14/05/2026: A bit of a mixed bag! The decor is superb, and the service was perfect. However, I was very disappointed with the carbonara... The pasta was way overcooked, there was very little egg yolk in the sauce, and it was also very under-seasoned. What a shame 😭

25/04/2026: What a gem of a find?! Very French, delicious food, a perfect vibe and very lovely staff. In fact our waiter was phenomenal. An absolute ‘must go’ place if you are anywhere in this side of the hemisphere. Wish we had a place half as nice back in Blighty. Thank you.pup

25/04/2026: Restaurant It's very well located and the tables are spaced far enough apart, which is very comfortable. The seafood platter was very fresh but ultimately rather small. For €49, I expected better: just white bread, a small bowl of vinegar for three people, some items sold by weight, so it's hard to say if it was reasonable for the price... The young woman who served us the platter put it at the end of the table without taking the time to present it to us. However, the more experienced waitress took the time to present their wine list to us. Not disappointed, but not blown away either.

30/05/2026: Reservation made at the beginning of the week, Monday, May 25, 2026, late in the day, for Saturday, May 30 at 12:30 PM, and SURPRISE, no reservation was made because there was a christening! No phone call from them to apologize either! We were coming from Italy. I called to express my surprise, and a woman gave me the cold shoulder and hung up on me… BRAVO 👏👏👏👏👏👏

19/05/2026: This came recommended by our AirBnB owner. We had a lovely dinner with fantastic food! The waitress was very friendly! We appreciated their “formula” of being able to order 2 or 3 courses—to share, I got the entree and main, my partner got the main and dessert. Very reasonable pricing for how good our meal was!

13/03/2026: My wife and I were in Paris for a few days and we found this restaurant,so we said let’s take a shot . Being Italian and from NYC, the food was amazing and the 2 ladies in front were so friendly and welcoming. We had planned on going back again for the pizza and ravioli but as things go we just didn’t have time. I would love to go back again 1 day

07/06/2026: Amazing place and hosts, such lovely people. After travelling through the Pyrenees for two weeks, we finally felt like we ate proper, good French food. It was trully excellent, best meal we had all trip. We hope to come back here one day and regret staying in Aulus-les-bains instead of here. If you are planning to explore the area, I would definitely recommend this hotel as your base. Or also just for a one night stop or to eat. We also saw an otter swim as we sat at our table overlooking the river. The owners can tell you all kinds of amazing things about the region and they are happy to have a chat with you which is great if you're looking for things to do

07/06/2026: We arrived unexpectedly on a Saturday evening, June 6th, 2026, at 8 pm, with 11 people. We received a wonderfully warm welcome. The meat was perfect, the cassoulet perfect, the foie gras perfect, and the presentation of the meat before cooking was exquisite. I highly recommend this restaurant.

27/05/2026: It took 1 hour and 40 minutes to get two drinks, two salads, and two soups... The restaurant isn't full; there's a lack of organization. Takeout orders seem to be prioritized over dine-in orders. This was my second visit, and it confirmed my initial impression. If you have the time... don't forget a book or a podcast.

05/05/2026: It was with great pleasure that I entered this building, ravenous for food. Unfortunately, once seated, we received our menus almost instantly, made our choices, and ordered. That's when the wait seemed like an eternity, and rightly so, because the wait was excessively long: 40 minutes for the small salad, another 15 for the hot soup, and another 15 for the gyoza we had as an appetizer, only to wait another 20 minutes to finally eat our meal, which we had been waiting for for an hour and a half. We had exhausted all topics of conversation, having just come off vacation, and when the food finally arrived, we were speechless with hunger. Aside from that, the food was very good and far exceeded our expectations. In short, get it delivered; it will be simpler.

21/05/2026: The pizza was good, but the service was appalling. Upon entering, the waitress simply called out "yes?" without a greeting or any politeness. Frankly, this is unacceptable in a business. Respect for the customer is fundamental. It's a shame, because the pizza was good, but because of the waitress's behavior, I won't be returning.

16/03/2026: First lunch in the Charente region, and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A fantastic, discreet spot in winter, but perfect for indulging in delicious food… Moreover, the service was very pleasant. I highly recommend it!
