19/09/2026: The staff is very friendly and welcoming, but I have mixed feelings about my experience. I found the service a bit too intrusive: we were asked very frequently if everything was alright, to the point that it somewhat interrupted the conversation and the time spent at the table. Regarding the menu, I thought it was a shame that there were no salads offered in the evening, especially for those who wanted a lighter meal. The same goes for the set menus: the starter + main course + dessert option is quite substantial, and I would have appreciated the option of choosing just a starter + main course or a main course + dessert. Finally, considering what was offered, I found the value for money rather high. This is, of course, a personal opinion. So, the staff is pleasant, but the set menu doesn't really correspond to what I look for when I go to a restaurant in the evening.

19/09/2026: A wonderful discovery at the 5ème Saveur restaurant, with beautifully presented and described dishes. The decor has been updated since my last visit to L'Âtre. The excellent quality ingredients contributed to the culinary pleasure the chef prepares. The only slight drawback was that the wine I chose was no longer available on the wine list, and the one offered was almost double the price.

03/10/2026: The food is excellent, truly! The portions are generous and very reasonably priced. However, you should go without being in a hurry, as the service can be a little slow, but the wait is worth it! It's fun to go in a group.

23/10/2026: Arriving as a couple without a reservation, we were greeted with a smile in the dining room. The terrace was closed due to bad weather. I think it's best to book in advance during peak season, even though the terrace increases the seating capacity. The staff seems to have a family feel, and the communication between the dining room and kitchen is discreet, efficient, and organized, without rushing the customers as you sometimes experience in other restaurants. The meal was therefore enjoyed at a leisurely pace in a full dining room with a pleasantly quiet atmosphere. The cuisine is remarkable in terms of the quality of the ingredients, the precision of the cooking, the seasoning, and the presentation. It's also worth noting that we were served generous portions. We ordered: Aperitif: 1 Pessac-Léognan red wine 1 Pineau des Charentes white wine Main course: 1 slow-cooked veal rump with vegetables in a porcini mushroom sauce (with lovely slices of porcini mushrooms 😋) 1 Landes salad with homemade foie gras as an extra Dessert: 1 Poire Belle Hélène (pear with pear) 1 homemade ice cream sundae For us, it was another gem. Having walked down this street regularly for a long time, we weren't disappointed to have stepped inside, and we'll definitely be back on our next visit. Thank you 🙏🏻👍🏻 PS: That day they had whole, freshly caught sea bream, and for meat lovers, rib-eye steaks in various weights, up to over 1 kg!

21/10/2026: Excellent experience! The terrace was closed due to the inclement weather, but they quickly adapted and reopened it with a smile and helpful advice. I tried three different dishes plus wine. Absolutely everything was excellent and very generous. A gourmet coffee would have been a delightful ending. It's a shame this wasn't offered, especially since the desserts were also excellent. Congratulations! Nothing but positive things to say.
