20/09/2026: Superb location, beautiful stonework, pergolas, magnificent garden, lovely atmosphere, DJ in the evening. A real wow factor for my 8 guests. However, there was a slight misunderstanding regarding the phone reservation: tapas in the garden (?), instead of the restaurant inside. We were celebrating a 50th birthday, and I was a little disappointed upon arrival. I wanted our family to be surprised from the start of the evening, so it was a shame to have to wait for a response. After a few minutes of discussion with a waitress, they agreed to serve us our meal outside, as the restaurant was full. This slight awkwardness wasn't pleasant for me. The dishes were good and generous, the cocktails excellent, the service a little slow, but it was very busy. Another disappointment was when the birthday cake was served. It was a bit embarrassing. I had requested a cake without too much cream when I made the reservation, but what arrived was a very thin tart, about 1 cm thick! It was certainly good, but not up to par for a birthday cake, which was a shame... (especially since customer photos showed beautiful pastries). Luckily, the sparkler-style candles added a nice touch (and especially gave the cake some volume...lol), lit by a very friendly and funny waiter; I think he sensed my disappointment. I would recommend booking online; at least there's a record of what you really want and, above all, you avoid disappointment upon arrival, despite the absolutely magnificent setting. Perhaps they could also update the website with current photos, which is why I ended up calling to get some clarification and make a reservation (e.g., the menu that's no longer offered). I'd been before and we'll gladly return, just more careful when booking next time. It's missing a star for that reason. To end on a positive note, we all appreciated the gesture from management, who offered each of us a glass of champagne in a fantastic musical atmosphere, much enjoyed by our guests and our son for this rather special birthday... Everyone already has fond memories of the evening, and that was my wish. See you soon. 🤗

The location is excellent—set amidst the lush, green surroundings of Hasparren, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still feeling well connected. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. The food was a highlight, with delicious Basque flavors that felt authentic and thoughtfully prepared. A lovely place to relax and truly enjoy the stay.

22/03/2026: A beautifully decorated room, with many thoughtful touches upon arrival (Basque cake, complimentary drinks in the refrigerator). The peaceful Basque countryside. A superb breakfast with the chef personally bringing the eggs and bacon – very classy!

19/08/2026: The shop is small and beautifully decorated. The chef's Italian accent and high-quality dishes make our mouths water. The charcuterie and prepared foods are to die for. They even offer arancini! The pizzas are a bit pricey but very tasty. It's definitely a great place.

09/05/2026: I first knew the restaurant from the previous owners, who were friends of my parents. The day before yesterday, I ate there with a friend. It was delicious, the ingredients were fresh, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the managers were lovely. I highly recommend it.

10/09/2026: I've never seen such unpleasant staff at a McDonald's, and by staff I mean the security personnel, because the people who served us were very pleasant, but the "security guard" who thinks he's Batman and is particularly contemptuous should just go to hell. He threatened us with a fine because I had a colleague eating outside food, even though we had ordered additional food from McDonald's. He insisted we leave, threatening us with a €45,000 fine (completely fabricated after checking). In short, run if you see this jerk.

17/09/2026: It's quite simple, it's a lottery from start to finish, and you don't win every time. As a loyal Ernest customer for almost 20 years, I've noticed a real problem with management and recruitment in recent years. The quantities are unpredictable... and so are the opening hours. I've lost count of the times I've been given incorrect information about opening hours and have been met with a closed door. The staff is unfriendly and you get the feeling you're bothering them. As for the sundae bar, it's a brilliant idea when it's open and the machines are working, which is about one time out of five. Twice in one month, my sundae had a sliced ​​texture, and I was told the machine wasn't cold enough, so the overrun wasn't optimal. Perhaps it would have been helpful to inform me of this before I paid? There are, of course, some charming and professional staff members. However, perhaps it is time to train people more... or to stop recruiting seasonal workers who sigh at the prospect of working and who are doing a disservice to this fine institution that is Ernest.
