03/05/2026: We had a wonderful time as a family; everything was perfect, from the park with the deer and wild boar to the restaurant where we had a truly delicious meal! The staff were dynamic, welcoming, and efficient! I highly recommend this place.

17/05/2026: This is a very cozy hotel that is in a phenomenal location. Personal, with very nice staff at the reception and in the bar. They are happy to help you with good tips for excursions or restaurants worth visiting. A big advantage is that they have rooms that you can stay in together for four people. Perfect for families!

26/05/2026: A great find in the heart of Foix's old town is this Italian-Brazilian restaurant. We were able to eat on the terrace with our dog. The service is fantastic and the food is very good. You can choose from a set menu or various options that include a starter and main course, or a main course and dessert, or a complete meal, at different prices, which is very reasonable. It was a great choice.

02/06/2026: Alliance is one of our favorite dining destinations in Paris. Alliance is an intimate gastronomic temple with brilliant cooking and extraordinarily warm and gracious service. If one had only two nights in Paris - hands down - our two choices for dinner would be the iconic bistro Cafe des Ministeres in the 7th arrondissement for the classical, rustic cooking of Southwestern France from Jean and Roxane Sevegnes and Alliance in the 5th arrondissement for the creative and refined cuisine of Toshitaka Omiya and the wonderfully warm service led by Shawn Joyeux, Chef Omiya’s partner. Over several dinners in recent years (most recently in May), we have marveled at the breadth and complexity of Chef Omiya’s cooking, an exquisite marriage of French and Japanese techniques - creative, nuanced and impeccably balanced. Utilizing the finest and most pristine ingredients, the chef achieves remarkable depth of flavor and textural complexity - whether from vegetables, fungi, crab, sea scallops and the most amazing lamb we have ever tasted. Beginning with always delicious and subtle amuses bouches and continuing through the deftly designed (and always balanced) tasting menus, the food is deeply satisfying. Alliance is a culinary “tour de force”, without a scintilla of excess or pretension. Unlike many excessive, ponderous tasting menus, one never leaves Alliance with that dreaded tasting menu “hangover”. Alliance is a serene and sweet place, ideal for a celebratory dinner in an elegant setting. Mr. Joyeux has constructed one of Paris’s most interesting wine lists, featuring artisanal producers spanning France’s diverse wine regions and a spectacular selection of Champagne, including superb grower Champagnes. Whether from Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Loire or Alsace, the wine list has been thoughtfully designed to complement Chef Omiya’s refined cuisine, offering interesting choices at different price points. We note that we discovered Alliance (as well as Cafe des Ministeres) through Paris By Mouth, Meg Zimbeck’s acclaimed and indispensable guide to Paris dining. It is clear why Ms. Zimbeck was captivated by the brilliance and integrity of these unique venues. We thank Ms. Zimbeck.

22/05/2026: We decided to go to a restaurant at the last minute (around 1:30 pm) on a public holiday. What a wonderful idea! Luckily, L'Abri-Côtier was a fabulous haven! In the little streets of Saint-Brevin, this restaurant welcomed us and delighted our taste buds! A large table was occupied, and the staff did everything they could to minimize our wait (we had to leave at 3 pm after ordering a starter, main course, and dessert—they were working flat out!). We had a truly excellent meal and will definitely be back! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

18/05/2026: Fantastic restaurant, I highly recommend it. The setting is perfect, the staff is incredibly attentive, there's something for everyone, and it's excellent value for money. As an added bonus, we were lucky enough to dine in the wine cellar surrounded by bottles of wine.
