20/09/2026: The cakes are excellent, especially the almond tart and the Russian cake. The proud shopkeeper is very friendly and told us last Saturday that we were probably the most remarkable, not to say bizarre, table of the day 😂. I'll gladly go back.

27/07/2026: Quantity over quality? I've been to this establishment several times, and this last dinner was nothing like my previous meals. The sheer number of dishes they serve (both takeout and dine-in) is impressive! I had chicken stir-fried with vegetables and Thai rice. It was good… However, my colleague suspected his dishes had been microwaved (prawns and the "homemade" dessert). The service, on the other hand, was very rushed. You get the feeling they're in a hurry, and it's not relaxing. Best of luck.

25/08/2026: A wonderful discovery during our vacation We discovered the Auberge Sainte Catherine in Foussais-Payré during our vacation and had a fantastic time. The welcome was truly warm and friendly, with a helpful and attentive staff. The setting is lovely, with the typical atmosphere of a traditional inn, which immediately creates a relaxed and pleasant ambiance. As for the food, we were very pleasantly surprised. The dishes were of very high quality, beautifully presented, and above all, delicious, with ingredients that seemed carefully selected. You can tell that the cooking is done with passion and a desire to offer something of quality without going overboard. Another excellent point: the value for money. For around €35 ​​per person, we had a very good meal, which seems perfectly reasonable considering the quality offered. We therefore recommend this place without hesitation if you are passing through the Foussais-Payré area. This is exactly the kind of restaurant we love to discover on vacation: simple, warm, friendly, and with excellent food. We'll gladly return if we're ever back in the area! 😊 ⭐ A truly wonderful place to discover!

02/11/2026: Excellent cuisine, generous and flavorful, with particularly welcoming service. One small drawback, however, concerns the seating comfort: even in a traditional Lyonnais bistro, a little extra comfort would be truly appreciated. This doesn't detract from the quality of the food!

11/10/2026: We arrived at 12:20 PM and asked to reserve a table for 1:00 PM. The waiter told us the restaurant didn't take reservations. So we decided to sit down and asked for an available table, but the same waiter told us it wasn't possible because it was reserved! A group of customers arrived five minutes later and told the same waiter they had reserved a table for six. So, reservations seem to be based on favoritism at this restaurant? The Caesar salad was Caesar in name only; it was practically inedible, a crude mix of lettuce, half-dried tomatoes, and hard, cold bits of chicken. Two waitresses did take the time to come and ask us what was wrong. Luckily, we weren't charged for either salad. But a cook who can't even make a decent Caesar salad needs to go back to school, in my opinion. In short, I was quite disappointed with this restaurant.

09/10/2026: Not great, we were rather disappointed. We were packed in like sardines and the overall noise level was far too high. The waiter was very friendly but the service was slow. The food was good but nothing made us go "wow".

01/05/2026: The waiter got angry because we (a large group) left five minutes later than agreed. Before that, he tried to chase us away, and everything was a bit rushed and disorganized. Moreover, this gentleman took our dessert orders anyway, and it took 30 minutes before we received them. Then this guy got angry, kicked open the kitchen door, threw a glass on the floor (in the kitchen, of course), threw a raclette machine around, and pulled a plate away so quickly that a fork scraped against someone's arm. Idk the food was tasty though 🥹🥹

Very fine food, a pleasant atmosphere, and good wine at truly fair prices. In our opinion, it's the best restaurant for miles around. And it's been consistently this way for years.

29/10/2026: Excellent burgers made with a commitment to quality (even the ketchup and mayo are homemade and delicious!). They recycle and use eco-friendly packaging! Most importantly, the taste is there. We'll be back next time we're in Arles!
