What immediately catches the eye is the meticulously curated window display (as seen in the photo): this season, it's adorned with decorations in warm autumnal colors—leaves, oranges, and small packages—creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's a visual invitation to indulge. But Amorino's true signature is its iconic creation: the flower-shaped (rose) gelato. This ingenious visual means that you first buy the gelato with your eyes. The great advantage of this petal-like presentation is that it allows you to mix as many flavors as you like in a single cone. The gelato and sorbet are renowned for their intense flavor and quality. 18/05/2026: Hi, a place I didn't know about, just passing through. Pleasantly surprised, finally someone who knows how to serve a beer! The steak tartare was prepared so well, I honestly had trouble finishing it, it was very good. I just asked for more dressing for the salad, which was served immediately. I'll be back, thank you for this wonderful meal... I went again tonight. The beer is always well served, and the food... mmm.

16/05/2026: I'm only giving it 3 stars because, frankly, for the price, I find the food extremely poor. Aside from the fries, there wasn't much that was fresh. The chicken escalope with Maroilles cheese was barely cooked in the middle. I couldn't say if it was frozen or not, but in any case, we won't be going back. My dish was good, but that's all. For me, the ingredients are basic and the portions are small (and I'm not a big eater). The atmosphere, however, is very pleasant. The service is otherwise good.

11/05/2026: We tried it again last night after a 3-year hiatus and were pleasantly surprised! The couscous was so good, the meat excellent, flavorful, and tender, as were the fine semolina and vegetables. A real treat! I highly recommend it. See you soon! (3 years ago) Average couscous, bland, greasy lamb skewer, rather disappointed given the number of positive reviews! Change of chef? Pleasant and smiling staff! Also, a tendency to group people together (lack of privacy). I'm adding a comment to the one I posted 3 years ago. I'm adding another star for tonight. We sat on the street side, which was more intimate than in the dining room. The vegetables and semolina were tasty (we were looking for the chickpeas), the meats were served roughly, a thick lamb chop, a thick piece of beef, and the chicken and merguez were okay. I was expecting more of a lamb skewer or neck. Friendly waitress, smiling owner, but nothing particularly warm either. Plate of oriental pastries: 3 gazelle horns.

17/05/2026: A beautiful bookstore tucked away in the countryside where you can browse the books, have a drink or a meal.

12/05/2026: About ten kilometers from Chambon-sur-Lignon, we discovered a true gem in the heart of the countryside: L'Arbe Vagabond, a bookstore combined with a wine bar, an exhibition space, and a restaurant. We went there for the Elisabeth Zanesi exhibition, but instead found a very well-stocked and organized bookstore, offering a wide selection of books and a magnificent exhibition. We had lunch surrounded by books and paintings. The waiter seemed a little gruff and/or shy at first, but he relaxed as the meal progressed. The owner was particularly kind and welcoming. We opted for the "Menu de l'Arbe" (not cheap, €45 per person), but it was excellent. In short, an exceptional morning in an exceptional setting.

18/05/2026: A wonderfully run small hotel with newly renovated rooms and very comfortable beds, right in the center of Turckheim, and featuring an excellent restaurant. Every course of the menu was a pure delight; you can order perfectly paired wines, which further enhances the experience. Perfect service, very good breakfast. Wonderfully quiet at night. The train station is only 400 meters away. Free parking is available Friday through Wednesday at the Place de la Republique, 300 meters away.
