Le Shogun

Pessac
28/03/2026: Our favorite family restaurant for many years. We enjoy coming here for quick meals or for special occasions. The quality of the food, the freshness of the ingredients, and the friendliness of the owners make us want to come back every time. A real treat!
28/03/2026: I've been coming here regularly since I was little, and I've never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the owners are lovely. I'm not afraid to say it's my favorite restaurant.

La Pizza

Cremieu
09/04/2026: Excellent pizza! The pizza chef is always top-notch! Always smiling despite the crowds! My favorite takeaway pizza!
06/03/2026: I had the pleasure of enjoying a thin-crust pizza, and I loved it; it reminded me of my childhood. I emphasized this because, yes, they are thin, but that's been their signature for years, and I truly loved it. I recommend it (of course, to those who appreciate thin crust).

Le Repaire

Vernegues
01/03/2026: Lovely atmosphere up the mountain. Beautiful aesthetic and delicious crepes. We went Hiking after enjoying a delicious meal.
06/12/2025: Disappointing. Luckily we were well dressed, as it was chilly in the crêperie for December, despite the fireplace which was barely burning. The welcome was polite. But we were very disappointed with the crêpes we ordered: - An Aveyronnaise, which was small, filled with potatoes, with very little Roquefort sauce and five measly, very thin slices of smoked duck breast. A Savoyarde, which was also small, filled with potatoes, with very little Reblochon cheese, and served with a small salad. The dessert crêpes were small, okay, but nothing special.

L'Impertinent

Biarritz
16/04/2026: A wonderful discovery! The cuisine is exquisite and the staff is very attentive. I highly recommend this place.
24/03/2026: We arrived in a state best described as “respectably peckish” and left floating somewhere between delirium and enlightenment - somewhat financially less well off, yes, but spiritually fortified and possibly in love with a blue lobster. It all began with a Negroni (mine, bitter as regret but twice as rewarding) and a Kir (hers, charming and deceptively cheerful). Then: a trio of amuse-gueules, clearly crafted by someone with a PhD in anticipation-building. Just as I began calculating how many of those it would take to equal dinner, the amuse-bouche arrived—a sliver of tuna resting on a base of cucumber that tasted like summer. Subtle, elegant, perfectly balanced. ⸻ Act I Next came the lobster - or rather, a duet of lobster. One, gently wood-fired and lounging beside white peach, basil, and fennel. A dish dancing between sweetness and smoke. The other, a ravioli so delicate it could have doubled as haute couture, floating in a foam that whispered of cream, seashores, and some light French sorcery. Act I played out like a duet - each part elevating the other in perfect harmony. ⸻ Act II A three-part fish opera: First, grilled green beans in a smoked yogurt sauce - a lesson in how simple can still be sublime. Next: the tuna itself, seared and served over a spicy sauce tinged with habanero. Alongside, a small tartare so fresh it made my life shimmer a little brighter for just a short moment. By this point, I wasn’t eating - I was leading a one-man rescue mission, bread in hand, determined to liberate every last trace of bean sauce before it made a clean getaway across the porcelain. ⸻ Act III The Kintoa pork followed - succulent, beautifully lacquered, served with summer truffle, sweet onion, and a deep, earthy sauce that begged for more wine. We obliged, of course. At this stage, I should note that the wine pairings were not only excellent and generous - but also largely responsible for my rising sense of joy and general goodwill toward the universe. ⸻ Act IV Then came dessert - because what better way to conclude a culinary saga than with sorbet, lemon granita, black bean cream (don’t ask, just surrender), and ice cream made from blue poppy seeds and a sense of wonder? All this accompanied by Éclipse, a sparkling wine that tasted like a Nordic summer night - brief, luminous, and utterly enchanting. ⸻ And then, bliss. Petits fours arrived like tiny edible punctuation marks. Espresso was served. Someone poured something amber into a glass shaped like a poem. And for a few luminous minutes, time stopped caring about itself. ⸻ The verdict: It was a journey from sea to land, a beautifully choreographed story of contrasting flavors and colors. Every dish was a new chapter, every sip a supporting verse. Three young mademoiselles conducted the evening with wit and grace, ensuring everything flowed with quiet precision. It was a dinner to remember, firmly placing Biarritz on our culinary map forever. Thank you for a lovely evening and experience.

Hotel Restaurant du Sorgia

Lancrans
19/03/2026: EXCEPTIONAL RESTAURANT! THE WELCOME - THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE DINING ROOM - THE SERVICE ... THE CUISINE... WOW!!! Each dish is an invitation to a visual journey at first. Then comes the tasting: it's a true explosion of flavors!! A restaurant to discover and share!!
26/02/2026: I had the opportunity to stay and dine at the Sorgia during a business trip in February 2026. The reservation was made through a professional website, with the room and tourist tax already paid. The welcome and service were satisfactory, although the former seemed a little impersonal upon arrival. The staff, however, remained pleasant and helpful. If you arrive early, you can retrieve the keys using the access code on the door, which is convenient. The restaurant is very pleasant, with a cozy and warm atmosphere. The dishes were, in my opinion, excellent: I had the "coquillettes" as a starter (the name might be surprising, but it's a very pleasant surprise!), followed by a can of soda and a tiramisu, accompanied by a local beer (Pi Mousse). For €42, I found the value for money very satisfactory. Regarding the location, the hotel is quiet and has parking in the back, which is a plus. However, access can be a bit tricky during peak hours, especially when going through Valserine between 5 and 6 pm, and again in the morning between 7 and 8 am. The room was also satisfactory. The bedding was comfortable, although slightly firmer pillows would have been preferable. A minor drawback was the towels, which could be a bit softer: the one I used was particularly rough. In short, a very good place to stay that I'll keep in mind and where I'll gladly return. I recommend it.

01/03/2026: A warm atmosphere with local cuisine. An address to remember!
01/03/2026: We received a very warm welcome! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the meals were generous and delicious! We ordered two savory crepes ("Dré dans le pantu" & "sur une malentendu") which were very generously filled and then difficult to finish! We will definitely be back with our family! I highly recommend it!

Le Renoveau Bar-Brasserie

Vitteaux
22/03/2026: Service meal on March 21st Very warm welcome (from the owner and the waitress), excellent dishes at reasonable prices Highly recommended
09/03/2026: The food at Le Bec Gourmand is excellent... It's very good and very generous. Even big eaters won't leave hungry. The menu isn't extensive, but everything here is homemade (including the mayonnaise and the snail butter). From appetizer to dessert. We recommend it for the simplicity of the place and the chef's expertise.

Le Pescadou

Gassin
07/04/2026: We went to Le Pescadou in Gassin and had a truly perfect evening. The service was exceptionally attentive and warm. What was particularly impressive was how patiently and kindly they treated my friend, who has just started learning French. Despite her slow speech and still-developing listening comprehension, she wasn't stressed at all; on the contrary, she was treated with great respect and care. The food was of outstanding quality – very high-end, perfectly seasoned, and simply harmonious. Add to that a beautiful location with a wonderful ambiance and a very pleasant setting, which made the evening absolutely perfect. For two set menus, two bottles of wine, and two cocktails, we paid a total of €227. All in all: a perfect evening with excellent service, top-notch food, and a truly harmonious experience.
02/11/2025: The setting was lovely, the presentation very nice, and the food was delicious. However, we would have appreciated it if the server had suggested we order extra sides if we were still hungry, which we would have done. While the flavor was definitely there, the portions weren't quite enough to satisfy us. Considering this, it was a bit pricey. A shame. The staff was pleasant and efficient.

Verjus

Palais-Royal, Paris
06/03/2026: This dinner ended up being, far and away, the best of our recent Paris visit. We were warmly welcomed, and the service was consistently attentive and accommodating. One of us required a vegan menu and the rest had the standard tasting menu. The dishes were extraordinary: There was obvious effort put into creating as elevated a plant-based dish as the classic menu. Prior to our arrival, several different friends (both Parisian and American) recommended we eat here, and I can now see why. We are looking forward to returning very soon.
01/03/2026: Precisely executed cooking delivered with warm horpitality. Outstanding in one of the world’s great cities. Best of the best.
