30/08/2026: Overall, we had a good time, but we left with mixed feelings. The restaurant is very small but cozy, with a lovely Italian ambiance and a beautiful Fiat parked out front that immediately sets the Italian tone. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, and the owner is an excellent salesman! The appetizers had particularly whetted our appetites: excellent burrata, delicious bread, and a truly wonderful pinsa. It was probably the best part of the meal. However, we were less convinced by the pasta. It was good, made with 100% Italian ingredients and a 100% Italian recipe. It had been presented to us as the chef's specialty, so naturally, we had high expectations. In the end, even though it was tasty, it didn't quite deliver the "wow" factor we were hoping for. It's a dish that could easily be recreated at home with good Italian ingredients. After such successful appetizers, it was rather disappointing. For six people, the bill came to around €300 before a 20% birthday discount, bringing it down to about €240 after the discount. Even with this reduction, we felt the value for money was quite high considering what we received. In short, it wasn't bad at all: very good starters, excellent staff, a warm atmosphere, and good ingredients. But given the restaurant's reputation, prices, and especially the expectations surrounding pasta, we were expecting a more memorable experience. It was good, but not as exceptional as we had imagined.

27/08/2026: Excellent Italian cuisine. Don't expect pizza, but authentic Italian pasta! The owner is very friendly and enjoys welcoming you and explaining the dishes.

20/09/2026: The cashier with short, light brown hair is elderly. Yesterday, it was just because she saw the veil that she searched everything. Of course, she didn't find anything, but she did it because she saw the veil and she didn't do it to the others since they don't wear the veil. It's RACIST of her. If she does that again next time, I'm filing a complaint.

17/09/2026: Changing the loyalty program is truly unfair. Before, we could accumulate points on many Auchan items and were happy to get a small discount by using our card. Now it's 10% on a limited number of items, obviously selected by you, and even then, these products have to be available in store given how empty your shelves are. The only way to get any money on the card is through the "Waaoh" challenges, and even then, you choose brands that are inevitably expensive and that people can't necessarily afford. I'm increasingly disappointed with your store, which is dirty, very expensive, half empty all year round, and unprofessional.

06/09/2026: ★★★★★ Quite Simply, the Best Steak Frites I Have Ever Had Our lunch at La Bourse et La Vie was truly exceptional... one of those quintessentially Parisian dining experiences that we will remember long after our trip is over. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with genuine warmth and made to feel completely welcome. We arrived just before the lunchtime rush and were shown to a wonderful, comfortable table. The hospitality was gracious and effortless from the very beginning... warm and attentive without ever being overly formal. After a brisk hour-long walk through Paris, two beautifully chilled glasses of Sancerre were exactly what we needed. With fresh bread and still water on the table, we settled in and immediately felt that we had found someplace special. We began with the selection of hors d’oeuvres, including a wonderfully fresh tomato salad and the poireaux vinaigrette with Piedmont hazelnuts. The leeks were superb, and the tomatoes were beautifully dressed, with an almost buttery richness that made something so seemingly simple absolutely delicious. Another creamy, almost tzatziki-like preparation was irresistible spread over the fresh bread. Every bite reminded us how extraordinary simple ingredients can be when they are treated with care. Then came the faux-filet de bœuf maturé origine France, sauce au poivre, with frites. I can say this without hesitation: this was the best steak frites I have ever had in my life. The French beef was cooked to absolute perfection... deeply flavorful, beautifully prepared and wonderfully tender. But the sauce au poivre was in a league of its own. Rich, savory and perfectly balanced, it was quite simply the finest peppercorn sauce I can remember tasting. And the frites! Absolutely scrumptious. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside and not remotely greasy. They were magnificent on their own and even better used to soak up every last bit of that extraordinary sauce au poivre. My husband and I both ordered the same dish, and we were equally blown away. For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée and the chocolate mousse. The crème brûlée was wonderful, but that chocolate mousse was something else entirely. It is easily one of the three best chocolate mousses I have ever eaten... intensely chocolatey, beautifully textured and somehow rich without being heavy. An extraordinary ending to an extraordinary meal. The service throughout was excellent. The young woman who looked after us was attentive, gracious and lovely, and the gentleman who greeted us, whom we believe may have been the manager or owner, could not have been warmer. We felt genuinely welcomed and beautifully cared for throughout our lunch. Paris is filled with restaurants, but there is something particularly special about a place that combines superb cooking, gracious hospitality, an intimate and comfortable atmosphere, and food that makes you stop mid-bite and look across the table at the person you're dining with. La Bourse et La Vie is that kind of place. Five stars without hesitation. We left completely delighted — and still talking about that faux-filet au poivre. An exceptional Parisian lunch and a restaurant to which we would return in a heartbeat.

13/09/2026: Excellent restaurant, however, we weren't greeted upon arrival. The table service was very average (nonchalant and the impression that we were bothering them when we asked for something), except for the chef who came to prepare the steak tartare. Prices are a bit excessive. It's a shame because the food is truly perfect. That day, there were six of us. I personally had a tarte flambée as an appetizer with everyone at the table, then steak tartare prepared by the chef right in front of us (absolutely excellent!), and to finish, a Cuban coffee (similar to an Irish coffee with rum), all accompanied by an equally excellent Montepulciano. The bill came to 50 euros per person.
