13/08/2026: Generous portions and truly delicious dishes in a pleasant setting. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning in the summer, but I still highly recommend it.

02/09/2026: A beautiful vaulted room in Bordeaux stone, quite pleasant for a romantic evening, without feeling crowded. I remain somewhat ambivalent about the rest, given my expectations for this establishment, which has been renowned for many years. The €73 menu included a glass of champagne and two glasses of wine. To put it simply, that's equivalent to €50 for the food alone, for a five-course "substantial" meal. So, it's above average for the evening, for the advertised category. There was no "wow" factor on the plate, beyond the quality of the ingredients used. Finally, for this category, two things were bothersome: having to keep your cutlery (except for desserts, of course) and the limescale stains on the water carafe/glasses. I should point out, however, that the chef is alone at the stove (open kitchen) with one person serving. Everything is therefore managed very efficiently, in my opinion.

29/08/2026: We had a wonderful time, a truly enchanting interlude! The chef delighted us from beginning to end. The quality of the local produce, enhanced by the chef (without any unnecessary showmanship), transported us. Finally, we were able to chat with the chef at the end of the meal, the perfect ending to a beautiful culinary experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, which for me embodies the art of French cuisine!

There are so many lovely places around here, says the Cape, for the same price and a different setting.

14/08/2026: A warm welcome! Pilou (our dog) was treated like royalty. There wasn't much choice on the menu, but that didn't matter because everything was excellent, homemade food that delighted our taste buds. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Angoulême. P.S. Please consider making it accessible for people with reduced mobility, as the stairs aren't easy for everyone.

01/08/2026: A very warm welcome and perfect service! The daily special (mussels and hamburgers for the children) was delicious and generous. A great time for the whole family. A nice touch was their return of a forgotten bag. Truly excellent, we highly recommend it.

15/07/2026: We had a lovely stay at this hotel this weekend. Booking was very easy. The welcome was very warm, the rooms were clean, and the owner was very attentive. We had dinner at the restaurant: a short menu featuring fresh, local produce, and excellent cuisine.

05/07/2026: I had an excellent stay at this hotel during a business trip. The rooms were exactly as described: clean, comfortable, and pleasant. The real highlight of this establishment is the food, which is more than excellent and offers great value for money. A big thank you also to the manager, who is exceptionally kind. The hotel is very quiet and enjoys a perfect location near the lake. I highly recommend this hotel.

05/09/2026: We've probably been stopping by this magical place for 20 years, always with the same pleasure, and always warmly welcomed by the same (Danish-Filipino) family. The cuisine is consistently original, with a touch of the exotic, and the dishes are prepared with care. The terrace is wonderful in summer, and the dining room is very pleasant in the shoulder seasons. And the service is attentive. This restaurant offers a lot of quality, and the prices reflect that (and a bit quickly for our liking!).

20/08/2026: We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant, which offers a lovely view of the small medieval village of Olargues, perched above the river. The cuisine is delicate, flavorful, and surprising. We enjoyed the serenity of the setting as much as the food.
