10/04/2026: Still very good after all these years

03/04/2026: We arrived on a Thursday evening. The atmosphere was calm, but the welcome was top-notch. The waitress was smiling and attentive, a carafe of water was placed directly with the drinks (Coke Zero for me, beer for my colleague), and a small bowl of peanuts was provided as an aperitif… we immediately felt at ease. I opted for the set menu with an assortment of appetizers: grilled peppers, homemade terrine, anchovy dip, Argentinian-style beans… everything was truly delicious and full of flavor. For my main course, I had the mixed grill of Iberian pork (skewers of pluma and confit shoulder) accompanied by excellent homemade mashed potatoes. The meat was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. My colleague ordered the tartare with Armagnac, which was also a hit. A very welcome touch was the wine tasting before choosing, a real plus for the service. The setting is warm and inviting, with pleasant decor, and even the placemats bring a smile with their quotes. In conclusion, no complaints whatsoever; everything was perfect. A great place, we'll definitely come back.

06/04/2026: Fantastic! Delicious flavors, great rum, and very affordable menus: a guaranteed escape to the Indian Ocean, from Madagascar to Mauritius and Reunion Island, without spending the price of a plane ticket. And a great atmosphere too!

17/04/2026: Excellent food and pleasant space, perhaps a little worn but comfy. Pushed the boat out with the more expensive menu, rather than the 26€ one.

28/03/2026: Very nice restaurant. Great decor. Pleasant welcome and service. The menu is a bit limited, and the prices are high, which probably explains the low turnout for a Saturday night.

30/03/2026: A very average experience, with a lack of choice in the dishes, no menu or even a wine list available... What a shame! The dining room is extremely basic and the service is mediocre at best. It's not a restaurant in the usual sense of the word. The prices are high, and unfortunately, it all ended in a disappointing lunch experience with friends.

13/01/2026: Fantastic experience. Impeccable service, and the music was really great. I had the DIY steak tartare. Simple and delicious. Special mention to the waiter who was incredibly attentive. I highly recommend it for a family evening out while enjoying La Palmyre.

15/04/2026: We had lunch on April 8, 2026, and were advised to order "sentinel" oysters, size #3. There were two adults and one child in our party. The child tasted one oyster. We all became severely ill at the same time: weak legs, vomiting, and diarrhea. We recommend this restaurant only to people trying to lose weight or attempting suicide... I want to point out that all the oysters were bad since WE ALL GOT SICK. Avoid this restaurant!

10/04/2026: We had the all-you-can-eat mussels option and it was delicious! The service was excellent, we'll gladly come back.

21/03/2026: when we booked the hotel it said the restraunt would be open ,one of the reasons we chose this place.3 days before our arrival we were informed the a la carte would not be available ,also they would not supply towels for the swimming pool.Too late for us to change hotel!!Their reason was that it was to early in the season?Not our fault.We were also told we would be the only guests staying,as tho"this was some kind of privalage.When we went down for breakfast there were 12 people having breakfast.....so much for it being out of season!!! I,m afraid I came away feeling like I had been lied to,this has left a bad taste .I can not recommend this hotel.

25/04/2026: L'Étincelle, a café I've been to at least 20 times, whether with friends or my boss, was my go-to spot. Today, I arrived and politely asked if I could use the restroom. A bald man didn't recognize me and said no, no problem, I'd never seen him before either. So I explained that I was a regular, and he started lecturing me, haughtily explaining that "I teach my children that you always have to pay for a coffee before going to the restroom, even my children understand." Very patronizing and subtly humiliating. Doing your job is fine. Being so slyly belittling is unprofessional. I won't be going back, and I'll be warning everyone I know about this café.

10/01/2026: We were a party of five for New Year’s Eve dinner and had a wonderful time. Lovely, attentive service, a relaxed atmosphere, and amazing food. We never felt rushed, which made the evening even more enjoyable. A perfect spot in the Old Town. Thank you!

29/12/2025: We had cod and pork tenderloin with pistachio croquettes. Both were excellent! The cod was succulent, and the sauce was very flavorful without overpowering the fish. The pork tenderloin was beautifully grilled and glazed. The fish was served with a wonderfully lemony polenta. Everything was very well prepared. The service was attentive and courteous. A truly delightful experience! The quoted price includes a bottle of excellent wine and a glass of very good Calvados.
