09/09/2024: Very good and refined cuisine. The servers are very friendly and smiling. If you are looking to eat on a shaded terrace, with lots of charm, in a street far from the usual hustle and bustle of the city, I recommend the cauldron.

Don't forget any customer even when the room is full, and always very welcoming, smiling, she does her best so that it doesn't drag on, a comfort for me who works in the area!!!
I had written a comment saying that in the kitchen it was very long, this is no longer relevant now it is very quick, perfect for the one hour lunch break,

05/07/2025: Small restaurant that really, really doesn't look like much and yet!!! A real gem. The dishes are so good that I want to go back every day!! Really bravo to the chef who has gold in his hands. Everything is homemade and it shows! Very affordable prices. A little tip though: put a menu that doesn't "move" hanging at the entrance of the restaurant because when you show the board to seated customers, those who pass by don't see the menu and that makes you lose precious customers, which is a shame.
04/07/2025: This is my second time at this restaurant and, like last time, everything was very good. There are few choices on the menu, which is a good thing because absolutely everything is homemade. In addition, the wine selection advice is always top-notch. I highly recommend this family restaurant.

03/06/2025: We went there last Sunday, and prior going, I tried to call at 1.40, to ensure they were still open, it says 15.00 on Google map, no answer. We still went. We arrive at 14.10, struggled to park, no real parking area, we waited by the patio entrance. We were eventually greeted by a waitress, out of breath carrying plates. We asked if we could eat, we were 2. She mumbled something like, "No, were only two doing the service, and i don't have the time" and she moved on. There were only about 5 tables with customers on the patio. What a waste of a journey going there.
25/05/2025: If you're a foodie, you love nature, peace and quiet, and being on the banks of the Charente River, then you've found the right place.
A plate full of originality, homemade bread.
Thanks to a service provided in the region, we found L'Amaranthe.
Thank you for this wonderful discovery in Port d'Envaux, this pretty little village.

Very recommendable site. We ate very well and fresh products.
Good atmosphere and nice place.
If you ask for gluten-free options, they try to provide you with a dish appropriate to your needs.
I have eaten there several times and have not had any problems.
Every time you pass by there it is a mandatory stop.
03/09/2024: We recently dined at Bistrot des canisses and had the opportunity to try their Steak Tartare and Caesar Salad. While these dishes are classics, we were surprised to find that they had been heavily revisited, straying far from their authentic recipes.
Unfortunately, the quality of the ingredients used did not quite meet expectations.
However, the outdoor setting was lovely. Dining outside in the charming village ambiance added a pleasant touch to the experience.

20/09/2024: Great visit today in Le Club Leon. Fantastic food. We've taken lobster and royal paella and they were delicious. Amazing service of Yacine who was helpful and competitive. He really tried to serve us in English and did it really great as well as his manager. We were surprised with English service. Great atmosphere, we've enjoyed with a musical quizz and even were awarded!! Amazingly memorable evening, hope we'll come back next year!!

The decor is cute and the atmosphere pleasant. Top notch service!
The dishes and cocktails we chose were delicious and generous.
Very good restaurant that I recommend.
Small downside: I found the cheese naan a little too dry. It was even crispy in some places.
15/07/2024: Very good food, and in very good quantities in the take-out portions. A quality Indian restaurant that I recommend!
