19/07/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An excellent shop on the Grand Place! Ideally located in the heart of Valenciennes, this Nicolas wine shop is a real gem. Although the space isn't huge, the store is impeccably laid out and a real pleasure to browse. You immediately feel at home. The selection is impressive: the whisky section is incredibly comprehensive, and the wine selection is very extensive, perfect for finding the ideal bottle, whether as a gift or a treat for yourself. A very pleasant surprise on the price front as well: I was expecting much higher prices, but they are surprisingly affordable! Finally, a special mention for the service: the staff are incredibly kind, truly attentive to customers, and offer excellent advice without ever being pushy. A neighborhood shop just the way we like them, one that makes you want to return regularly. You can go there with your eyes closed!

The mussels were average, the Italian salad wasn't anything special either (I could have made something just as good), and the gourmet coffees were so-so. I won't recommend it even though the setting and staff were friendly.
