24/05/2026: We had a wonderful time at Le Convivial restaurant! The food was truly excellent, the terrace was lovely and perfect for relaxing. But the real highlight was the service: warm, attentive, and exceptional from beginning to end. We highly recommend this place!

The dishes were absolutely delicious, with rich, flavorful dishes that were a real treat – the kind of experience we wish we could have more often. The service was simply fantastic: warm, attentive, and very friendly from beginning to end. We had a great time, and a special mention goes to the kindness shown to our dog. We highly recommend this restaurant!

05/05/2026: BAR === Nice bar and they do a very nice Hugo. AMBIENCE ======== Hmm. I’ve been a few times and when there was a pianist (Charles the pianist) the vibe was electric. Cool, inclusive and interesting. But I went there in May 26 and without the live music I felt it was missing a little je ne sais quoi. FOOD ===== Didn’t try the food but it looked good. WHY 4 STARS =========== Well, I would have given 5 but for the lack of music. I will revisit and perhaps revise this up to 5 or down to 3 stars. Watch this space.

06/04/2026: We booked Soul Brothers for our father's 60th birthday, and it was a complete success. The venue ticked all the boxes: centrally located and easily accessible, warm and intimate, with the option of live music, perfect for our 45 guests, most of whom were professional musicians. The buffet, drinks, and cake package was excellent, and the staff were remarkably kind and professional. A wonderful evening, organized by people who truly know their stuff. I recommend it 1000%.

24/06/2026: I hate to give a 5 star review and risk the chance of this place becoming too popular. I see it as our secret restaurant where you can eat the best food you can imagine, have a peaceful atmosphere and even chat with the owner. However not giving a 5 star review would be a disservice to the masterful work done by the chef. It’s been over two years since we were here as we are not local and my wife and I still hold this place as our gold standard. To the chef/owner, your work is seen, and appreciated from thousands of miles away. Looking forward to meeting you again and enjoying the exquisite food your establishment offers.

23/05/2026: Edit after the reply: The blog only exists because the whole experience was quite unpleasant. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I completely understand a difficult situation; however, bringing a raw dish to a customer and saying "we didn't have time to heat it up" before leaving is hard to understand. Just like not offering any compensation on the bill despite a dish that was honestly bad. Finally, if these "hiccups" happen, leaving your server to single-handedly steer the ship against the waves (he was running around everywhere to serve everyone with virtually no help) is probably the cause. Tonight we came to eat truffade, as we often do. After waiting 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken, we ordered a small bowl of fries while waiting for our main course. The impact of this bowl was going to be huge. Not seeing it arrive, I discreetly approached the counter to see where the bowl was. I was spotted and heard someone ordering a bowl of fries from the kitchen, so I calmly returned to my table. Having devoured our delicious bowl of fries, we were a little surprised to have to wait about 45 minutes for the rest of our order. The owner noticed us (probably by the sounds of hungry stomachs) and inquired: a slight hiccup—the manually ordered bowl of fries had prevented the rest of our order from being sent to the kitchen. However, the truffade arrived soon despite this minor hiccup; these things happen, and there was no problem with it. However, sending the truffade raw, with mushy potatoes, seemed like a rather risky solution. After seeing the dish, the owner sent this Dauphiné truffade back to the kitchen, where they salvaged it as best they could, but it never quite reached the level of a proper truffade. As a gesture of goodwill, we were offered tapenade and a glass of wine, which was appreciated. However, a small discount on the bill would have been appreciated and would have been welcome. The owner and staff were attentive and empathetic, though. P.S.: If possible, take the crème brûlée out of the fridge earlier so it's not ice-cold when it arrives 🥲 (As an aside, some people sat down at an adjacent table 5-10 minutes after us and were sipping coffee after a good meal while our truffades were being taken back to the kitchen).

06/05/2026: I often order from O’Papa, and eating in is great, no complaints. However, the delivery (Uber Eats) is a huge disappointment. I've ordered twice, and both times the pasta arrived dry, whereas in the restaurant it's creamy. It's completely different. It's a shame, but there's clearly a quality issue with the delivery service. It needs to be addressed.

09/02/2026: I've always come here for great, super chicken. On 08/02/26, I bought two chickens that were undercooked and very pink, which was a shame. This time I finished cooking them in the oven.
