19/05/2026: Set back from the street with its spectacular terrace and enormous rubber dome, the place is pleasant. The service was attentive and quite quick; we didn't have to wait. The aperitif was served promptly, and the courses arrived in quick succession. My partner found the fish excellent, while I opted for the Corsican menu. I enjoyed it, but I would have preferred prime cuts of lamb, as it was quite bony, even though the grilled flavor was delicious. We enjoyed the wine by the glass. Overall, we appreciated this unpretentious restaurant.

17/05/2026: We arrived by chance on a Monday evening, there were five of us. We were pleasantly surprised by the place, the food, and that memorable and generous fish soup! The waiter was also very kind. A small local digestif at the end of the meal would have been very welcome, however… In any case, I will definitely return on my next visit to Corsica. Don't hesitate for a second if you're passing through Ajaccio.

30/05/2026: We ordered well-done burgers because we absolutely hate seeing blood on our plates. However, the woman who served us brought us rare flank steak instead. Out of politeness, I kept the plate until I noticed the meat was still bloody inside. I didn't eat any of it, as I hate that. When we pointed out the problem at the end of the meal, the reaction was very unpleasant. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, I was told that perhaps my foreign accent had caused a misunderstanding. I found this remark disrespectful. The word "burger" is used everywhere, and I travel a lot; this is the first time I've encountered this kind of situation in a restaurant. The most disappointing thing was the lack of apology and the way we were made to feel responsible for an order error. This experience truly disgusted me and left me with a very bad memory of this establishment. The older woman who served us should perhaps take a notebook, write down the orders, and ask customers to repeat them, because surely there will be other people with an accent who will be hungry for a dish that appeals to them. I do not recommend this restaurant: the service, the attitude, and the lack of consideration for customers make me not want to return.

30/05/2026: For our lunch, we ordered two well-done burgers, as we don't like our meat rare. However, the waitress brought us two flank steaks. I immediately pointed out that this wasn't what we had ordered, since we had asked for two burgers. She seemed very surprised and replied that she had thought we meant "two flank steaks." Since the waitress didn't apologize, didn't offer to change the dishes to what we had ordered, or make any effort to resolve the misunderstanding, we decided to keep the food, out of politeness and to avoid a tense situation. However, we quickly realized that the meat was still rare inside. I personally tried eating the more cooked parts, but it wasn't enough. So, we finally decided to leave the restaurant. What's particularly regrettable is that at no point, neither at the table nor when paying, did the waitress apologize for this mistake. When we brought up the issue at the end of the meal, her reaction was particularly unpleasant. She even suggested that the misunderstanding might have been due to my foreign accent. I found this remark completely inappropriate and disrespectful. It's the first time I've ever experienced such a situation in a restaurant. I simply replied that there's a significant difference between the words "burger" and "bavette," which makes such confusion difficult to understand. Instead of acknowledging her mistake, she feigned surprise that we wanted to leave. She then offered us a discount of €10 by charging us for two burgers instead of the two bavettes we were served. I thanked her for the offer, but explained that even with the discount, the meal was neither what we had ordered nor what we had actually eaten. I tried to remind her that the mistake wasn't ours, especially since she hadn't even bothered to write down our order. Visibly annoyed, she turned her back on me and went to find the manager. When explaining the situation to her manager, the waitress presented it as a simple misunderstanding, implying that we bore some responsibility. Then she went back to her shift. The manager, on the other hand, was calmer and more professional. She apologized for the misunderstanding and confirmed the €10 discount. She referred to it as a simple human error, which I can completely understand. However, what I find less understandable is that after bringing us the wrong order, the waitress immediately assumed it was what we had ordered, without questioning her own understanding, without offering to replace the dishes with the burgers we ordered, and without offering the slightest apology. I also mentioned to the manager the comment about my foreign accent, but this elicited no particular reaction. I left this experience deeply disappointed and upset. An order mistake can happen in any establishment. What makes the difference is how it's handled. Here, the most shocking thing isn't the mistake itself, but the complete lack of apology and the way we were made to feel responsible for a fault that wasn't ours. I won't be returning to this restaurant. If you decide to go anyway, I advise you to clearly enunciate each word of your order, or you risk receiving a different dish than the one you asked for. I do not recommend this establishment. The service, the waitress's attitude, and the lack of consideration for customers make me absolutely not want to return.

26/05/2026: We stayed in this charming hotel in a very clean and comfortable room, which also boasted a splendid view of the Loire River. Dinner at the restaurant was perfect! The menu showcased local and organic produce, a true expression of the Loire Valley's terroir. The dishes were beautiful and, above all, delicious, with an incredible balance of flavors. To complement them, the wine list was also very local, featuring vibrant wines that perfectly reflected the chef's cuisine. A fully realized and consistent identity. A big thank you to Vanessa and Hendrik for their warm welcome!

12/06/2026: We went there this winter. We enjoyed the menu and the owner's kindness. The restaurant is accessible to people with reduced mobility. I highly recommend it!

30/05/2026: Reservations are recommended. The welcome was very friendly. Before our reservation time, we were able to have a coffee, and then it was time to eat in a very clean dining room. The service was quick, and the portions were generous. The set menu was €19: starter, main course, dessert, and coffee. There is also the option to eat on the terrace.

24/05/2026: Justifying an hour and a half wait with "It's because you ordered a charcuterie board." Said in an annoyed tone... That's the kind of behavior that will keep us from going back.

21/05/2026: You can come here to eat the driest pork steak ever. The staff are very sweet, but I think the kitchen really needs improvement.

A very warm welcome, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. And what can we say about the meal except that from the appetizer to the dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We will gladly return. 20/05/2026: Sorry, I'm not giving it 5 stars. It's true, everything is homemade and very good; hats off to the owner who does the cooking—he deserves 6 stars! But the wait between courses was far too long. Two hours for two people to eat is much too long. It's a shame, but we won't be going back.

02/07/2026: Superb restaurant with generous and flavorful authentic cuisine. Everything is delicious; it's my favorite place in the Var region. The service is top-notch, and there's a panoramic sea view from inside or on the terrace. I highly recommend Le Maurin des Maures.
