08/09/2024: I had heard about this restaurant for a long time without ever having been there except on this day of September 8. The welcome was, like everything else, extraordinary. First of all, the place where the inn is located, almost deserted, lined with old chestnut trees with a breathtaking view of the valleys of this very beautiful Castagniccia. The boss, also a "chef" and alone in the kitchen, cooks "old-style" and "nustral" dishes that we tasted with passion. The service matches some “starred” ones. In conclusion everything was excellent without any surprises for the bill. To recommend. We will come back to taste other specialties. Thanks to Paul and his team.u7

23/08/2024: We spotted this restaurant on the internet for lunch on our return from Italy. And what a great find! The welcome from JP is very warm and the terrace is pleasant to enjoy the summer weather. The menu is tempting, especially with the barbecue grills which are prepared before our eyes. As a starter, JP's foie gras, recommended by our table neighbors, is simply sumptuous! As for the main course, there is something for everyone (fish, meat, grilled meats, salads, burgers etc.) and everything is delicious. In addition, the sauces and mayonnaise are homemade. For dessert, on the advice of the waitress, we had a Chartreuse ice cream and a very generous pavlova. What a treat to end the meal in style! Finally, the service was impeccable throughout our lunch: from the welcome to the dessert. JP even allows himself a few well-placed quips regarding his entries. Bottom line: a perfect meal from start to finish. We ate well and had a great time. We will definitely come back.

28/09/2024: Incredible welcome, the boss is very warm and tries to put us in the best possible conditions The food is always perfect, it’s at least the fifth time I’ve come and the quality hasn’t changed, I highly recommend it.

21/09/2024: I knew this restaurant, I was passing through Trevoux, what a disappointment, flavorless cuisine and dishes without any presentation, however the bill was very salty. Next time, I won't make the detour. I absolutely do not recommend 👎

01/10/2024: Very nice experience! Everything was perfect, the welcome, the service, the meal, the cruise. A moment of original and romantic pleasure. You have the impression of traveling on a cloud as the movement of the boat is so gentle. The staff is attentive to our well-being. The dishes are delicious, well presented, of quality. We have time to admire the monuments of Paris along the Seine and let ourselves be lulled while tasting. I recommend and we will come back.

24/10/2024: C'était la première fois que nous venions goûter à la cuisine de Pierre Gagnaire. Eh bien, le repas fut à la hauteur de nos attentes. L'originalité des associations de saveurs, alliée à un savoir-faire magistral dans l'art de conjuguer le verbe et l'auxiliaire en matière gastronomique, vient exciper de l'immense talent du cuisinier. En témoigne, entre autres, le mariage idoine entre la daurade, la Saint-Jacques et le "sirop gluant" de pamplemousse à la fois suave et légèrement acidulé, la sobriété sublime du bouillon marin aux algues, la fondue d'endives rouges venant transcender le goût déjà remarquable au naturel du lieu jaune ou encore la glace huître au plancton. Le pressé de poularde de Bresse, de son côté, emprunte à la tradition du terroir la noblesse du produit et de l'art saucier (sauce ivoire majuscule il faut bien le dire) en se livrant à une réinterprétation totale du pot-au-feu ou plutôt, sa réinvention devrions-nous dire, tant la complexité des saveurs est subsumée par l'évidence du goût. À partir du multiple, Pierre Gagnaire sait faire de l'unique, du beau et du mémorable. De ce point de vue, le grand dessert, déclinaison en neuf services de l'art du sucré à la française avec des associations de saveurs là encore improbables mais tellement probantes, à l'image de l'ail noir ou de la réglisse utilisés de manière surprenante mais justement idoine. Devant pareille œuvre demiurgique, notre palais gardera l'immarcescible mémoire de ces instants fugaces mais tellement gourmands. Cela vaut recommandation des plus chaleureuses bien évidemment.

18/10/2024: Menu du midi en semaine magnifique, le meilleur rapport qualité/prix/plaisir de la capitale. Tout était parfait - la cuisine, le service et la salle. J’avais testé en juillet et le plaisir a été le même en octobre meme si je connais jamais cuisine de Pierre Gagnaire depuis l’époque de Saint Étienne.
