14/06/2026: Until now, I assumed food safety standards in France were something I could take for granted. The strawberry ice cream tasted distinctly off, to the point where we questioned whether it had been stored properly. Thank you for making me reevaluate that assumption.

16/03/2026: When I got home there was nobody there, I understand better now. He served me bubble tea with black dust in the liquid, and he dared to try and tell me it was raspberry pieces when it was just his equipment that was dirty. The place was truly disgusting.

08/08/2026: ❌️ AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU ARE AGAINST ANY TYPE OF DISCRIMINATION ⚫‼️ My two friends and I just had a disconcerting experience. The Context: Three women, professionals in their forties (of North African descent), rather attractive and well-groomed (without being pretentious). We arrived at the entrance of Barbanegra around midnight. There were few people inside (it was August). A bouncer/doorman greeted us, very cold, without a smile. His face was completely closed off, with a condescending look: this very unpleasant man wouldn't let us in even though my friend offered to take a table. After being kept waiting for 10 minutes, we left empty-handed. Being the classy women we are, we didn't insist because we know our worth and social standing. This kind of person has no scruples (judging by the other reviews). It's truly unbelievable to treat potential customers this way, completely ignoring their purchasing power. And yes, unfortunately, in the heart of Paris, in 2026, we can all be subjected to such disdainful treatment. I already had negative preconceptions about this establishment: now it's all come full circle. I'm permanently banning this place and recommend that anyone considering it think carefully about who will be benefiting from your money; I, for one, choose not to condone the intolerable. A word to the wise...

06/08/2026: To answer the question, yes, the bad reviews are well-deserved, don't even think about going here! From the moment it opens, it's a nightmare. Tickets are sold for a 6 PM start, but those times are meaningless, and the opening time is entirely up to the manager. Be prepared to wait at least an extra hour and a half, but I can understand why he's so determined to ruin the evening for the unfortunate attendees... And of course, he won't apologize for the delay. Once you finally get in, it's impossible to find a seat because they're apparently reserved, yet there's no way to reserve them online when you buy your tickets. Perhaps they're just there for decoration, or maybe to annoy the few customers already there. As for the music, it was more noise than anything else. If your goal is to lose your hearing, you've come to the right place; otherwise, run away! Of course, if you happen to want a drink, expect to pay at least €10 for a little water; I'll let you imagine the price of everything else... If you get hungry, it's even worse. You'll be served bagels on par with those from Franprix, which, in my opinion, are much better than what you'd expect from this establishment, but the price doesn't reflect that. Be prepared to spend at least €20 on them... In short, don't waste your time coming here unless you want to ruin your evening.

23/07/2026: I advise the person wearing glasses—apparently the owner—to urgently get hold of "Management for Dummies." They'll discover concepts clearly unknown in this establishment: politeness, respect for the customer, a smile, and professionalism. His odious, contemptuous, and completely inappropriate attitude was enough to ruin the entire experience. When you can't stand customers, perhaps it's time to consider a career that involves no contact with the public. We will obviously never return.

22/07/2026: This is a café where you leave stunned by the manager's rudeness, wondering if what you just experienced was even real. This boor refused to let us order only drinks and threw us out. He must be a very unhappy man to act like that.

11/07/2026: A truly shocking experience. There were flies everywhere in the bakery, including around the pastries. Despite the presence of very strange and old-fashioned fly-repellent devices (small fans) meant to keep them away, the flies continued to land on the cakes. These machines seem completely ineffective and give the impression of being an outdated solution, judging by the results. In a food establishment, this is unacceptable. Such a situation can pose a risk to consumers if the food is contaminated. It is irresponsible to leave products displayed in these conditions. I have never seen such a low level of hygiene in a bakery. I hope that serious measures will be taken quickly, because the health of customers deserves much better.

07/06/2026: Unbearable service! I was alone in the store. Three saleswomen were discussing the previous customer and clearly didn't understand why he left in a huff. I had to interrupt their conversation to be served. Not a hello, not a goodbye. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism from the sales staff at Marie Blachère is almost constant, regardless of the store.

17/06/2026: The pizza was very disappointing, with little flavor and extremely hard edges. The pain au chocolat was okay. The most disappointing aspect was the service: after eating a full meal and staying for about two hours, I was made to pay attention when I asked for a glass of water, even though most of the tables were empty. I felt pressured to order an extra drink. I won't be back.

14/03/2026: I understand from the bartender, Valérie, that you are listening to customers' conversations via your establishment's CCTV system. If this is true, it is a strictly prohibited practice, severely punished by law. CCTV may never be used to capture or listen to private conversations. This invasion of privacy is unacceptable, Madam, for both your staff and your customers. Customers come to a bar to enjoy themselves, not to be monitored or listened to without their knowledge. I demand that you cease these actions and comply with the applicable regulations.

22/04/2026: Waffles identical to those at Lopez, but sold here for almost twice the price. However, that's not really what prompted this review. While waiting for my order, I decided to order a "homemade iced tea." To my surprise, I saw the manager pour a can of Lipton Ice Tea into the machine. At first, I tried to put things in perspective by noticing Lipton stickers on the machine, thinking it might be a commercial partnership. The next day, I asked the manager point-blank if the iced teas were homemade. She answered without hesitation that they were. Presenting a mass-produced, watered-down beverage as a homemade product is simply misleading and deeply dishonest towards customers. For truly homemade iced teas that are better and cheaper, I recommend Café Frappé at 54 Rue Saint-Jacques.

14/06/2026: Used the cash machine in their bar, just to play pool. Asked for a split to play pool, they agreed. Then got very angry at us and borderline squared up to for asking how the pool table worked, as it wasn’t the same as one we had used before. Was so dramatic, then complained about us not having bought a drink yet, 5 minutes into being there, on a Saturday night in June when it was completely empty. Will return to Morzine, but not to this bar.

06/06/2026: Violence and scams, like everyone else, they offered me 10 euros to get in...no problem, a girl joined me, started dancing...they came over to me, "How will you pay?" And then they told me 160 or 300 euros because THEY offered a bottle of champagne, supposedly I had offered it myself...hysteria, pushed by the owner, threats to call people...I escaped, and I will file a complaint.

11/01/2026: Comicly badly run. Staff giving out the wrong items so you need to read your receipt and request extra items like sauces that you have paid for. In my case I even had to give back items they were giving me I had not ordered. The food is soggy and cold. My burger had almost no sauce or ingredients. Despite this they over charge at this place. Go anywhere else!

28/12/2025: If there is 0 stars, i will put them. Do they have a manager to handle them !!!!!! They're very slow, the employees fought infront of us, no prestige, they are working without gloves, nothing.....hey manger wake up or you're involved in this too, Macdonald where are you !!!!
