessert. The credit card charge is to Emeraude. That's a shame.
05/06/2026: We discovered a warm, cozy, and peaceful restaurant, a welcome change from the hustle and bustle sometimes found elsewhere. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was exceptionally pleasant and attentive. The hostess professionally recommended several dishes, which convinced us to stay for dinner. We certainly didn't regret it. Everything was perfect: the quality of the food, the presentation, the service, and the attention to detail. The staff truly went above and beyond throughout the meal, in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. A wonderful discovery that we wholeheartedly recommend. We will be back very soon!
