16/06/2026: Passing through the area, we spent one night in this very well-located hotel. The staff was welcoming, the rooms clean, quiet, and comfortable, the breakfast varied, and the common areas were funly decorated. However, we didn't meet Cachou, the owner, who was probably out and about. Perhaps another time...

31/08/2026: As a family of 5, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camping Déjà Vu. We had a smile on our faces right from the moment we arrived. The spacious pitches (certainly nice when camping with De Waard) stood out immediately, as did the relaxed atmosphere, the children playing, and the sheer amount of greenery. As far as I'm concerned, this campsite definitely falls into the 'nature campsite' category. Our children (7, 10, and 12) enjoyed themselves constantly. I had some doubts beforehand about whether our eldest would enjoy herself. After all, with about 30 pitches, you always have to see if there is enough social interaction. I needn't have had those doubts. Every day there was wonderful playing, swimming, or whatever else is part of campsite life. The owners are very friendly, approachable, and visible. Very nice. If you needed something, they offered advice or you could borrow something for a moment. Even in 40-degree heat, it was a pleasant stay at the campsite. Our spacious pitch always had shade. The campsite is also a wonderful base for day trips. Bonaguil Castle is just a little further away. We visited towns like Sarlat, Cahors, Monflanquin (where there was a very fun medieval festival that weekend, highly recommended), and the Dommd Caves. There are various small lakes in the area. And the many Marché Gourmands. Fun activities were also regularly organized at the campsite, such as a boat race and dinner on the terrace in the evening. And every morning, our children looked forward to the morning newspaper with fun facts and tips.

31/07/2026: Fantastic campsite, very friendly atmosphere, delicious food in the restaurant, also for children. We have been coming here for four years in a row, at the request of the children (8 and 10 years old). We have never felt like we've returned anywhere else, but here it feels like coming home every year. Super campsite 👍

24/08/2026: We didn't try the food as we weren't hungry, but we peeked in to see if it was like it was when I was a child, and we were greeted by the lovely staff. The setting was still exceptional and clean, and my two daughters, aged 3 and 5, were thrilled to see the airplane on the ceiling. Thank you for your hospitality.

01/09/2026: Very disappointed by our last meal there; it's been a few years since we last went. It's not bad, but it's not worth the price. First red flag: no wine pairing. Second red flag: an absurd wine list; the cheapest bottle is nearly €100. Third red flag: impossible to get a second glass of butter! The cheese was pre-cut as thin as cigarette paper. It wasn't gourmet at all. 😞

30/03/2026: The Scala restaurant in Pithiviers is an institution, part of the town's history, and has been there for over 38 years. The Scala, which has never once been a problem for me (people of Pithiviers), has wanted to sell for ages. The staff (the owner) are tired of the environment and the shop next door. They say it every day: "We can't take the shop or the people around the Scala anymore." Isn't it time for the Scala, after so many years, to retire?

03/07/2026: Hot day, looking for somewhere to find a basic lunch. Got very lucky at this place. Traditional Bistro salad dishes, but never had one with a kind of nan bread full of hot goat cheese before (plus all the usual salad goodness). Excellent, great service, fairly priced.

09/09/2026: Where to begin with this "restaurant"? I use quotation marks because the experience was rather comical. According to the rest of the group, the pinsas were good. I ordered fish and chips. It was frozen and very dry. To make it more appealing, we asked for sauces. Three times. On the fourth attempt, I asked a young waitress who immediately took care of it. One of my friends is allergic to peanut oil, so she couldn't eat the fries that came with her meal. These things happen. Instead, she was served a tiny portion of vegetables. Shameful. During the service, a waiter mistakenly took one of my friends' still-full glasses and put his fingers in it. He realized the glass was still full but put it back on the table. We don't doubt this gentleman's hygiene (he didn't look like an inexperienced waiter), but still, wouldn't bringing my friend a drink have been much more decent? Then came the highlight of the show: the desserts! My waffle was undercooked and resembled a Breton far. The crepes weren't homemade (I'd bet they were Le Ster crepes, but perhaps Metro has better deals) and weren't even warmed in butter (in fact, those who ordered a butter-sugar crepe were still looking for the butter in their dessert). The salted caramel, however, looked very good since a waitress (also experienced) literally licked her fingers in front of us because she had caramel on hers! The two people who raised the bar were the young waitresses, whom we can only commend for working diligently and with a smile.
